For the OP, you need to understand what Esau did and why is he used as an example.
Esau sold his inheritance for a bowl of soup because he was momentarily so hungry that he had to get a bowl of soup, right now, even if that meant losing his inheritance. It's about the principle. Getting the fleeting satisfaction was more important than long-term future. If you are wise and put the concern about your eternal future first, you are not Esau.
"And the Lord said unto her, Two nations are in thy womb, and two manner of people shall be separated from thy bowels; and the one people shall be stronger than the other people; and the elder shall serve the younger." The younger represents Jesus side (like Jacob's got the birthright, Jesus is also called the ultimate firstborn) and the nation of God, who are given to reign. Esau represents God's enemies. The saints will rule over them. Esau is used synonyously in the Bible with the name Edom - a nation who pursues others with swords, holds on to anger, will not forgive, "the strong city" which God decided to completely destroy.
The Bible teaches us to not proclaim who goes to heaven or hell - we don't know this, and it's not our job to say anyway (Romans 10:6-7), so ignore the bickering on the forum, God alone has the ultimate say. Look at apostle Paul's example, he was looking to murder God's people. Everybody would say he would end up in hell, and they would be wrong. Jesus died for us while we were still sinners. God destroys the old person and creates a new one and this is why we identify with Jesus' death and resurrection. So God is able to have people cross from the enemy's side to His and does this all the time. God loves us but hates our old evil nature - such cannot enter eternal life.
Jacob, after he was blessed, came to Esau and gave him many gifts and made friends with him in Jesus like manner, even though his brother tried to kill him earlier. The Bible says Esau gave up on revenge and was glad to be reunited with him, so I believe he had a change of heart. Doesn't it say "Esau I hated" - it is in the past... yet warning as an example to us...
I did not post for a long time, I feel really stressed out writing anything here, but felt the urge to write this for you and I hope it encourages you and comforts you...
