This over-pushing of having to be PC so that some Snowflake's sensibilities aren't bruised is half the reason our country is in a death spiral.

How gently did Jesus tell the Rich Young Ruler to go sell everything he owned? How good did Peter feel about being told three times that He was not really loving Christ? I imagine the statement "Get behind me, Satan!" really comforted him in his "Safe Space." I think you have turned the speaking of simple truths into the itching ear scratching the Bible spoke of.

Okay then, go around tramping and stomping and bending reeds. I can't make you less arrogant, nasty, and pompous. Only God can do it.

It is not PC to walk as our Lord wants us to walk.

I have to just ignore for a bit again, Willie. I am sure that there are many others who approve heartily of your behavior and they will speak with you. I find you to be obnoxious and distasteful and I need to not get caught up in it.

I can't even answer the rest of this here. I guess you really think you are showing men your Lord. Carry on.

Okay Willie, do you feel fully heard now.

Can we move forward? Or will you throw a tantrum? (should I make some smiley faces to make you feel better about the comment?)

Why is the real meaning of repentance so important?

I think what it boils down to is that the traditional evangelical view of preaching the gospel is to tell people "To stop sinning" and they use the word "repent" to say that is in the gospel message. That is not the gospel message.

The gospel message is not to stop sinning - it's to believe on what Christ has already done.

Check it out for yourselves. We have word-for-word a accounts of the real gospel being preached in Acts 10 by Peter and in Acts 13 by Paul.

Will people stop the sinning they did before if they believed the actual gospel message of Christ and what He has already done? You betcha!

Thank God for our freedom from sin because we are now in Christ.

The stop sinning part will come after they have repented and believed in the gospel and the exchanged life of Christ within them as they walk by the spirit will stop the lusts of the flesh from doing "it's" desires as their minds are renewed through transformation by the Holy Spirit.

We may have been told something different in our church teachings and our minds when we first see this might go "What?" - but our heart knows the truth of Christ's work.

We can trust the life of Christ in us to bring life to us and transform us outwardly to reflect the new creation that we are in Christ now. By His grace through faith we will walk free of all things that held us captive before in our lives.

On second thought, DON'T listen to that video. If you think you have problems with me, you will absolutely "wilt" at the straight talk THAT man gives you.

It's not the same as saying "stop sinning"!

It's an assumption that you and Willie make when you hear the term.

I always associated sin as doing or thinking anything that is AGAINST GOD's will. So to turn from your sins, has always had a MENTAL and emotional response of turning from what I want towards what God wants.

Just because you both assume that term means sinless perfection, does NOT mean everyone else thinks the SAME false belief.

Perhaps a person has to actually listen, before they can hear?

No, it has nothing whatsoever to do with sinless perfection - that is a completely different topic and I agree with you - it doesn't exist in the flesh.

Telling people to "Repent of their sins" or "stop sinning" when they hear the gospel message is not telling the true gospel. Go read Acts 10 and Acts 13 and you will see what I mean.

This is why I believe the term "repentance" needs to be viewed accurately the way that it is used in the gospel message so that the real gospel message of Christ is in us and His life will transform us and that will be seen by men in the way we live.

Do they stop sinning like they used to after they come to believe in Christ. You betcha! Jesus came to save us from sin. The stop sinning part comes after we come to Christ and His life transforms us by His grace as we walk by the spirit.

The sin that the Holy Spirit convicts/convinces/exposes to the unbeliever is that they do not believe in Christ.

John 16:8-9 (NASB)
[SUP]8 [/SUP] "And He, when He comes, will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment;

[SUP]9 [/SUP] concerning sin, because they do not believe in Me;

Let's go on to the next one on the list. No one is here to try to make another one see what the other sees. We just give out our view points and the scriptures and leave it in the hands of the Lord. We are all learning.

I say "Let's resurrect the dead"! ( did we do that one?...)

But if a wicked person turns away from all his sins that he has committed
and keeps all my statutes and does what is just and right,
he shall surely live;
he shall not die.

22 None of the transgressions that he has committed shall be
remembered against him; for the righteousness that he has done
he shall live.

23 Have I any pleasure in the death of the wicked, declares the Lord God,
and not rather that he should turn from his way and live?

24 But when a righteous person turns away from his righteousness and
does injustice and does the same abominations that the wicked person does,
shall he live?
None of the righteous deeds that he has done shall be remembered;
for the treachery of which he is guilty and the sin he has committed,
for them he shall die.

Ezek 18:21-25

God does not change His attitude to sin or His approach to people.
Jesus brings forgiveness but with a condition of following under
the law of Christ as a slave to righteousness, empowered by love
set free in the heart through the cross and the Holy Spirit.

Acts 26:8
"Why is it considered incredible among you people if God does raise the dead?

Matthew 22:29-32
But Jesus answered and said to them, "You are mistaken, not understanding the Scriptures nor the power of God. "For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven. "But regarding the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what was spoken to you by God: read more.
'I AM THE GOD OF ABRAHAM, AND THE GOD OF ISAAC, AND THE GOD OF JACOB'? He is not the God of the dead but of the living."

Mark 12:24-27
Jesus said to them, "Is this not the reason you are mistaken, that you do not understand the Scriptures or the power of God? "For when they rise from the dead, they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven. "But regarding the fact that the dead rise again, have you not read in the book of Moses, in the passage about the burning bush, how God spoke to him, saying, 'I AM THE GOD OF ABRAHAM, AND THE GOD OF ISAAC, and the God of Jacob'? read more.
"He is not the God of the dead, but of the living; you are greatly mistaken."

Luke 20:34-38
Jesus said to them, "The sons of this age marry and are given in marriage, but those who are considered worthy to attain to that age and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry nor are given in marriage; for they cannot even die anymore, because they are like angels, and are sons of God, being sons of the resurrection. read more.
"But that the dead are raised, even Moses showed, in the passage about the burning bush, where he calls the Lord THE GOD OF ABRAHAM, AND THE GOD OF ISAAC, AND THE GOD OF JACOB. "Now He is not the God of the dead but of the living; for all live to Him."

1 Corinthians 15:35-44
But someone will say, "How are the dead raised? And with what kind of body do they come?" You fool! That which you sow does not come to life unless it dies; and that which you sow, you do not sow the body which is to be, but a bare grain, perhaps of wheat or of something else. read more.
But God gives it a body just as He wished, and to each of the seeds a body of its own. All flesh is not the same flesh, but there is one flesh of men, and another flesh of beasts, and another flesh of birds, and another of fish. There are also heavenly bodies and earthly bodies, but the glory of the heavenly is one, and the glory of the earthly is another. There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for star differs from star in glory. So also is the resurrection of the dead It is sown a perishable body, it is raised an imperishable body; it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body.

1 Corinthians 15:52
in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.

Matthew 27:52
The tombs were opened, and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised;
What are your thoughts on these scriptures?

Do you know of others we should all look at and discuss?

if you use law, either way, your back under, if you break one sin , you break them all. (certian death)thats why its important to have the correct frame of mind. so you have a choice to except the whole bible and ware it leads you. or continue in disbelief to what jesus has already done for you. that has nothing to do with religion, you have to make that choice for your self. the snake in the garden never ate the apple, but still got punished. for speaking words that led adam and eve in to what the jewish law calls sin. etc
