I was just on a forum and Catholosisim came up. I got nothing against people who are catholic but I don't consider them to be Christian either. I here there are quite a few differences between them and a Christian church. My friends Catholic and I'm trying to convince him to convert. But he's in the mindset once a Catholic always a Catholic. Or are the differences minor and nothing to worry about? Most people seem to think so.

I dont have a problem with the people either. I love em to bits like everyone else..but their belief system is just too infiltrated by the enemy to consider them a good choice to go with

Yeah, I'm so frequently wrong I always got to add "I could be wrong" at the end of what I say lol. Thanks for the list I'll show my friend this. From what I hear the 2nd commandment isn't even in there Catechism. I also heard the higher ups are Satanic. It wouldn't surprise me with all those molestation cover ups.

Lol! That's good! So whats your opinion on it? Is praying to an image of Jesus Idol worship? Or is it fine as long as God know's where your heart is?

Well they dont pray to the rosary. The text they use (besides that mary stuff) is really good and it helps them to focus. theres a protestant rosary aswell. Its nothing for me but theres pros and cons. its nothing for me but it helps some people to get in a very spiritual state with God.
To pray to a cross or nail something on a cross is a nogo.. the praying to it is idolatry and the nailing on it is pegan.

The core concept behind the catholic church is denial of the divinity of Christ for earthly power. It's written all over their manmade law, directly contradicting scripture.

It's an antichrist religion.

It may be true that there are good catholics out there with the truth of Jesus as their center, but that church itself is built around the occult.

The papacy has its hands in all kinds of stuff under the surface that people wouldn't notice immediately. It's the seat of a lot of conspiracy - They are powerul and they carry out satan's work here on earth a lot.

I think God wants his children to be united in one Church, rather than "stabbing" each other

The problem is that there is so much deception in the world today even in the church that people are being led into immorality and false teaching wholesale.

Catholics love God like anybody else having talked to them, and some quite devoted, which my grandparents were strict Catholics, and strict with their lifestyle, but for the most part they do not pay too much attention to what is taught, for it sounds right to them.

Cults, and weird interpretations, especially the new age movement, can happen, because they can take scriptures out of context, and it sounds right to them, which the only way to get them to understand,is if they are willing to give you a shot at telling them your interpretation, and then you have to patiently wade through the muck,to clear things up.

They are some denominations that are not that bad, that even though they may be off on a few scriptural truths,it does not do any real damage, and for the most part they got it down, and believe the Gospel of Christ, but some have serious errors, which the ones that have serious errors, are not because they start fresh learning the Bible of when that denomination started, but they dragged something in to it of grave error, and it became kind of like their foundation for the interpretation of scripture.

It is obvious when the Roman Empire embraced Christianity, and the Bible, that they did not abandon all their religious ways that they have practiced, but held unto them, and dragged them in to the Bible, and it kind of became their foundation of the interpretation of scriptures.

So the Roman Catholic Church will do things that can be on the pagan side, and hold tradition as having importance, and doing other things other religions do,and so forth, and that is why Mary can be the Queen of heaven, and the mother of God,and the Pope can be the Holy Father, and the head of the Church, and practices using material objects thinking there is power there, confessing sins to a priest, and so forth.

The differences are MAJOR not minor.

To begin with, in 1854 the Catholic Church declared Mary to have been born without sin. This doctrine was to answer the question, how could Jesus be born without sin if Mary was a sinner? By claiming Mary was sinless she could not then pass on sin to Jesus which then keep Him free from sin.

The major flaw in this Theology is Mary's mother then had to be sinless so Mary would have no sin nature to pass onto Jesus. The Catholics got around this sticky little problem by claiming Mary's mother did not need to be sinless because God keep Mary free from sins.

In other words, God had the power to keep Mary free from sin but yet somehow He was powerless to keep His only Son free from sin.

Paul in Romans 3 and Romans 5 clearly states all have sinned.

Flee the Catholic Church! Its a trap set up by Satan to keep people in bondage to him.

I was born a Catholic, but at age 35 I began to understand who Jesus was and I got baptized in an evangelical church. I'll never be a Catholic again, but I don't think of myself as better than the average Catholic. I always bear in mind the story of the good samaritan. The priest and the Levite - who were "religiously correct" didn't stop to help the victim. But the samaritan - whose religion was wrong - was the only one who bothered to help that victim.

I was born and raised in the Catholic Church. At age 20 Jesus came looking for me and found me. I left the Catholic Church for a True Christian Church.

I gave up everything to be a Christian. All of my family and relatives refuse to have anything to do with me ever. Still to this day all of my family still refuse to even talk to me. I gave up everything!

My mom still occasionally gives me a hard time too. It can be a real struggle. The Catholic church still has a mean game of BINGO and I have gone to the occasional Friday night fish fry.

I was baptized and raised a Catholic and when young was forced to attend weekly catechism. In my teens I started to read the bible for the first time and realized that most of the teachings and doctrines were contrary to what is taught in scripture.

I no longer attend weekly mass. When I was young I would use to light a candle for special petitions to God but soon realized that this was not biblical either, along with praying to Mary, and confessing my sins to a priest while calling him Father.

Not if it means compromising Biblical belief.

The catholics have much thinking to do, although there are RC churches which are nearly Protestant lol But they are a minority.

I was born and raised in the Catholic church as well. My mother is devout Catholic (has been all of her life) and is very upset that I no longer attend the Catholic church. She never calls me anymore. I always have to call her and when I talk with her, she is always trying to woo me back to the Catholic church and is not interested in hearing anything that I have to say about the gospel of Christ. I rarely ever talk with anyone else in my family either. I feel like an orphan. :(
