What?..you already ate this yummy pizza...oh no...I'm starting to "stumble"...lol

I agree...let's learn how to walk by the spirit and then we will not fulfill what the flesh wants to do with "it's" lusts.
Yes, and I am focusing on that nasty plank in my eye... before pointing out that spec of dust in the beautiful eyes of my brothers and sisters.

Don't worry... There is always more pizza. I'll invite you next time!

Look, alcohol is not bad in moderation. It depends on the person and how he/she reacts to it. For me personally I'm a social drinker, I'm also an alone drinker. It does help me through some hard times. But I don't use it as a crutch, its just to chill out a little bit. If it makes you angry, violent and such...don't do it. Some can handle it well though. So no alcohol is not evil if you don't abuse it.

Thank you...I eat pizza's on Fridays. Friday is my "re-feed" day. The rest of the week I eat very clean but Fridays are my Yahoo Day! What day is it now? Is Friday getting close?

When I wake up I love to say to the Lord .."What are we going to eat today?...it's re-feed day". He just loves that!

If doing anything while a brother is with you causes him to stumble - then that is not walking in love. We need to be conscious of this fact when we are around others that have a different belief and are weak in faith.

Romans 14:13-23 (NASB)
[SUP]13 [/SUP] Therefore let us not judge one another anymore, but rather determine this—not to put an obstacle or a stumbling block in a brother's way.

[SUP]14 [/SUP] I know and am convinced in the Lord Jesus that nothing is unclean in itself; but to him who thinks anything to be unclean, to him it is unclean.

[SUP]15 [/SUP] For if because of food your brother is hurt, you are no longer walking according to love. Do not destroy with your food him for whom Christ died.

[SUP]16 [/SUP] Therefore do not let what is for you a good thing be spoken of as evil;

[SUP]17 [/SUP] for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

[SUP]18 [/SUP] For he who in this way serves Christ is acceptable to God and approved by men.

[SUP]19 [/SUP] So then we pursue the things which make for peace and the building up of one another.

[SUP]20 [/SUP] Do not tear down the work of God for the sake of food. All things indeed are clean, but they are evil for the man who eats and gives offense.

[SUP]21 [/SUP] It is good not to eat meat or to drink wine, or to do anything by which your brother stumbles.

[SUP]22 [/SUP] The faith which you have, have as your own conviction before God. Happy is he who does not condemn himself in what he approves.

[SUP]23 [/SUP] But he who doubts is condemned if he eats, because his eating is not from faith; and whatever is not from faith is sin.
Working with youth(or anyone who asks), I always want to be able to answer "NO" to the question, "Do you drink alcohol?" Young people here drinking in moderation as a license to drink period. I don't want to answer, "Yes, I drink, but only a glass of wine every once in a while." The answer is still, yes, I drink. I always want to answer no and be honest.

Why? Would you "feel" guilty if you had to say yes?

It's wrong if your motives for drinking are wrong.

The real question is, what motives are right motives to drink (Since alcohol is a drug) and effects your brain.
Boy, you're just a pile of judgemental, aren't you? Is coffee wrong too, since it too "is a drug and affects your brain?"

I both drink and smoke. Probably too much. Not that I'm getting drunk or anything, it's more like an effort to make old times nightmares go away.
I smoke too, but have to ask, how does smoking make old times nightmares go away? (Am I doing something wrong? lol)

I don't think it really matters if Jesus drank wine or not, He was no drunkard at all, today we use that verse as Christians to decieve ourselves, rather than pursuing alcohol we can pursue things of the Kingdom, and I've heard people claim well Jesus made wine so it's okay, and while they are in that drunken stupar they are full of curse words and everything about it is wrong, do we see Jesus ever acting that way off of wine....No I believe wine was a common drink back then to fill the thirst like your cola today.
I'm Irish. Grew up with alcohol as a "common drink" in my family. I live in an Italian American neighborhood. It's still common. If you can't, or even don't want to, drink, that's cool. But to think you can tell everyone else how to act is NOT!

Going through the comments, I think there's a majority agreement that there's nothing wrong with drinking it in moderation. Even folks that had bad experiences and don't drink themselves say it's okay for others to do so if they can handle it. What I'm seeing, though, is some people trying to justify drinking as much as they want. Don't tell me what to do, I'll do what I want type mindset. That mindset is similar to that of an alcoholic. There's a difference between wanting to have a beer to wind down after a long day. And then immediately going to said beer to wind down because you feel that's the only way you can take your mind off things. An alcoholic doesn't need to be stumbling over his words and his feet in the street. There are such things as functioning alcoholics. I don't understand why people are trying to justify more than moderation when the answer is right in front of us in the Bible.
I've read the same comments and only see one person who might be drinking too much. Might not be. (Can't really tell, because that person didn't give it away one way or the other.) What are you seeing other than a few kids telling us no one should drink?

It's interesting how some will say in their defense on questionable matters, "Jesus did it!".....

Then when someone talks about striving for perfection, the same mouth will say, "You can't do that, because only Jesus was perfect."

Therefore, I will say I won't drink, & I think others shouldn't either, because, after all, we're not Jesus are we?

I might consider it when I become more like Jesus, cause only then would I be able to handle it.

How is it christians say they can never get close to perfect, mature like Jesus, then say they can handle alcohol with their carnal ability? This world is spiraling out of control more each day, yet mankind still thinks they can "handle it".

Sounds like someone needs to reset their goals, jus' sayin'
I vaguely remember the olden days when everything you said was NOT a dig at someone else or a group of people.

It's been a long time, but I vaguely remember that. Any chance you want to become that person again?

ALL of this bloviating changes nothing when it comes to the acceptable bounds found in the scripture....one day you may figure that out......just saying!

Wow! Jesus drank wine so we can too. Even if it's lawful for believers to drink wine, it's certainly not expedient. The facts don't lie. Nothing good can come from alcohol consumption.
Paul must have been stupid to tell Timothy to have a little wine for the sake of his stomach.....again going to seed on your own personal conviction over the validity and boundaries set by the word of God has led many a man to hell an or has led to many making the word of God void by their worldly tradition<--the traditions of men

The question is: is it a greater sin to be drunk on alcohol or on ones own self righteous self important arrogant knuckelheadedness?

I believe that alcohol in moderation is fine. I don’t think that Jesus would have turned water into wine if it was sinful to do so. It is sinful to be a drunkard though. And there are some who are more apt to doing bad things while under the influence of alcohol. If alcohol causes you to sin, then you should cut it off, otherwise I don’t see much of a problem in moderation.

I don't think any Christian has the authority to point out sin in someone else unless they give you that authority. Otherwise it's none of your business and you should mind your own. You have enough of your own sin to call out.
