The first miracle performed by Jesus was turning water into wain. If consuming alchohol is a sin then, do you think Jesus sin also? I personally believe that its okay to consume alchohol but not until drunk because that might get you into trouble.
Hi everyone.. What's your thoughts on having a drink? Is it a sin? Just our Sunday service was about alcohol and we should not drink any at all cause 1 can lead to ruining your life., I know the bible says good and bad about it and maybe good was just about grape juice with no alcohol content but we just don't know. I never get drink but I enjoy a couple of low alcohol drinks at the weekend., am I doing wrong? I used to get drink before I got saved and know that was wrong cause I got hangovers and did stupid things., should I give it up completely? I know what not to drink and not to get drunk now.. Have a wedding next week too and was thinking I probably shouldn't drink anything at all at it now., any good advice would be greatly appreciated
A beer now and then is not a sin.
What If there Is a brother In CHRIST that has a weakness to It and he sees you with the occasional beer?![]()
Mmm... while drinking on one's own watch is between you and God, knowingly doing anything that would hinder a sibling in Christ spiritually does in fact make it a sin. You are placing your personal appetite in a higher place of importance that the spiritual wellbeing of another living soul, which isn't loving your neighbor as yourself. Paul wrote quite extensively about it, actually.I'm not going to partake in the presence of such a brother or sister, but if I did, I reiterate, it still does not make it a sin.

Do as God leads you, StephanieThanks everyone. I would say the majority of the people at this wedding will be drinking as I know most of them. I'm going to try and not have anything to drink..
..Alcohol...
These are the two extremes. 1. People who drink too much and have a problem 2. People who don't drink at all and have a problem with anyone who drinks at all.

Good. As long as you have Christian friends that don't mind wine, then you won't be stuck thinking the pastor got that right. I worried that was the stuff taught every week, instead of the Bible.Hi Lynn.. I love the church I'm in so couldn't leave it.. That's the 1st time I've heard our paster preach on the subject.. Just don't want to be doing the wrong thing by drinking a little now and again.. Quite hard when I don't have many Christian friends and they all enjoy their wine etc.. I don't go out much at all though except weddings or friends asking me round to their house. I don't touch strong drink or table wine.. I have a low percent drink I enjoy (prob because it's full of sugar lol)
I do take a sip of the toast. I'm not against alcohol. Just don't like the taste, but to salute the newlyweds, I do take a sip. (And, I offer it to whoever happens to need a refill a little later.)Thanks everyone. I would say the majority of the people at this wedding will be drinking as I know most of them. You know, the guy whose life was in the toilet, no hope, no ambition, no desire to do better, no family, no fortune, nothing.......THEN, he turned to DRINK! And the world became all roses and sunshine!

Drunkenness is what the Bible condemns, not drinking "in moderation"
