Maybe sacrilege but no one is obligated to respect anyone else's religion
Exactly. And no one is obligated to respect lifestyles that are condemned by God.

Or would you rather live in a fascist police state where we persecute anyone who believes differently than us.
We live in a fascist police state. We're enduring the sword of liberal secularism.

Funny how they say gay marriage destroys Family Values, coming from people like Kim Davis is on her 4th marriage

Are you saying that gay marriage does NOT destroy family values? Because it most certainly does. It destroys any chance of becoming a christian. A person cannot be a practicing homo AND a christian. It destroys the normality of the child of a gay parent by making them think that having two mommies or two daddies is okay and acceptable. It ruins the way God intended a REAL marriage to be..

Ok here's where some of you have it twisted. Just because we happen to follow the Bible doesn't mean that other people are going to and that's their constitutional right not to. Or would you rather live in a fascist police state where we persecute anyone who believes differently than us. You can't force anyone else to read follow or believe the Bible. That's not a right that you have. Jesus Christ told his disciples to go forth and preach the gospel. He didn't say go forth and persecute anyone who doesn't believe

Jesus also said that it is a sin and an abomination for a man to lie down with another man, and a woman with another woman. These homo's KNOW they are sinning. They don't care. They figure love is love, whether they love another man, or a woman. They also seem to think that gay marriage is okay and that they should be able to marry just like straight people do. You are right in the sense that we cannot make them read the bible and follow God's commands. BUT we CAN refuse to tolerate their gay pride rallies and parades, doing PDA's in public, and not condone their lifestyle just because "they are people too". Gays are abominations, and that's GOD'S opinion, not mine..

He didn't "choose heterosexuality". He chose to hide his sin of being gay. Appearances can be deceiving, obviously.
How did he not choose heterosexuality (at the very least he chose to act like a heterosexual)? He married a woman and had children with her thinking he'd somehow become ungay/straight.

I also strongly disagree with the bold. The bible makes no mention that merely having homosexual desires is a sin; it's the execution/acting on those gay desires that is the sin. This is a huge a fundamental difference.

Sounds like you are comparing and equating sexual desires and perversions with race... which is completely without logic biblically or legally ...
Nope, I didn't do that at all. I said what I said and not what are you're saying it sounds like I'm comparing. You quoted my post and I specifically said I wasn't comparing them at all, but rather discrediting our legislatures as being a sort of moral compass.

Personally I don't agree with their lifestyle either but they do have a constitutional right to express themselves just like everyone else. I hate the Ku Klux Klan with every fiber of my being but as long as they are not threatening anyone then they still have a constitutional right to speak. It seems there is a good amount of cherry-picking that goes on among fundamentalist Christians. Why aren't they out picketing strip clubs and porn theaters?

So you're saying there is nothing wrong with the desire to sin? Just as long as we dont act on it? The Bible says "as a man thinks in his heart,so is he". Doesn't desire cause action?

Ok,Ive let the conversation continue and not interrupted. But the OP was about a homosexual inside the Christian church. Not sure who derailed the thread,I'll go back and check. But we are way off topic. I would appreciate if we get back to the OP. A "Christian" singer is coming out as gay and saying God is ok with that. Commence discussion...

I'm confident you hate Black Panthers who intimidate people at voting stations. But I digress.

If every man was gay but me, I'd have all the women.

Is it just me, or does Dude come to every conversation about homoexuality and go on and on about laws and hw we need to accept it. I dont understand what hes trying to do here, other than make us look bad in order to make himself look like the good guy.

Dont think this thread was at all about how this man needed to be punished : /

I think this is a gossip thread. Because he's a singer what?He is a broken brother with struggles.. We should pray for him and his family not discuss what we don't agree with.. Our fight is not physical.. xx

I think this conversation hangs on a thin wire : p I took that post to mean those who deal with the temptation, and not like those who actually in their heart wish they could do these things but dont just to "appease" the Lord : p

Temptation is not a sin. Making the conscious choice to follow it is, including doing so in your heart without following it out in your actions.

I'm not implying that anyone should accept anything. But you don't have the right to tell someone what they can and can't do based on your religion. What if a Muslim told me I can't eat a pork chop because it's against his religion. Live your life according to your beliefs and convictions and let everyone else do the same. It's not really that complicated

I dont think its a gossip thread. This is someone with the power of influence over those who listen to his music. And not just with his music, but also by the way he lives his life and the things hell say outside of his music. So when a young Christian whos just learning to come to the Lord, especially one who may be starting to deal with these urges himself, sees this man, he will think that it must be okay, but this man loves the Lord and is doing it. He will put this mans life and actions over the word of God, and follow him. It works to lead others away from God. By living this life, he becomes a tool of satan. Call it hate speech, but thats what it is.

And this is an online forum, a place for discussion. It is good to have these discussions, too. That young new believer I was talking about may be here reading this thread, too. We should be there to console them to the Lord if we need to.

Actually, we should be doing just that. If you read the bible, youd see we are very much to warn people of God and sin.

If you dont warn the world of what you know is true, they will continue to follow that path, and they will die. And the blood will be on your hands, because you knew better, but you did not warn them.

No, that is not what this thread is about at all. Someone always manages to take it off course somehow.
