John 6
[SUP]35 [/SUP]Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst. [SUP]36 [/SUP]But I said to you that you have seen me and yet do not believe. [SUP]37[/SUP]
All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never cast out. [SUP]38 [/SUP]For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will but the will of him who sent me. [SUP]39 [/SUP]And this is the will of him who sent me, that I should lose nothing of all that he has given me, but raise it up on the last day. [SUP]40 [/SUP]For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.”
Can Jesus lose those given to him? He doesn't seem to think so.
John 10
[SUP]25 [/SUP]Jesus answered them, “I told you, and you do not believe. The works that I do in my Father's name bear witness about me, [SUP]26 [/SUP]but you do not believe because you are not among my sheep. [SUP]27 [/SUP]My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. [SUP]28 [/SUP]
I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. [SUP]29 [/SUP]My Father, who has given them to me,[SUP][a][/SUP] is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand. [SUP]30 [/SUP]I and the Father are one.”
Are you able to remove yourself from the hand of Jesus and the hand of God the Father?
Titus 3
[SUP]4 [/SUP]But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, [SUP]5 [/SUP]
he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, [SUP]6 [/SUP]whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, [SUP]7 [/SUP]so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
Is his gift and the work of the Holy Spirit in the regenerate man in vain?
God's mercy is greater than our inability to be righteous.
