Why do men suddenly disappear?

I'm not a guy, but I have done the disappearing act myself...( I know, but I am a nice person, honest)

It's just things aren't working out, so you leave. Why don't you give a warning? Because they want let you say,"oh, sorry things aren't working out for me, we should find other people." They'd call you names and make you feel terrible and you end up staying not to hurt them(this is for me any way). So disappearing is the easiest because you can leave. And both of you can find better people instead of trying to make something work that isn't. Sometimes it can just be because things are boring though.

All in all, it's all about finding the right person. Not attempting to make the wrong person right

its easy for a person to walk than to talk about it. Hoping things will sort itself out, but it doesnt thats how people are in the world. As for closure? well in there minds, walking out is there closure. Men and women are as bad as each other. How much does a women keep from a man, and vise versa? how much of the information do we actually share? You could have a secret crush on someone, but would you tell your husband or the person you are with? same goes for the men. So commuication is another issue. sadly its what most relationships lacks.

Being responsible in something we really dont fully understand is the hardest thing in our lives. we will never get it right when it comes to relationships. So, to me, being responsible is out of the question in a manor of speak. Maturity? well that falls in the same catagory of being responsibility. Sadly thats how the world has gone, and going. It all boils down to love. and when it says in the bible that the love of many will grow cold. You can see that happening. and sorry to say this, but it will get worse in these end times.

actually, i remember a guy who actually was honest with me and said he didn't want to be friends anymore. i still don't understand why (i'm a flippin delight ya know!!! haha jk). i was bitter and angry with him for a while, but then i got over it.

interesting enough, a couple of months after he "disappeared," he added me on facebook. that confused me lol

i have never disappeared, but then again I never had anyone to disappear from.

I am SO just kidding! That's horrible but cracked me up the first time I heard it.

as a woman who used to pull the disappearing act (in person) not online:

guys who are moving too fast would seriously weird me out. guys who assume the relationship is much further than it is. guys who crowded me, acted jealously or possessively.

generally, the earlier the relationship, the higher the likely that something like this happens, though. in any early relationship you have to be extremely observant of boundaries.

also, as a woman, i would really caution you against "chasing" a guy. i think it's a terrible recipe for mostly disaster. there are a million reasons i could give, but since this isn't what the thread is about, i'll just say that i think chasing a guy means that you can easily be in a relationship with someone who values the relationship a lot less than you do. and since it's online, it's easier or there are less consequences to simply disappear.

Can't the same be said for women, too? Both just disappear when things start getting too real for them. Let's not make one gender out to be worse than the other.

I can only think or make a stab at it - afraid of commitment - having different perspectives, the guy thinks it's going terrible, the girl things it's going great

not every guy will run, building and keeping a relationship is something very special and should be embraced so not all of us are afraid and will stick around.

I agree. Everything can be ok if he chases her, but maybe if she starts to like him he panics and runs away? Just one guess.
