Being born again is not based upon the confession of sin, being born again and gaining eternal life which is a gift is accepting the finished work that Jesus completed on the cross and by His resurrection victory.

We are born again when we accept Christ's gift of dying for us and stop trying to save ourselves or gain eternal life on our own merit. There is knowledge of sin in coming to belief in Jesus, since the person knows that they can never be sinless enough according to God's standard.

You can confess your sin if you want but unconfessed sin does not change your status in Christ if you have received His free gift of salvation. God judged and forgave all our sin at the cross.

We have only limited awareness of our own sin therefore it is impossible to remember or even know every sin. It makes our salvation an ongoing work of contrition and a penitent heart if you believe God does not forgive future sins.

The confession of every sin daily really stems from Catholic dogma and is not what scripture teaches.
Yes, I go one step further. The cross is forgiveness of sin that allows for salvation. At the cross He forgave all of the sin for all of the world. Now everyone is forgiven, but we certainly know that everyone is NOT saved. So how does salvation occur? 1. We believe that Jesus died for our sin on the cross(belief, which recognizes that we are filthy sinners, and that He did what He said He would do,confession and repentance) Then 2. We accept the Holy Spirit and are born again into a new creation by Him.for eternity (which starts now).

From that point on we live in Him and Him in us as a new creation, righteous in His eyes because He doesn't hold our sin against us.
Imagine if all sin wasn't forgiven. We would accept the Holy Spirit, two maybe three hours, days or weeks, who knows, we would sin and the God would HAVE to leave us again. But His word says He never leaves or forsake us. The only way He will never leave or forsake us is because of the complete forgiveness of sin.

Proverbs 28v13
He who covers his sins will not prosper,
But whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy.

1) Confession
2) Forsaking
3) Granting of Mercy

This is a version of universalism, where sin is not an issue even though it goes on just like
it has from the beginning of history.

This leads to so much heresy and insane ideas that sin in the believers life or anyone elses
does not matter. This would be true if their sin was truly forgiven but this is not the case.

This salvation story comes from a world of neutral people who go from a state of being doomed
to hell to destined for heaven like some tour package where you buy a destination.

People who want an easy faith, with just conviction and nothing else, this will appeal to them.
But if our goal is to become like Jesus, the gulf between His behaviour and our shows us how much
we need to change and grow into.

Jesus talks about our hearts and emotions, who we are, where we came from and where we are going.
Now even a child knows the gulf is so vast just a few words are not going to bridge this gap, and waving
a magic wand over sin of the world changes nothing.

Your believe Jesus sacrifice was a magic wand? and now I'm a universalist? hahahahaha

1 John 2: 2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world

He makes a distinction, not only for ours (the saved) but also the the sins of the whole world (unsaved).

Titus 3:5-7

5Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; 6Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; 7That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life

You see PJ salvation is 2 parts. You can't have one with out the other. I beleive that you have to be saved to receive the benefit of the sacrifice that He gave for all.

Well said...this is offense to the self-righteousness/works-righteousness belief system that is in the world.

The truth is all man-kind has been identified in Christ's finished work on the cross. He is called the last Adam.

The gospel message is that God has reconciled the world to Himself - not counting their sins against them because Jesus took that judgment for all of us. Now we must believe and receive what the Lord has done to be a partaker of His work.

2 Corinthians 5:18-21 (NASB)
[SUP]18 [/SUP] Now all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation,

[SUP]19 [/SUP] namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and He has committed to us the word of reconciliation.

[SUP]20 [/SUP] Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.

[SUP]21 [/SUP] He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

Notice what our ministry is supposed to truly be and then compare this ministry with the works-based preaching that we see now in the church.

The Lord being crucified with 2 thieves is a type of all man-kind being represented "with" Christ.

1 Timothy 4:10 (NASB)
[SUP]10 [/SUP] For it is for this we labor and strive, because we have fixed our hope on the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of believers.

Why "especially of believers?" - because they believed the gospel - the nearly too good to be true news of what the Lord has already done in His finished work on the cross and resurrection. News is something that has already happened!

Let's start proclaiming the ministry of reconciliation to people so that the true grace of God that is in the gospel message of Christ Himself will bring about true transformation and set people free to live in Him.

To the religious natural humanistic mind - this says "universalism" but the truth is there is a vast difference between universal atonement where all man-kind is included in Christ's work on the cross and universalism which says that all dogs go to heaven even if they don't believe in Christ. That is not true.

AMEN....they absolutely cannot distinguish between SONSHIP and FELLOWSHIP....................ONE BY BIRTH...ONE BY WALK..........there is a reason why JESUS said that many (plenteous in number) would come before him boasting of their right to enter based upon their works and assumption they knew JESUS.....because almost all so called Christian DENOMINATIONS blend faith with works as their means of salvation....either to get or keep...........

PAUL was clear....PAUL was INSPIRED..PAUL preached the words of JESUS when he said FAITH PLUS WORKS = NO POWER to save, FALSE GOSPEL of a DIFFERENT KIND and one who BUYS INTO IT is FOOLISH and BEWITCHED

THE ROOT was corrupt from the beginning because they trusted a FALSE GOSPEL....FAITH/WORKS and in ESSENCE interject themselves into the COMPLETED work of CHRIST which TAINTS the sacrifice for sins....

The GOSPEL--> IT pleased GOD by the foolishness of preaching to save them that BELIEVE!

THIER FALSE GOSPEL-->IT pleased GOD by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe and work for it to get, keep and maintain it!

A different door than what the bible gives as the one means of salvation!

A story from the second world war that my told me comes to mind.
Germany was a very open society with many caring loving people.
Hitler was extreme but people did not believe what he said would actually
happen.

A jewish couple visited my mothers family. They were jewish and knew the
potential danger of the evil of the nazis but never thought it would happen to them.
In 1939 they returned to Germany and never survived the concentration camps.

Nice feelings about nebulous morality sounds fine is a wealthy reasonably moral society
where the rule of law still is present, with a good police force and courts, education,
social support etc. It is always amazing when in a society this is taken away, how far
people then fall, and what appeared impossible becomes very real.

My wife spent 2 years doing research for holocaust museums. I literally could not believe
how far this supposed christian society fell and abused people in the most horrific ways.

So I know the junk denying conscience and love does to a society and ignoring real morality.
It is a rot it will not recover from.

All sin in the world forgiven

This is so insane, it proposes sin is no longer an issue in society.
For the people of God this is poison and a lie that could not be bigger and
more destructive.

It is like taking away saltiness from salt, or the light from a blazing fire, or
love out of the cross.

Sin isn't the issue, the issue is people don't have the Lord Jesus in their lives. Stop preaching sin and start preaching Jesus, and sin will reduce.

Its about focus. What are you focused on? The sin of the world or the solution for the world?

You have to know the bad news to accept the good news (Ro 3:23, 5:8, 6:23, 10:9, 10:13).

So many of these arguments consist of two sides saying almost the same thing. Jesus did in fact die for the sins of the world, of course only those who accept Jesus as Savior actually have their sins forgiven. This is what makes the world such a sad place, all these folks who could have their sins forgiven(because Jesus died to take away their sin), refuse to come to Christ and be forgiven.

Amen...we could spend a lifetime looking for sin in the flesh because it will always be there. The law of sin is still in the flesh until we get new bodies and it has a "voice" - listening to it gives it power in our lives.

We Christians because of false teaching have been taught to focus on sin but the complete opposite is the gospel.

Focus on Christ and what He has already done and that we are one with Him in the new creation and put on this new man that is in Christ and we will be walking by the spirit which will put to death the "deeds of the body" where the law or sin is still residing in us. Rom. 7:17-22

We need to be righteousness conscious - not sin conscious. Religion and humanistic belief systems always get the gospel backwards.

Poison dart in the arm = sin in a human.

Jesus dying on the cross = dart removed from arm

Following Holy Spirit = taking medicine to combat the poison.

The enemy still shoots darts (temptation to sin), do you have your armor on (faith in Christ and following the Holy Spirit)?

If you dont have your helmet of salvation, Satan messes with your head and tells you you need to work harder or lose your salvation.

If you dont have the breast plate of righteousness (Christ), Satan tells your heart how unworthy you are and how God could never love such a sinner.....however God says He loves us so much He died for us.
