She's responsive and seems to have use of both sides of her body, although one side is definitely weaker than the other (eyelid and mouth drooping slightly on one side, one arm weaker than the other).
They're waiting until tomorrow to bring her completely out of anesthesia. She has a low-grade fever (normal after major surgery), but the seizures seem to have stopped, and the tumor and problematic blood vessel cluster has been removed.

We just completed Aboriginal week at school. I based it all around "The Lost Girl" (gorgeous book used for articulating characters, settings, complications, resolutions).
For a visual display for inspiration I put out didgeridoos, paintings and explored mother nature as a prime communicator for guiding us when we're lost, without the use of words and what we can anticipate is ahead of us: i.e: the weather. I just adore teaching students literacy, it's the one of the powerful skills to develop within a student to equip them for life.

Strange. I've never been able to find me online. I've searched by full name, state, county and town of residence, etc...
Apparently I don't exist. But my SSN works for the things that require it, so whatever.

Depending on their age, I think it is a good idea for them to walk to class by themselves. School sometimes have these policies of a child not being alone in the hallway due to safety reasons, which I can also understand. (They can run off, leave school, etc etc). However, that barely ever happens. I don't think you are being unreasonable for wanting to "cut the cord." I am currently trying to teach my students independence already because I believe it is important at their age.

I understand the first day for such little kids, but then again, my Children's Pre-School teachers met them the class at the door and walked everyone up. I thought that was a great idea. It was very welcoming and their class mates were there and they could sit with them, it was nice. I honestly think it might help with the amount of tears. Of course you're going to have kid's that cry and we handle that very gently. Last year we had a mess, poor girl was crying, the Mother wouldn't leave. So then 3 other kid's started to cry. The Teacher was telling the Mom that it was fine, she'd be okay and it was best if she'd go. So she went into another room and waited and about every five minutes the Director had to check on her for the Mom, ugh. After meeting the parent's the other night I don't think we'll have that issue this year. I hope not.
I tried to do something about it. It's a very tedious process. Some 7 years ago, I started buying domains for blogs and I had no idea about domain privacy then. So my domain whois lists almost all of my important information. What's worse is that I used my parents' address. So their info is out there too. Ugh.
I went through all my social media accounts sometime last year, and deleted all the useless ones (took forever, btw), set everything else that's left, as private. STILL, my updated info is leaking out to interwebs. Ugh. Seriously. Oh well. A name change is pretty expensive so we'll prolly just have to shrug it off for now.
