I'd hope if a man was telling me that he found me attractive and liked my personality that
he'd be truthful about that. When I was in the dating world I never liked men who bragged or boasted. I didn't care about fancy cars. If a guy could make me laugh and we had fun together that was always attractive to me. When someone is lying about thing's you find out the truth pretty quickly.

I know I shared my compulsive liar former colleague story in another thread and it was still on my mind during my visit with my sister this weekend so we started exchanging stories of some absurd lies we've been told just for no reason at all, fake illnesses, fake tragedies, inflated lifestyles, and such. I don't need to hear weird back stories, explanations, and excuses when I'm not even invested in whatever the situation is...I'd rather just not be told anything at all. My sister used to manage people and would get some elaborate detailed voicemails on why they were calling out...a simple "I'm not going to be in today" is usually all that's necessary if you have available time, instead of making up deaths or claiming you have some form of disease only found in the tropics, complete with graphic descriptions of the symptoms.

Reminds me of a fella that used to work for a friend of mine. Over the course of a year, he used the excuse his grandmother died...4 times.

I don't think any woman wants to be lied to, I think men just tell
themselves that to justify the lie and play the field.

what women want especially young girls, is to feel loved and to belong
to someone who loves them. If a young man comes along and tells them
that, the woman will believe them because they are desperate to belong and
not be left on the shelf.

you know what?

i started talking with my now fiance via the interwebz. email, texts, then phone calls. it didn't even dawn on me to skype with him before meeting up in person lol. i just trusted he was the real deal. lol.
