you seem not to see the wisdom of Paul here do you, Paul has received something new(unprecedented)
and he knew just how careful he had to be in introducing them to the new revelation.
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom:
and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom:
[a good understanding] have all they [that do] his commandments:
his praise endureth for ever.

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge:
but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

that is what everyone tries to say,
but that is [not] what that verse says.
the jews where not even there when Paul said that

“And when [the Jews were gone out of the synagogue], the Gentiles besought
that these words might be preached to them the next sabbath.”
What??? the Jews were not in the synagogue...you do know that a synagogue is where "Jews" meet?

Here at the start of the meeting - Paul is talking to "men of Israel" and "you who fear God" these are the God-fearing Gentile proselytes who had converted to Judaism.

Acts 13:15-16 (NASB)
[SUP]15 [/SUP] After the reading of the Law and the Prophets the synagogue officials sent to them, saying, "Brethren, if you have any word of exhortation for the people, say it."

[SUP]16 [/SUP] Paul stood up, and motioning with his hand said, "Men of Israel, and you who fear God, listen:

So, you actually think that the Gentiles that were not God-fearing went to the synagogues all the time?

This is what is really being said. It says that "the people" which is referring to the Jews and Gentile proselytes as we see in the next verse. It's very important to read scripture in context.

Acts 13:42-43 (NASB)
[SUP]42 [/SUP] As Paul and Barnabas were going out, the people kept begging that these things might be spoken to them the next Sabbath.

[SUP]43 [/SUP] Now when the meeting of the synagogue had broken up, many of the Jews and of the God-fearing proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas, who, speaking to them, were urging them to continue in the grace of God.

Act 16:12 And from thence to Philippi, which is the chief city of that part of
Macedonia, and a colony: and we were in that city abiding certain days.

Act 16:13 And on the sabbath we went out of the city by a river side,
where prayer was wont to be made; and we sat down, and spake unto
the women which resorted thither.
-
Act 17:1 Now when they had passed through Amphipolis and Apollonia,
they came to Thessalonica, where was a synagogue of the Jews:

Act 17:2 And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them,
and three sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures,

-
Act 18:1 After these things Paul departed from Athens, and came to Corinth;
Act 18:2 And found a certain Jew named Aquila, born in Pontus, lately come from Italy,
with his wife Priscilla; (because that Claudius had commanded all Jews to depart
from Rome and came unto them.
Act 18:3 And because he was of the same craft, he abode with them,
and wrought: for by their occupation they were tentmakers.

Act 18:4 And he reasoned in the synagogue every sabbath,
and persuaded the Jews and the Greeks.

In each case Paul was preaching to Gentiles in Gentile cities on the Sabbath.
it is recorded over 80 times Paul preached to gentials on the sabbath day.

and this was after Acts 13:46

People that are classified as Greeks / Gentiles that went to the synagogues were the God-fearing proselytes and anyone who "heard" of what is being spoken about - the same thing happens in every church in the world.

Paul went to speak to the Jew first...so the Jews went to the synagogue on their Sabbath and Paul would go too - to talk with them and preach Christ - not preach the Law.

If you want all the Jewish people and Gentile proselytes at one place - go to the synagogue when they meet. Makes perfect sense.

Show us your over "80 times" in scripture that Paul preached to the gentiles on the Sabbath day.

Again..here is what the scripture actually says. The proselytes Gentiles and the Jews are "the people" being spoken off.

Gentiles that were NOT proselytes did not hang around the Jewish synagogue to listen to their religion...selah

you don't really know who a believer is do you? Christ has become the believers wisdom. " And of him (God) are ye(the believer) in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom and righteousness and sanctification and redemption (1 Cor 1:30)".you see here that Paul walked in the wisdom of God which is Christ in Him, as he carried out his ministry.

How did the Jews "go out" if they were not there in the first place??

There were no Jews in the synagogue on the Sabbath day?
That's your position?

Good grief. :p

Again disciplemike. All you have to do to put the issue of keeping the Sabbath to rest is show us where in the Scriptures did God tell us Saturday was the Sabbath.

To date you have not shown even one line of Scriptures where God said the Sabbath is Saturday.

We do keep the Sabbath. We keep Sunday as the Sabbath. Therefore we are keeping the 4th Commandment. Its your decision to keep Saturday as the Sabbath. This then is the day you are to keep Holy. We have decided to keep Sunday as our Sabbath day. God never told us in the Scriptures which day is the Sabbath because the Sabbath was made for man to enjoy.

It was the Jewish people who made man for the Sabbath with all their man made laws, keeping men in bondage to the Sabbath. You can stay in bondage all you want, but for me I am free in Christ to keep Sunday as the Sabbath and there is nothing you can do to change it.

I was talking about that one meeting,
the verse plainly says [the Jews left the building].

[then]the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them the next sabbath.

again why did Paul just teach them the very next day?
instead of waiting to talk to willing people A whole week

God said "Remember to keep holy the Sabbath" to the Jewish people. They didn't chose Saturday, it was already decided by God and they were compelled to keep it. If they were keeping the wrong day God would have told them and there would be a record of this in scripture.

this should prove the Sabbath day was known back then.

There is NO natural weekly cycle in nature that man can follow, or from the stars.
It is from creation week, when God placed his presence in it making it holy and known.

how did Noah know how to record months and years when the flood happened,
if he did not know Gods calander or new moons

Abraham lived in Ur of the Chaldees, a city in Babylon at the heart of
the civilized world. Archeological evidence reveals that the Babylonians
.
They knew the cause of the eclipses, and … could predict them. …

They had correct views of the structure of the solar system, and knew the
order of emplacement of the planets”
(John William Draper, History of the Conflict Between Religion and Science).

Other history books corroborate that when the Greeks conquered Babylon,
they discovered advanced astronomical observations and even a map
representing the world as round, with Babylon near the center.

Babylonian priests knew where the sun, moon and planets were positioned,
recognized their orbits and calculated where they would appear at any
given time in the future.

The world traces its astronomical knowledge to Babylon.

They waited until the next time that the Jews all met in one place and had the time to devote to listening - and that is their own Sabbath day. The exact same thing happens every week across the world. ....most people meet on 1 day and listen to what is being said.

Remember, Paul was to go to the Jew first - the Jews met on a specific day which was their Jewish Sabbath. That's why he went there - to preach Christ - not to preach them the Law. The Law is read in all synagogues. Christians have died to the law SO THAT we could be joined to Another - Christ Himself.

-Astronomy observence

"By calculating the eclipses, it can be proven that no time has been lost and the
creation days were seven, divided into 24 hours each."—Dr. Hinkley,
The Watchman, July 1926 [Hinkley was a well-known astronomer].

"The human race never lost the septenary [seven day] sequence of week days and
that the Sabbath of these latter times comes down to us from Adam, though the ages,
without a single lapse."—Dr. Totten, professor of astronomy at Yale University.

"Seven has been the ancient and honored number among the nations of the earth.
They have measured their time by weeks from the beginning. The origin of this was
the Sabbath of God, as Moses has given the reasons for it in his writings."
—Dr. Lyman Coleman.

"There has been no change in our calendar in past centuries that has affected in
any way the cycle of the week."—James Robertson, Director American Ephemeris,
Navy Department, U.S. Naval Observatory, Washington, D.C., March 12, 1932.

"It can be said with assurance that not a day has been lost since Creation, and all
the calendar changes notwithstanding, there has been no break in the weekly cycle."
—Dr. Frank Jeffries, Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society and Research
Director of the Royal Observatory, Greenwich, England.

There is no question about which day the seventh day of the week is. The weekly cycle

the break between the shift from the Julian to the Gregorian calendar?
There was a well known break of 10 days.

In 1582, that Thursday the 4th was followed by Friday the 15th.
The weekly cycle was not interrupted. Now take a look at 1752, Wednesday
the 2nd was followed by Thursday the 14th. Again, the calendar had to be
adjusted to correct it to the seasons but the weekly cycle remained unchanged.

I have studied the Scriptures. There are NO verses claiming Saturday is the Sabbath! No where in the Scriptures has God ever said Saturday is the Sabbath day.

Therefore to teach God made Saturday the Sabbath is a big lie from Satan who loves to deceive the weak people.

I challenge anyone to show the book, chapter, and verse where God has said Saturday is the Sabbath day we are to keep Holy.

It was the Jewish people who chose Saturday as their Sabbath day, not God.

yes sir. and I guess you can call your landlord, "landlord", but that is not his name.
even if your landlord does speak English.
Yes, exactly!

God's name doesn't appear in the NT. I think that's significant. If the apostles didn't write it, should I?
