I'm told I have a posh telephone accent but I never hear it lol.
Does anyone else speak differently on the phone.

(Although at the moment it's more of a bunged up, hoarse sniffle
accent!).

I like this thread : p

I love voices, I totally like listening to peoples voices. With the female gender, I generally like deeper voices, that arent like all soft and junk. I like it when females dont have gentle voices : p

I really like the voice actor for Helga Pataki-

(for a good example)

I also really liked the voice of Darlene from Roseanne. And the voice of Donna from that 70's show. They both had really nice voices that I like to listen to : p

As for males, I definitely prefer males with more gentle voices : p I think males who are more soft spoken have a nicer voice. I always thought that David from Roseanne had a way cool voice. I liked the singer Robert Smith from the cure. And Armistead Burwell Smith from Pinback/ Three Mile Pilot has a nice voice, too.

I think its just due to the typical timber of male/female voice. Most female's have a higher pitched voice, and I think it sounds better when they speak out louder and dont hide their voices. And with males, having a stronger voice, I think it sounds better when held back a bit, with the voice being softer.

As for my own voice, I dont like my voice : p Its either too deep, or too nasally. But I cant stand my own voice and dont like to have others to hear it, haha : p

Oooh Donna from that 70s show, must say a husky voice is nice.

If you have a deep voice it is manly and nothing wrong with it. For a long time I also didn't like my own voice because it sounds awkward when you hear yourself speak :) I get that but I am sure there are nothing wrong with your voice :)

My ex has a low and seductive voice and I bet he used it very well to seduce a lot of women. Men with low voices is a red flag. ;) JK

You sing like a fairy. lol! What I mean is you sing fairly well. And you look like Bong Revilla. I'm not sure if you know him but he is a famous former Phillipine senator/actor now in jail for plunder.

But yes, I just told someone else today that I could listen to a Scot read the phone book. I think Sean Connery's attractiveness can largely be attributed to his voice.

The only women's voices that annoy me are affected ones, I guess I mean the valley girl types? I have heard some women's voices that are beautiful in my opinion, but they are usually contralto voices- not high ones. High ones are not off putting to me if they are not affected.
agreed on Sean Connery. and yes, it's the affect of girlish, high pitched-ness (not a word lol) i find a bit irritating, but then, who knows why a woman might think it's a good idea, so i really ought to be more merciful. :(

but I'm kind of dumb when it comes to most things, lol.
this i highly doubt! :)

wow mom I rarely ever see you make a thread♥ for girls I like the tender kind of soft voice for a guy it doesn't really matter as long as it's not high pitched and hurting my ears. now accents are another story I cannot stand the British accent, a slight British accent or even a half of one is fine but the full on one is hard for me to hear I can't understand what they are saying most of the time and it sounds like they have a mouth full of food lol

I do however like a decent country accent not a full on southern one but sort of like a texas one maybe because I grew up around it
you know, my dear, everyone needs a hobby. lol

i suspect you don't have trouble with the UK accent called received pronunciation? (correct me, UK friends)
it's what you hear from a news anchor, er, i mean presenter! posh uni-grad type speaking. i like all the UK accents, northern being among my faves.

i wonder why most people seem to gravitate toward deeper voices?

I used to have a nice speaking voice... or so I was told. Now I sound like a tired old man.. :( And I don't like how some young people talk really fast these days. They talk as fast as I skim through everyone's posts! :p
Gabe, i tried to train my brain to keep up with the fast speaking of my horrible children. :p

i finally asked them to talk more slowly, which has enjoyed varied success.

I also like the voice of Sean Connery. No wonder because he is also also a Scot like Gerard Butler. Sean's voice fits well to a king's voice. First Knight is one of my favorite movies where he played King Arthur.
