Well, you are wrong, and seem to assume a lot about what it is like for women.
Who are you looking at to come to these conclusions? Twenty year olds?
Uh NO! And that was a pretty insulting low blow!

My point is that women are desirable,
and guys are pretty easy,
If a woman really doesn't want to be alone,
she doesn't have to be, but guys have to jump
through alot of hoops and meet some nearly
impossible standards if they don't want to be alone.

It's just the way of the world, and it's kind of worse
in the church, because the standards are even higher,
plus the law of not being allowed to see a woman
as being attractive in a physical sense, or you get
labeled.
I know there are exceptions, if I was super rich
or some chiseled stud, I guess I'd never be alone,
but that's not me obviously, but a woman doesn't
have to be the provider and leader of the pack or
live up to high standards.
For the most part, she just has to be breathing,
and if she doesn't want to be alone,
she doesn't have to be.

Or maybe I should just say, if I was a woman,
and I didn't want to be alone,
I know I wouldn't have to be.

Do you think it goes back to Adam and Eve? Sometimes I wonder,
because woman was deceived, but man chose to sin willfully.
It says that Adam wasn't deceived so the minority belief is that Adam didn't want Eve to die alone.

And being brought up in an environment where women are to serve men and be silent and bow to male authority, when the men do take advantage of their position and abuse their power, which we know has happened a lot throughout history right into our very lifetimes, it is so much easier for the abusers to prevail with their perversions. Such a system needs to fail.
Isn't this what Jesus did? Came to be taken advantage of the system here with its abuse of power because Adam and Eve sinned and Satan abused his power?

I did not mean to be insulting, just that what you say is a common misconception that is not reflected at all in the lives of real women who would desire a relationship, sometimes over the course of many years and even decades, while none is forthcoming. You want to believe it is easy for women to not be alone if they don't want to be but what exactly are you promoting? It does not sound good to me in any way shape or form to just fall for any old guy that presents himself to me. Not to mention the fact, verifiable, that many men as they age want younger women. You are insulting women to say all we have to be is breathing, as if that was all that was required of us.

I had actually never heard that before today. Thank you for bringing it to my attention :)

I realize somebody else said something very similar... thank you, also
:)

It's the same thing with the man who believes that because of a past sin (which, after reading further in the thread, she was the one who left, not him) God would never allow him to serve others in whatever capacity God wants him in. Men have convinced him that the verse means he is disqualified from certain types of service to the body, but men don't get to declare who is called to what. God is the one who calls and gifts and equips. With all the talk of women usurping authority, you would think someone would have the eyes to see that men have usurped the Holy Spirits authority.

And as if what they've done to this man isn't enough, they want to place us women under their usurped authority by claiming we are still under the curse, calling it Gods creation order when its NOT Gods "creation order,"its the curses after the fall.

So what they do to this man is bad enough, but what they do to women is even worse because -well, it's not really worse, it's equally as bad. It's seeking to yoke us, men and women, all over again, when that Precious Blood was shed to redeem us from our bondage.

I can't even comprehend how this has happened and we got so far off course and back into this bondage. God called a murderer of our brothers and sisters to a great ministry and we have all been unspeakably blessed by Paul and his letters. A murderer of us became a great blessing to us, yet a man whose wife leaves him is not holy enough in Christ to preach if God calls him to it?
How did we come to this bondage all over again??

we, mankind were deceived. the command came to adam, then eve was made from adam. she is not apart from Him, she is a part of adam. we are one in this way. to think men and women are different in Gods eyes is just another part of the deception to divide us, because if we are divided, we cannot stand. according to the truth of the kingdom divided principle. woman is of man, in Christ we are shown that man is also of woman. paul saying he didn't permit women to speak, remember paul was a strict Pharisee before He saw the truth on the road to Damascus. Pharisees had the attitude women are less than men. paul says so many other things regarding unity, creation, one. he speaks opf a "profound mystery when he is talking marriage principle as applied to the church, the bride....it is a reference to one ness, with Christ and each other. you have good thinking, God bless you

I can't believe I finally caught up with you guys. For a few hours I've been two or three pages behind you! I am...ponderous? is that a word? I think and re-read and try to really understand what someone is saying before I answer. So I move pretty slow.

You both have been such an encouragement to me. Spiritual insight comes from the Holy Spirit in us. Men, for the most part, try to hinder the Spirit. But He should be given great honor. In fact, blaspheming Jesus can be forgiven, but blasphemy of the Spirit will never be forgiven - in this age or the one to come.

Learn His voice and learn to be very attentive to it. It is the only voice that will never steer you wrong. This Spirit was given to guide us to all truth. There are many pitfalls set for our feet by men who have usurped His authority, but if we honor Him and give Him His place, He brings us through them all safely.

I think ridiculousness is a rather strong word, but then again, I have no dog in this fight.
I think you are right Utah. I maybe could have found a better way to say this. Forgive me everyone. I need some of those m&m's maybe...:)

He should have stopped her. He didn't even try and the serpent was a beast of the field. He should have kept it out of the garden. He was not deceived by satan but tempted by Eve.
If she hadn't been there he'd still be alive alone or not and then no Messiah could have come to save him.

exactly, do you see why? the command was given to adam. where there is no law saying don't do this, there is no transgression of that law, wich is sin. eve allowed the deception adam chose to follow it, having been commanded not to by Gods word. so the deception, caused and really is the sin. wich came from satan. eve knew the command, but it was entrusted by God to adam. without eve adam would have never heard the deception, she came from him. without adam eve could never have sinned because the command was entrusted to adam. we are one. we fell together woman and man. both are responsible, but the true enemy is satan the deceiver.
Hmmm, that sounds almost logically correct in the natural mind. Sorta. :p Especially the part where you blamed Eve for the fall of man, like Adam did. Except Adam blamed God as well, for giving Eve to him as a companion.

And you believe Adam was somewhere else while the devil was tempting Eve, but they were both in the garden. Did Adam neglect to protect Eve from the serpent? Maybe he was preoccupied watching a football game or in the garage shining up his classic Mustang. Why not? That's about as good as any other ridiculous idea people come up with in their own understanding.

Also, if you wanna get technical, God created the serpent and placed him in the garden for His own purposes. Do you think God was surprised how it transpired? Do you think God believed He made a mistake creating Adam and Eve the way that He did? Or do you think everything went exactly according to His plan?

In truth, it was a spiritual occurrence in the garden. Jesus said only the Holy Spirit can give you understanding about the things of God. Don't you believe Him? How do you figure you can narrate some little logical story out of an absolutely incredibly amazing miraculous work of Almighty God?

Haven't you yet learned that it's impossible to understand the things of God with your logical/natural mind?

I repeat:
It is impossible to understand the things of God with your logical/natural mind.

I Corinthians 2:11-14

Even so the thoughts of God no one knows except the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may know the things freely given to us by God, which things we also speak, not in words taught by human wisdom, but in those taught by the Spirit, combining spiritual thoughts with spiritual words. But a natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised.

Did you get that?

The Bible constantly says that Adam was at fault for bringing sin into the world, not Eve (although both Jewish and Christian history have tried to place the blame on her). God had essentially appointed Adam as the chieftain of creation (and Eve as the female equivalent). As such, God had made Adam responsible for his wife and for the children they would have and for the world they lived in. But he failed. He listened to the serpent (and I don't think he could've kicked the serpent out of the garden). So, while Eve played her part in The Fall, as did the serpent, Adam is primarily responsible for plunging creation into sin.

Doesn't it make sense then to say that anything you learned by studying in your own understanding or anything you were taught by human wisdom puts us in error?

If the Holy Spirit did not reveal something to you, it is not truth.

I John 4:2

This is how you can know the Spirit of God: every spirit that acknowledges Jesus Christ come in the flesh belongs to God.
And every spirit that does not confess Jesus, is not from God; this is the spirit of the antichrist.

*****************************

So there ya have it, folks. Are you confessing Jesus Christ has come? Or are you exalting your interpretation and interpretations you learned from some other human? God said it's one or the other. Life or death.

You have twisted my meaning.
Women are already desirable. They don't really have to do a whole lot to impress.
They already have what a guy wants....he wants a woman.
But for a guy, he has to have these standards and qualifications
or the woman is going to move on and find the guy who has them.

Most guys that are lonely are just happy to have someone that's going to
stay by his side and be faithful, if he's lucky enough to get that,
but the woman already has what he wants. She's a woman!

I'm saying that as a compliment to womanhood in general.
I love women and think they're God's finest creation.....
that's why He saved the best for last, and in their specialness,
they can afford to be particular, and want the best, which they deserve.

But as a guy who just wasn't good enough when I was younger, and now
I've gotten old so even Less desirable, (not that I ever was), the
opportunity to be that is pretty much gone.

But I'm not saying women just get some drunk from an asylum.....
Or some guy that just throws himself her way...not at all! But
there are a lot of decent guys all around, lonely and just need a chance.

But this started because I pointed out that most of the guys that get that chance have already had it....even a few times, often having a family even,
and seem to be the ones that get the attention, but the guys that never really were given a chance, though just as lonely, or more, continue to be alone.

I was just pointing out the facts I've both observed and experienced, not intending to be insulting AT ALL, but what you said about going for twenties was pretty cold and mean.
How do you think it makes a guy feel to be accused of that?
There wouldn't be a twenty year old that would want me anyway,
even if that's what I was about, which I'm not.

And mostly women my age aren't interested in an 'eros' love at this point anyway, or have had their share, and now their focus in life is other things, and someone like me just isn't necessary or wanted anymore, so that really didn't make me feel too good.

But I've come to expect that.

Being put down for being alone all my life is common.
If I had been in other relationships in my life, the response would have been different, that was my point proven.

And I pray our heavenly Father gives you the desires of your heart, too, and keeps you and the kids well-protected in these crazy days, and keeps you joy-filled in Jesus' name. Amen.

She didn't say that. She said do you look at how easy 20 year olds can get a man.
Stop speaking negative. God can give you someone tomorrow. My ex is 56. He prayed for a wife, I prayed for him, went to a dating site to delete his account. Bam. 50 some year old supermodel from Brazil, on fire for the Lord and as one of the few not after his money 'cause he has no money. Married her a year later. And he really doesn't look better than you. Just knows who he is in Christ and that if you ask you receive.
