I went into work today and part of the roof had collapsed in from the rain we had over the weekend. We had a large amount of flooding happen and a water main break. I said this job had run it's course and this happened over the weekend. Plus last week a coworker of mine that works in that area of the plant was talking with me. He was saying things about the Bible basically bad mouthing it. He said and I quote him "How can you have the flood wipe out everything on the earth and have Abraham go to Egypt with Sarah and there be people and a bustling city."

I told him simple God blessed Noahs children and they had many children and enough time went by to repopulate the Earth. I said the Bible clearly states it. He still doesn't believe. However, I take what happened as a sign from God. My prayer is getting answered God is removing me from that job and blessing me with a new one. Praise the Lord I see it coming together.

Ummm, it's JMO but the roof caving in, and the water line break was NOT a sign from God. It was the result of poor maintenance of both the building and the water pipes. :)

I realize that. However, it held up all that time until I really started having a bunch oof people pray over me getting a new job I had an interview for last week. Sure it's poor maintenance but the timing to it over my prayers and everyone else's for that matter could make it seem like God was trying to show me something.

I am pretty blind to signs from God. So I guess He decided to do something big like this to get my attention. I agree it's due to poor maintenance but it seems very coincidental if you ask me.

hey Roger I have to agree with blue on this it wasn't a sign from God at least not one about getting a different job.You asked God for help getting a job correct? and he gave you one yes? it may have been a sign from him but perhaps a message of how his waters break the ceiling of our unbelief like with your friend for instance

I don't have the new job yet. I went to an interview last week. I am waiting to hear back from them. I have been thanking God for giving me a new job. I have to say about my coworker though he still chooses not to believe. He said I have gone in and out of there thousands of times and it could've fallen on me. I said you're right it could've done that. I spoke with him more on God. He keeps explaining everything away. I counter him with my knowledge of the Bible. He said I've had countless preachers try to convert me and I don't buy into that junk. His words not mine.

well the reason you aren't going to reach him right now is because your going about it the wrong way. countless preachers have tried to convert him and countering him with your knowledge of the bible isn't the way to go either. there are different ways to reach different people and preaching isn't the way for him and while I encourage you to answer his questions with biblical truth you aren't going to win his heart debates I think instead actions speak louder than words.

I think if he sees the changes in you and if he sees God's light and heart everyday he might become curious

Signs given by God are not for others to interpret. The most crazy or circumstantial or normal or supernatural signs all can be used by God. But the one who sees the sign is the one who gets a quickening in their spirit that God is speaking to them through it.

So basically, the sign itself is not to be interpreted, it is the "word" that comes with the sign that speaks to a person's heart. And then they just know.

Sometimes it is not always wise to tell people the signs God uses. It is best to just tell them that they feel a direction from God and it has been confirmed. That way no person is tempted to judge the sign, and maybe cast doubt on the direction you received.

This is not how the disciples or how Jesus witnessed.

I also disagree with the idea that the only way to win people to Christ is through your actions. While your actions are important, as in people will judge your master by your actions, they will do no more than lead people to think "well this Jesus must be a nice teacher". They need the word of God to understand who He is and why Hes important. So we should absolutely share the word of God with them. And debating is a part of it, as there are many false teachers out there spreading lies about Him (i.e. Jesus was just a prophet, Jesus was not God incarnate).

It could very well be sign from God spurring you to some type of action. I'm glad that it's all coming together for you.

Signs, signs.............everywhere there's signs......do this, don't do that.......

(what is a sign for one, may be happenstance for others...........shoot, we never know)

I used to laugh about people telling be they believed they had a sign from God. And then one day, in sincere prayer, I received what I knew was a sign from God, and I trusted in it/Him and everything worked out perfectly. I told some folks about it, and they laughed and scoffed. I just smiled 'n' said......well, your probably right.......but since then I don't try and determine what one sees as a sign from God, because God didn't intend that sign for me.

just saying.......

..and the sign said, "Long haired freaky people need not apply..."

Might need to get a hair cut. The freaky people part may prove to be problematic.

I'm happy that you happened across a new employment prospect. I would have to agree with Blue in that I find it more a coincidence than an answer from above, still.

Perhaps God kept the maintenance man busy elsewhere, so the roof would collapse at the right time :)

This is not always the case, sometimes God uses others to explain the meaning and purpose of the signs given in the same way dreams sometimes need to be interpreted by a fellow believer whom God has given the insight to explain it

there is not any one way to witness, sometimes it's powerful words spoken that shake the sleeping hearts other times it's fervent and powerful and passionate prayer other times it's a miracle that is simply unexplained by science or logic and other times still it is the light one shines simply be showing God's hearts through how they act and speak to other around them and in circumstances of all kinds and Jesus and his disciples did all of this

No one ever said it was the only way but I do believe this is the particular way to reach this co worker of his
