the scripture is clear that believing in Christ seals us with the Holy Spirit and He is in us forever
Who is "us"? You're begging that question continually. There are millions of sloppy, lazy, immoral pseudo-believers who need to hear a message of "hell, fire and brimstone"...NOT your message which is that everybody is saved, saved, saved.
If you believe you need to save yourself - then better get busy!
Quite the silly taunt. I do not believe in "saving myself". That is just a straw man that you erect.
The truth is when we preach and teach the grace of God in Christ - it supplies the nutrients to grow in the Lord and His fruit will manifest in and through us for a life-time of manifesting His life for others to see the love and grace that our loving Father has for them. They don't need a religion - they need Christ Himself.
Well...you
sound like you're trying to rebut something. Just can't tell what it is exactly . Again, who is "us"? You're begging that question.
What do you say to a pseudo-believer who hangs out at your church and says all the right churchy-church lingo (
"praise the Lord for the blood of the Lamb" etc.) but practices sin all during the week (shacking up, fornication, etc.)???
You would say -
"praise the Lord, he has called upon Christ - he is signed , sealed and delivered - praise be!".
In dramatic contrast, here is what the Bible says -
"do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God." 1 Corinthians 6:9-10
It is possible for people who act Christian-ish to "be deceived" and split the gates of Hell wide open. And people like you stand in the way of people like me, falsely accusing us of "salvation by works...because we are trying to warn these pseudo-Christians to...
snap out of their self-deception.
