Here is a few questions for all of you who have trouble with same-sex marriage, and please I would like honest answers but not rude. How does two people you don't know (or even if you do know them) getting married affect your life in any way? will you lose money? will it cause your body harm in any way? will you do and better or worse at your job? will you care any less for your family?..... for example if two people who lived 3 neighborhoods away got married, but you have never met them so you don't know a thing about them, does them getting married affect your life at all?.... I will expect that the answers to these questions would be no. so if it does not affect you in any way then why are you inserting yourself and your beliefs into someone else's life? would you like it if someone told you that you could not marry the one you love? would you think that was right?

Well, not to be rude, but I don't think it's fair when people tell people they shouldn't post in threads. I've seen it countless times. If it's not closed or anything, everyone has a right to post in a thread....even if it's not been active. That's the point of forums: To post in threads.

Sure, I'd like to see this thread done and over with, I agree....but telling people they shouldn't post? How is she supposed to know that you or anyone else wanted it to be done?

It's a thread. In a forum. If there's a rule about that (an actual WRITTEN RULE, I don't remember reading it when I first joined).

Nope, no rule about it. Just frustration. And only about this particular thread again and again and again and again and...

Depends if you believe the bible or not how folks answer this issue?

It is like when my dad and brother are going crazy over Crimson Tide losing a game, their lives are not afflected at all...but it is getting so bad just like somebody forced them into being Auburn supporters...it is messing with their emotions...reckon that's the case with same sex marriages as well.

Hi.... I'm glad I stumbled on this thread...

Sweetling it's not as back and white as you think. I DO understand where you and surprisingly!! a lot of other posters are coming from. The world and the new humanism push is to live and let live right? We're all the same...to each his own and all that.
For unbelievers that's one thing - they accept it at face value because they believe in nothing really....so why not?

But for true Christians this IS a real concern! Actually it's a travesty - but I know younger people have been indoctrinated not to see things that way. Believe it or not a one world society is being built right in front of you yet you are blind to it. (I'll accept comments on this last sentence now! lol)

Of course we can NEVER and will NEVER condone homosexual anything much less marriage and we have every right to take that stance THAT'S what I think people really loose sight of! We have a God given right to refuse these things! And we are supposed to fight these things!! "Marriage" from inception! has been man and wife as GOD intended. Or am I mistaken by this somehow? Please advise...

So there is a real misconception that gay marriage is somehow supposed to be accepted by Christians because it's just not nice to exclude people esp. because of sexual orientation. Sadly and very concerning is the fact that some sects of "Christians" are coming around to this idea.

My personal opinion is that gays are trying to push their way into everything and demanding acceptance. It's such a HUGE issue right? Yet only like 3% of the nation is gay! So you tell me, is the over saturation (nu-proportional to the population) of the gay life style from God or satan? Does it bring people closer to God or drive a huge wedge between them and the ability to really know God? Is that not satan's plan???

So the perversion of our society according to scripture is like Bama winning a football game?

If you believe the bible and fear God..you are against gay marriage. If you don't believe the bible and have no fear of God? Your probably ok with sexual perversion being promoted in our society.

So here is a question for you,if you ever return. Do they have a right to insert their beliefs into our lives and force us to accept their lifestyle? Its a two way street and you cant have it both ways can you?

Hi Sweetling. Welcome to cc. I will answer you directly. The issue of homosexual marriage DOES affect me and my family. If 2 people want to call themselves camels and claim they have humps on their backs, what business is that of mine? The trouble would come if they forced my children to learn that pretending to be camels was not only ok, but if my kids don't believe that as well, they are to be ostracized and punished. Then if I as a business owner refused to recognize that they were camels, and refuse to provide them water and hay and whatever else a camel wants, they use the force of the corrupt gov. to fine me and take away my business. There are MANY more reasons how 2 men calling themselves married affects me and my family in a profoundly negative way, but you get the idea.

I believe Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior, would you have a problem with me using the threat of gov. and law to force you to not only believe what I believe, but make you let me use your business for Church services?

I have two points to share (and I might get clobbered here for the first one..)

1. It doesn't bother me one bit if gays want to get married. I don't believe its any of my business. God says its a sin, but that's between them and God, not them and me. By the same token, I would not go around condemning those who've committed adultery.

2. What I don't like is how gays label people as homophobic or bigots just because they don't agree with their views. I also am against things like allowing both boys and girls to use the same locker room at school.
