I recently had a Christian tell me that Jesus didn't drink wine. That He drank grape juice. So I guess did Jesus turn water into wine or grape juice?

Do some simple research into what months grapes were picked for wine, and compare those months with other times the Bible tells of wine being consumed.

Since they had no refrigeration in those days, it stands to reason that their wine would ferment into alcohol rather quickly..... staying just grape juice for only a few weeks, or so. This whole nonsense is completely debunked by the many, many times the Bible refers to people getting drunk off the stuff.

Even the master of ceremonies of that wedding remarked that most people gave out the "good wine" first. Then when people were too drunk to care, the junk (cheap stuff) would be brought out. He complimented the Happy Couple on doing just the opposite when he tasted the good hooch Jesus made.

Jesus was not a member of the Southern Baptist Convention.

I make this joke because Mr. T up there covered my thoughts on the matter quite well.

what Willy said.....and....

Nonsense....Jesus made wine and the following references make no sense if it is grape juice...

They called Jesus a WINEBIBBER because he drank grape juice and He even referenced himself drinking wine<--The Son of man came DRINKING and EATING
Be not drunk with grape juice in excess.....<---what the.....
Paul told Timothy as a young pastor to drink a little wine
Proverbs says wine makes the heart merry

etc.....It is NOT those things that enter into a man that defiles a man....and drinking wine is perfectly fine if a) it does not cause a weaker brethren to stumble or b) In moderation and not being drunk.....

END of STORY.......to say Jesus made grape juice is not only ignorant, it is contrary to the truth.....!

Also, Paul told Timothy to take a little wine for his stomach problems and also for his frequent illnesses - so it was used medicinally as well.

Not saying Jesus didn't drink wine but if you want a warning about alcohol....

[h=1]Proverbs 23:29-35Amplified Bible (AMP)[/h]29
Who has woe? Who has sorrow?
Who has strife? Who has complaining?
Who has wounds without cause?
Whose eyes are red and dim?
30
Those who linger long over wine,
Those who go to taste mixed wine.
31
Do not look at wine when it is red,
When it sparkles in the glass,
When it goes down smoothly.
32
At the last it bites like a serpent
And stings like a viper.
33
Your [drunken] eyes will see strange things
And your mind will utter perverse things [untrue things, twisted things].
34
And you will be [as unsteady] as one who lies down in the middle of the sea,
And [as vulnerable to disaster] as one who lies down on the top of a ship’s mast, saying,
35
“They struck me, but I was not hurt!
They beat me, but I did not feel it!
When will I wake up?
I will seek more wine.”

Blech. I would only drink wine from Jesus if he physically handed it to me and said "drink."

Fun fact- if you were having the chicken and egg controversy swimming in your head, wonder no more- grape juice was invented by a Methodist Minister for a good, clean, 0% abv communion option.

Umm I think he used a press for the apples and stomped the grapes while wearing plastic bags over his feet if I remember right....I also know a old cowboy from Colorado who made excellent blackberry and or elderberry wine....very dark purple color, clear as a bell racked like 10 times......

Some of the best concoctions in existence are in Colorado.

The beer is fantastic. And peach moonshine from Western CO is to die for.

Have no more than a shot glass of it or you will surely get wasted.

Proverbs 20:1, Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise. Is this true?

By the way, the first mention of wine in the Bible was Noah getting drunk, naked and ashamed.
