I understand where you are coming from. I don't really see your friend's situation as God giving her life continually. It's true that God could intervene and not allow her to conceive. I think that God for the most part does not interfere with conception and allows things to take their natural course. If he stopped every unfit parent from conceiving, the population would die out quickly, lol. God is also merciful and gives penitent sinners a chance to have a new and fulfilled life. Just because he is merciful doesn't mean our sin is any less horrific though.
I don't think that a woman who has had an abortion is beyond redemption or the ability to become a good mother in the future. However, an abortion is not an "oops" moment. It's the destruction of life. Any woman who fluffs an abortion off as being anything other than a huge sin doesn't really understand the character of God. God is the giver of life and loves children. " Suffer the little children to come to me." It is really tragic that this female minister or any other Christian woman would choose to defend abortion. If she was truly penitent for her behavior this wouldn't even be a thread.
Christians have every right to judge her and anyone else who publicly defend sin and justify murder. It's not our business what others do with their pregnancies is and isn't true. Yes, it's legal and their business. But, I'm not sure we would say this if we saw our friend murdering their 2 year old. This woman in this article made her abortion our business when she chose to use her story as a political statement. She is telling her story to defend and protect legalized abortion. She became an abortion advocate when she published her story. We would be failing as Christians to support her in this public justification of sin
