Oftentimes when I shop at WalMart I get thing's that the preschool where I work needs. Yesterday the Director gave me a small list and asked if I could pick some stuff up while I was shopping? I get reimbursed.

So yesterday I bought, 35 boxes of Crayola Crayons, hand soap, dish towels, Dish Soap a roasted chicken, some Pokemon card's, two t shirts, and some hair dye. I wonder if the cashier thought I really liked to color, play Pokemon, eat chicken while dying my hair?

One time I was at the dollar tree with my daughter and also bought some thing's for the school. Playdough, glue sticks, some sight word flash cards and my daughter bought a couple thing's. I think the total was about 25 dollars. So the cashier is ringing my stuff up and looks at my daughter then me and says, I can't believe you're buying her all this stuff. I was a little take back and said, I work at school she doesn't need 6 packs of glue sticks. Then she said, well that's good. So my daughter is looking at me like, what? So I said, uh, it's really my business what I decide to buy my child, isn't it? Then she said, well I guess, I was just saying. So I said, okay then, but it's really my business, isn't it? She gave me a dirty look and we paid took our stuff and left. She still works there and every now and then I have to go through her line when I'm there. She may not remember me, but last time I was there she complained about a customer who's child coughed. So of course I said, well people cough sometimes. But she always talks about stuff people buy. Guy in front of me last time had cat food a big can and she said, oh cat food. He said, yeah I have a cat, lol. I think she just annoys me.

Do do any of you ever have a cashier that makes a comment on your purchases?

I was once in a line for 10 items or less. After paying for the stuff the cashier says that I should've went to anther line since this was an express line and I exceeded the item limit. I said that I thought the sign said 20 items, and she pointed out to me that I had over 50 items. Actually, there were other empty lines at the time besides that one and no one was behind me at the time.

Fenner, you think you got problems.

Last week I went to the chemist for my 81 year old aunt and bought her some
hemerroid cream and some anti fungal cream (she gets thrush due to diabetes)
and also I've hurt my back so while I was there I bought for myself some
heat wraps and pain killers. Plus I was walking a bit bent over because of my back.

You should have seen the look of sympathy on the chemist's face. :D

Though not totally the same as the OP, I kinda have a story.

I work retail, and I work in a store with a pretty small team (just about 20 people). And everyone who works there knows everyone else who works there : p I sometimes like to get snacks at the end of the day, like some cookies and juice or something. And everytime I take it to one of the registers, the cashier likes to talk to me about what Im getting : p Sometimes its a friendly conversation, telling me they like what I got, or saying theyd like to try it to and asking me where I got my product. But one day I bought a pack of cookies, and the cashier was a guy that I often work with on truck days. He looked at my pack of cookies, gave me a shameful face and commented on how I shouldnt be eating such junk food.

Made me feel really guilty for my snack : (

I had an "episode" at the post office once.... I was mailing some books to a guy that bought them from me on ebay, and when I was going to pay for the postage, the teller told me that there was a much lower postage rate for books. I said, "ok, good. I didn't know that".

He then went on to tell me that I should reimburse the buyer because I had probably charged him too much for postage, and that doing so was the "honest" thing to do.

I told him that yes, I was very familiar with the concept of "honesty", and that I had not charged the buyer any postage at all... that I was paying for the postage.

He didn't have much to say after that.

Oh... another pet peeve.... go into Home Depot and ask an employee "do y'all have any 1/2" vinyl tubing?" And they say, "what do you need it for?"

My usual response is "what possible difference could that make? Do you have it or not?"

LOL, that exactly same thing happened to me whenever I was getting hemorrhoid cream for a kin (not the anti fungal cream, though), and I had just hurt my back skiing...the lady got so worried she told me to go see a doc:) That was very sweet of her, though:)

Boo! Next time say to him, thanks for your concern but my doctor told me that eating junk is never as bad as not minding your own business.

Exactly :D Come to think of it, it may have just been
vinegar I asked for that the cook wondered about.

My favourite for putting on fries is malt vinegar :)

Oh my goodness vinegar and French fries are the best! My parents used to take us to this Boardwalk restaurant in the summer that had deep fried fish and French fries with vinegar. Best dinner ever.

That almost makes it seem like you need their approval before theyll give it to you : p

Though it could have just been they were super curious and decided to ask, I know I have never until just now knew that people put vinegar on fries : p

One of the treats I remember as a kid in the summer time, is my parents would sometimes order fish and chips from a restaurant and we would have them for dinner. They were always wrapped in newspaper in those day, fries and all. One time we picked them up on the way to a family picnic at the lake, and it was so windy our paper plates were being blown upside down.

I know, it was funny to me because french fries without vinegar are just not the same. The only time I will not put a load of vinegar on my fries is when I am sharing them with my daughter. Or we are eating in my car at MacDonald's. But their fries are not real potatoes anyways :p PS we usually only eat in the car when we have the dogs with us, on the way to take them for a walk. Usually their fries are so overly salted, though, that they could use a good bath in the vinegar :D

Ugh the post office!! My husband is a mailman and I still hate going in there. Usually I just give it to him to send out.

One time my Sister and I were mailing two very large packages of baby supplies and clothing to my Niece in Montana. Neither one of us had ever mailed anything that large before and thought we had did everything right, address and everything. So we get there, it wasn't the one my husband works at they're very nice. I knew the guy behind the counter was very curt. He had no time for errors. So we get up there and he says, you didn't put the address on there in the right spot, you have to re write it and use these tags, he was all huffy and puffy. And he said, you'll have to go to the table and get out of line. So we do that, my Sister was upset asking me, why is he so rude? I didn't know he just is. Does Dave know him? Me again, I don't know, Dave can't do anything about his attitude. So we get it all together and get back in line and unfortunately got him again. Then he's asking if we want insurance, so my sister asks, what's the cost? He sighs and tells us the cost like we have asked him something so difficult. So she asks me, should we get it? The. He says, Ladies do you want it or not? So I said, yes, giving him my stink eye. I finally say, I'm not sure why, I don't know if you're having a bad day but you aren't being polite. He just mumbled something and I said, my Husband happens to have a high position with the postal service and I will tell him about this, Tim. Then we left, my Sister said, you liar, lol. I said, well maybe he'll start being nice to customers.

I did tell my Husband who can't do anything but he said, yeah I know who that is, he's very rude.

One of the first times I ever shopped in a Walmart was many years ago (near the turn of the century) when I was visiting my family in Ontario. I was impressed with how inexpensive everything was, and so bought a couple of tops, but then after getting them home realized they had to be returned because they were not just inexpensive but cheap = poorly made, not being constructed or sewn together properly. You know when you buy an item with spaghetti straps, and one of the straps is twisted in a way that can never be fixed? Stuff like that. I want my clothing items made properly, at least.

One place I like to shop is second hand stores. My daughter was reluctant to wear other people's cast-offs as was I when I was a teen and in my very early twenties, but like me she has since changed her mind, realizing some good deals are to be had, though more often these days they are out to scalp you like anybody else :p Still, if you haunt a favourite shop, you can usually, over a period of time, get some good deals and wonderful finds. For me it helps when I am clothes shopping that I don't really see anything unless it is some lovely shade of purple :D
