Have you talked with about the fireworks? That's usually the best policy. Explain to him that because of the age of many of the houses you're worried that a house will burn down. And if he scoffs at that, mention that you have a friend whose street neighbor's house burned down because of a firework. (That happened a few years ago at my old neighborhood, where it is legal.)
If that doesn't work, then you might get with a few of your other neighbors to talk with him. And if that still doesn't work, contact the police.
I don't know him , just one encounter. He was okay. He and his wife have had some yelling matches outside. So I am little afraid of them. They seem to have a lot of people living in the house or just older kid's, not sure. His backyard is lined up with the neighbors behind me back yard and you can hear anything if someone is loud enough. We put up a privacy fence a couple of years ago. So I don't see him. I just hear yelling matches between him and his wife at times. I think they have grandchildren that she babysits or they visit a lot, not sure. I hear kid's at times. I know they have a trampoline. Oh and they put a driveway in their front yard. I don't blame them, there are people parked all over their street so it must be crazy.
My block is very quiet, thank goodness. My neighbors next door on both sides are really nice. I live on a fairly busy road but the people around me are quiet. My Husband tells me not to worry about the fireworks and my kid's enjoy them. I am the only one thinking, please don't burn the house down. I usually sit in my bedroom with the AC on high calming animals. It's very enjoyable for me, lol. I like fireworks but the sound isn't my favorite and once years ago an old boyfriend of mine and me were at a legal fireworks show, an ash from one of them got him in the eye and I had to take him to the ER. It was bad he had to have drops for months and was in a lot of pain. It was strange, these were legal and far away from us, well at the park but they were on the other side so we weren't close or anything. Scared me from fireworks a bit.
