**clears throat loudly**

I'm just going to... uh... leave this here...

**sneaks off**
Take a few days off from here and see what happens?? Congratulations to both of you!!

No I can walk to school,
But every other day I have ROTC and have to go to Air Academy which is on base so that's a little further away and I've got to be there early.
So my brain has just "trained itself" to wake up at that time even on the Non-ROTC days
**hopes Temporary's stalking skills are weak

My boss' kids graduated from Air Academy

No they're at least an hour away. Thankfully the wind isn't blowing our way either. We got some ashes from the recent santa clarita fire even though it was an hour away. We're actually having some humidity where we are, which isn't normal for us. Its not helping the 100 degree weather lol.
The Santa Clarita fire is probably the on CA fire that I've followed in recent years. It burned a lot of acreage that I used to wander through in my 20's.

Does anyone else feel uncomfortable when guys say "females" in reference to women/girls. lol I was looking through the forums and this guy was saying that he wanted to meet "females" from his country. I don't know. I mean I know we are females (the girls) but it makes me feel like a dog. Why not use the word "women" or "ladies?" I think those words are better. What do ya'll think?

Depends on in which way I am referring to them. If just in general, then I use the gender term "female". To me, the terms woman or lady are too familiar. I've got issues though, so my input is not necessarily representative of a larger portion of the male populace.

This is reminding me of a habit my sister has of referring to all women as ladies except when she doesn't think they have earned the title; then she'll say (e.g.) "I was talking to that...WOMAN..." :D It is a matter of taste. To her, it is offensive to be called a woman. As for me, I dislike female too! But as long as they're not TRYING to be offensive, it doesn't bother me too much. :)

Just in my own crazy little dictionary:

Female - a human being possessing two X chromosomes
Woman - a human possessing two X chromosomes of sufficient age and physiological development to bare children
Lady - a human possessing two X chromosomes and a particular level of social/cultural/behavioral sophistication

You forgot Girl and Girlie.
Girl, Girlie, Dame, Broad, Skirt, and lots of others.

I'm trying to play here and watch re-runs of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, and TV is winning. I'm lazy tonight.

Too much... food...

*Lynx lies on his side and concentrates for a while on breathing enough to not pass out.

There's this restaurant called Catfish Country. All you can eat fish of different kinds, plus fries, hushpuppies, coleslaw, fried green tomatoes, corn on the cob... bunch of other stuff too. And homemade desserts - the banana pudding was COOKED, not that instant pudding junk!

So yeah, we went there for uncle Fred's birthday. Now I think I'll just lie here and rest for a while, and I might not eat until supper time, the day after tomorrow.

I kind of squirm when people call me Ma'am. I do understand why and it is respectful, but it makes me feel so old. The first time someone called me ma'am I was in shock. I went home and told my Husband I'm a ma'am now. It still makes me shudder a little.
