okay, if we are going for little catch phrases...
Disobeying the King that you claim you love and following made-up rituals of men is like drinking from an empty glass.
To replace Jesus Christ as the eternal rest of God who has come with a day of the week, is to live in disobedience to the King.

Acts 2:46. They met daily.

That means they did meet on Sunday.....and Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. But not to have church 'services' as we know it but to fellowship one with another in an open gathering with everyone sharing their gifts/functions, everything done decently and in order.

So in all actuallity, no true fellowship according to the bible, is happening on any day of the week, save for a handful through out the world.
Where 2 or 3 are gathered in His Name sharing Jesus back and forth, that's going on here and there all the time. They just don't know that that's the legitimate assembly Christ longed for and truly blesses. Not in some building on a certain day. That's barnum and bunkum and may I add....bogus. Puke!

So the sunday folks and the saturday folks are missing the whole gospel point! Neither of you can discern His body and what He truly desires. 'Away with your meetings, I cannot bear your sabbaths, your worthless assemblies.'Isaiah 1:13

And by the way....neither can I. Its getting this late and both of you still don't get it!!?? It's appalling!

You need to fall on your religious knees, both of you, and repent of all the apostate foolishness!

“Question - Which is the Sabbath day?
“Answer - Saturday is the Sabbath day.
“Question - Why do we observe Sunday instead of Saturday?
“Answer - We observe Sunday instead of Saturday because the Catholic Church, in the Council of Laodicea (A.D. 364), transferred the solemnity from Saturday to Sunday.” Peter Geiermann, C.S.S.R., The Convert’s Catechism of Catholic Doctrine, p. 50, 3rd edition, 1957
You got all that LAW down pat huh?

The bible says the problem with the law is,if you break one command, you are just as guilty as if you broke every one of them.
You have never come to terms with that huh?

You do not know your bible. Heb 3 and 4 deals with the believers rest. See,this is where you messed up. The REST of the NT, is a person, not a day.

It even says, some were unable to enter it because of their evil unbelief.

As if that weren't enough,we see in another place that Paul says " some hold one day higher than another, some hold everyday the same. Let not he that observes a day higher,....."

Can't remember the rest of it,but it basically says not to beat others over the head with special day ordinances.

......yet another law policeman thread.

do no murder? is that Judaism? wow.
I just love quasi-Hebrew religionists. Try to make Christians into OT servants of the law.

Col 2:20 Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances,
21 (Touch not; taste not; handle not;
22 Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men?
23 Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body; not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh.

first off, the Holy Days are not Israel's. They are God's. Read Leviticus 23. He says, "these are MY Feasts".
secondly, if you want to be able to partake in the eternal inheritance, you might want to join Israel. There are no covenants of promise for gentiles.

Roger, read your own post. "rudiments of the world", "commandments and doctrines of men". Surely you don't think this is referring to the perfect law of God, right?

Sure I did. I am guilty. I have a Savior. That does not give me a license to keep on sinnin'.

We all do.

Sins of omission.

Sins of the thought life.

We all need Jesus, since ordinances only prove our imperfect human ness.

You never once, that I know of,addressed the added law of Jesus and his law breaking of the Sabbath.

Why would those 1st Christians who knew they were not under the law make it seem as though they were still under it?

If they understood the letter to the Galatians and that all who are of the work of the law are under the curse why would they attempt to be working at the law???

It would make no sense.

We are going to meet on saturday because that is what the law says that we aren't under????

If a person wants to be under Law why don't they just convert to Judaism. Why try to make a mockery of Christianity?

I commend anyone walking Holy. It is a good and worthy ambition. I regularly go to the "u pull it junk yard" as I do mechanic work. If there is a quarter,or any money in the car,I leave it,or turn it in.

Why?

Because if my superior character?

My flawless obedience?

OT commandments via Moses?

Not really. My reason is CONSCIENCE. It would hurt my awesome relationship with my LORD. It would be offensive. It would put a wedge between us.

So,part of my walk is dealing with wedges, but the coins in the cars are not one of them.

You really can't come up with enough ordinances. The OT is not large enough

In the OT, they had a offering for the "sin of ignorance",or a sin committed out of ignorance.

The " ignorance sacrifice"

Mark Twain said " it's not the the bible verses I don't understand that bother me. It's the ones I do understand"

Funny how that works

Acts 20:7

the first [day] of the week in this verse is a work day,
Paul was traviling by foot at daylight .

His companions set sail after dark , Paul was to catchup,
they sailed around the penisula and he was walking.

There are thousands and thousands of people who put food on the table for their kids without working on the 7th day. For the last 3+ years, I am one of them. I am not trying to condemn you. Keeping the law is not a way of earning salvation. It is just a matter of obeying the King. Just think about it.
Then why do you constantly preach this? If it isn't as important as salvation why aren't you posting on salvation instead of this?

The messianic Jew has a dilemma. That OT is like their DNA. It is life and sacred to them. At conversion there is a bit of tearing.

Their family, many times ostracizes them. It is gut wrenching, and hurt ful. They are covenant. Covenant through Abraham. Gods beloved and chosen people.

There is a very, very strong pull to go back, and to blend in things. Some is ok.

But,what happens is a subtle replacement. They end up with a new righteousness, and exalt law over the law giver.

Galations deals with this very issue.

Who or what do you Worship disciplemike? Do you Worship God or are you Worshiping the Law?

The Law was given to show us we cannot keep the Law. So why are you trying to put yourself back under the Law? Can the Law save you? No. Can the Law make you Righteous? No. Can the Law Justify you? No.

Jesus came to fulfill the Law.

We are under Grace.

Does this mean we can break the Law? No. It means we are no longer under the Law.

Romans 3:20
[SUP]20 [/SUP]Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

Romans 3:28
[SUP]28 [/SUP]Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith apart from the deeds of the law.

We are Justified by Faith apart from the Law. Does this mean we can break the Law? No. It means we cannot be Justified by the Law!

By your trying to keep the Law, the Law will not Justify you. Try as you might you can never keep the whole Law.

Do you tithe exactly 10% of everything you have? Do you do everything required by the Law? No, you cannot. This is the point God is making. You cannot Justify yourself by the Law, its impossible.

We are Justified by Grace, not by trying to keep the Law.
