Amen and one cannot be justified without being saved and the exact opposite is equally true......saved, justified, sanctified and sealed ALL correlate to the one and same event by faith........

There's more...scripture is beautiful in it's revealing of the wonderful work of Christ.

Here are the scriptures that say believers in Christ are sanctified now - which means that they "are set apart". We are set apart because we are in Christ now.

Acts 20:32 (NASB)
[SUP]32 [/SUP] "And now I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and to give you the inheritance among all those who are sanctified.

who are sanctified
= Perfect passive

( The meaning of the perfect passive remains the same even if conflicts with our prior religious beliefs )

Perfect tense =
The perfect tense in Greek is used to describe a completed past action which produced results which are still in effect all the way up to the present. This is continuously happening in the present and it stands in a completed state.

Passive = means something is being done to you - you are not doing it.

Acts 26:18 (KJV)
[SUP]18 [/SUP] To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which
are sanctified by faith that is in me.

are sanctified = perfect passive ( which means it was an event that happened in the past and it's effects are still in the present tense )

1 Corinthians 1:2 (NASB)
[SUP]2 [/SUP] To the church of God which is at Corinth, to those who
have been sanctified in Christ Jesus, saints by calling, with all who in every place call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, their Lord and ours:

have been sanctified = perfect passive

1 Corinthians 6:11 (NASB)
[SUP]11 [/SUP] Such were some of you; but you were washed, but
you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God.

you were sanctified = aorist indicative passive ( this is a one time event in the past and it was acted upon us - passive )

If we were justified then we were sanctified - if we were washed then we were sanctified too - no matter what our prior religious teachings have told us.

Hebrews 2:11 (NASB)
[SUP]11 [/SUP] For both He who sanctifies and those who
are sanctified are all from one Father; for which reason He is not ashamed to call them brethren,

are sanctified = present passive ( Christ makes us sanctified by His life that is in us )

Hebrews 10:10 (NASB)
[SUP]10 [/SUP] By this will we
have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

have been sanctified
= perfect passive ( again)

Jude 1:1 (KJV)
[SUP]1 [/SUP] Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that
are sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ, and called:

are sanctified
= perfect passive ( again this is a one time happening in the past that it's effects are still in the present tense and it is in a completed state - and it is passive - something done to us - apart from ourselves.

I don't know how much more plainer the scriptures can be. We should embrace truth even if they "conflict" with our religious upbringings with their teachings.

It is obvious from scripture that we are to walk out the holiness that is already in us.

There is a difference between us as a person being "set apart" (
sanctified in our spirit - which is the new man in Christ ) and "setting apart " ( sanctifying ) our behavior.

1 Peter 1:15-16 (NASB)
[SUP]15 [/SUP] but like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves also in all your behavior;

[SUP]16 [/SUP] because it is written, "YOU SHALL BE HOLY, FOR I AM HOLY."

The new man in Christ is like the "
invisible man" - when he put clothes on, people could see him. In the same way we are to "put on Christ " - which is who we are joined as one with in the new creation in Christ. Then people can see the new man that is in Christ being manifested and God gets glorified.

As our minds get renewed to the truths of the Lord Jesus Christ whom we are joined as one with - we are transformed by the Holy Spirit as we behold the glory of Christ to reflect outwardly in our behavior who we already are in our inner man that is in Christ.

This is done by the Holy Spirit. It is a fruit of the Spirit - self-control is a fruit of the Spirit which is in us.

Am reading Witness Lee...and he speaks of the pneumatic Christ. Talks about the pneumatic tools.

He came into us with breath...and His breath begins to flood our very being. I love this picture. If we see ...we will be. My mantra.

Scripture... can it be?

Romans 5:1-2
1. "Therefore havig been justified by faith, we have peace withGod through our Lord Jesus Christ.
2. Through whom also we have obtained our introduction by faith into this grace in which we stand: and we exult in hope of the glory of God."

AMEN!

This is speaking to JUSTIFICATION, and NOT sanctification.

Through Justification, a free gift of God lavihed upon us, we have obtained a right standing wih him. We are made righteous through Jesus in the eyes of God. Our faith has saved us and our faith will continue to save us for as long as we believe.
We can praise God for this.
Justification is salvation.

Sanctification is christian growth.

If you learn the difference between the two, you may just finally understand how we believe. and start to see the truth of Gods promises.

Bible verse, Ok here you go.

Hebrews 10:14
For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified.

so do you have faith fran?

Did God perfect forever his children? Whom he is in the process of sanctifying?

or is our perfection (justification) dependent on how much we sanctify ourself? even though the author of Hebrewes states, it is God who also sanctifys us..

The first thing you need to do to have any discussion is to figure out what the person you are discussing with believes.

If you tell me you believe something, and I misunderstand you, I need to be humble enough to receive correction. Considering no one has a right to tell someone what they believe, for how can they know (unless they are God)

If your view of what you THINK the person you are trying to discuss something is wrong. All you will do is have the person you are trying to discuss with continually try to correct you on his belief system, and any form of communication or actual discussion you may attempt to have will be non existent.

ie, if person A is continually trying to tell everyone person B believes this, and person B does not.. Perso be will continually have to tell person A he or she is wrong.

The problem is, If person A is to proud to be told he or she is wrong. we get what we have in CC with so many people and yourself and a few like you.

Again, I repeat. You do not like to be told your wrong.
EG

You're not SUPPOSED to tell a person they are wrong.

You're supposed to SHOW with scripture WHY you think they are wrong.

Just saying someone is wrong, DOES NOT make it so.

use scripture.

There's too much talk on this thread and not enough to chew on.

I know I don't have to be here if I don't like it, I'm here for those reading along who may not even be posting
but are trying to learn the truth ---- which is why I Always use scripture.

You know what qualifies one as a hypocrite? I see no call for scripture from your working for pal here like you do for EG, Blue and I.........how about be consistent...........!!!!!!!!!!

AMEN!

Great post.

Two believers can have a different opinion on what the bible says.
There is no reason to put each other down and call each other names.
As soon as some respect is shown, I will stop using terms such as cheap grace
or easy believism.

I have NEVER done this before, but it does show the "other side" how awful it is, which is the only
reason I use these terms.

Everyone here loves Jesus.
Everyone here is saved because IT IS NOT DOCTRINE that saves. (this was never answered either BTW. None of my statemens and questions get answered).

So, let's use scripture, let's reply what our beliefs are, let's keep to the point and we'll have a much more interesting converstaion than just make "remarks" as is done here.

And let's speak TO each other instead of ABOUT each other.
This is done here too.

I was not talking about peter being wrong about scripture and what he thinks it says,

Please. reread what I posted, and rethink what you said, Because you just totally screwed this one up.

PS. In case you refuse to read like always, Yes Fran, I do have the right to tell a person when they tell me WHAT I BELIEVE they are wrong. Just like you do!

of course, just saying it is not enough, you have to show proof..

Which scripture did you quote in this post....ALWAYS = ALWAYS.......just a question....IF you say ALWAYS and you fail to keep that saying what does that equate to? and HOW does that play into a working for salvation?

Dude....you completely missed his point because you cannot grasp the truth of what he said.....and the POINT IS...NO ONE can MEET the STANDARDS that MUST BE MET to EARN or DESERVE the right to ENTER the KINGDOM of HEAVEN......and that is exactly what the LAW proves....WE ARE all GUILTY and NONE can meet the standard SET BY GOD......and exactly why we NEED to be redeemed, justified, saved and sealed by the blood of JESUS in faith....

and you wonder why I call you a cake taker.........you cannot get past your own religious CREED to see the truth of what ANYONE posts........and the sad part....that is the same PROBLEM the PHARISEES had...................WOW!
Could you please show, verse by verse like I do, HOW this is shown in scripture?

HOW Jesus said all that He said just to tell us we CANNOT keep the Law.

I'd really appreciate it.

Remember Roman Catholic "salvation" includes both justification and sanctification.

While protestants mostly believe that Jesus will sanctify all he justifies, therefore salvation is primarily justification and glorification is sanctification (of mind and heart) in this life and our bodies upon Jesus return.

It was hard to come out of this line of thinking.

I used to think the law said do not commit adultery, so as long as I did not do it, I was doing good works. so as long as I looked at the law, and I was not constantly breaking it, I must be doing pretty good and doing alot of Good works.

But that is not what the law was intended to do. nor is it what a true work is. And even an unbeliever can look to the law and appear to be good.. because they do not commit the pet sins.

True works are serving others. Loving as God loved us, Taking the love God gave to us, and sharing it with the world.
The thing I have found with quite a few people is that they are like you were and I was.
Good works were not falling foul of the law.
People tend to look at the passages in Corinthians, Galatians and Ephesians.
Keep those and I'm alright Jack.

But I realised that actually you can keep the letter of the law but not the spirit of the law.

I actually realised that not by divine inspiration but when studying my accountancy exams.

Even though certain transactions follow the letter of the law they are presented in way that goes against the spirit of the law and its intention.

So it made me think. Now don't get me wrong I'm not against such passages in the bible concerning the books quoted above.

As I thought about it more I remembered this.

Matthew 5:27-28
Adultery in the Heart
“You have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

Then this

Matthew 22:37-40

Jesus said to him, “ ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”

2 commandments that sum up the 10 commandments given to Moses.

In fact Jesus took it even further, love your enemies

Matthew 5:43-44
Love Your Enemies
“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you,

then finally on judgement day Jesus says

Matthew 25:34-46
Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’

“Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’

“Then He will also say to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels: for I was hungry and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink; I was a stranger and you did not take Me in, naked and you did not clothe Me, sick and in prison and you did not visit Me.’

“Then they also will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You?’ Then He will answer them, saying, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’ And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

Whilst we struggle with works of the flesh we ask for help.

But I would actually say that sin management by keeping the letter of the law can detract from the spirit of the law.

If we allow the Holy Spirit to work in us to fulfill the spirit of the law then to me

Well done good and faithful servant.

Acts 15
Certain people came down from Judea to Antioch and were teaching the believers: “Unless you are circumcised, according to the custom taught by Moses, you cannot be saved.” 2 This brought Paul and Barnabas into sharp dispute and debate with them. So Paul and Barnabas were appointed, along with some other believers, to go up to Jerusalem to see the apostles and elders about this question. 3 The church sent them on their way, and as they traveled through Phoenicia and Samaria, they told how the Gentiles had been converted. This news made all the believers very glad. 4 When they came to Jerusalem, they were welcomed by the church and the apostles and elders, to whom they reported everything God had done through them.

5 Then some of the believers who belonged to the party of the Pharisees stood up and said, “The Gentiles must be circumcised and required to keep the law of Moses.”

6 The apostles and elders met to consider this question. 7 After much discussion, Peter got up and addressed them: “Brothers, you know that some time ago God made a choice among you that the Gentiles might hear from my lips the message of the gospel and believe. 8 God, who knows the heart, showed that he accepted them by giving the Holy Spirit to them, just as he did to us. 9 He did not discriminate between us and them, for he purified their hearts by faith. 10 Now then, why do you try to test God by putting on the necks of Gentiles a yoke that neither we nor our ancestors have been able to bear? 11 No! We believe it is through the grace of our Lord Jesus that we are saved, just as they are.”

I like to think three terms

1. Justification is made perfect IN CHRIST
2. Sanctification is christian growth IN CHRIST (where christ is maing us to be christlike, or moves us towards being completely like him
3. Glorification is when sanctification equals justification.

I agree,, I think that was jesus calling them out, You think you follow the law. But let me show you how well you really do.

Sadly I think he needs to do that to quite a few people on this earth who still do not get it.

He promised.....

a. To NEVER leave us or forsake us
b. Finish what he started and bring it to fruition<--He is the BEGINNER and FINISHER of our faith
c. SAVE us to the UTTERMOST
d. PLACE our sins as far as the EAST is from the WEST and remember them NO MORE
e. SAVE us eternally and give unto us ETERNAL life
f. Place us in the FATHER's hand and in HIS hand and SEAL us with his SPIRIT
g. THAT NOTHING can separate us fro HIS LOVE
h. LOSE nothing that has been given by the FATHER but raise it up on the last day
I. ETC

ALL who have trusted the saving faith of Christ....

a. ARE covered by his blood eternally
b. Have JESUS mediating before the HEAVENLY FATHER NON-STOP
c. HAVE the out bounding GRACE of GOD bounding ahead of our SIN
d. HAVE the righteousness of Christ applied dia faith
e. HAVE been SAVED, JUSTIFIED, SANCTIFIED (positionally) and SEALED (all past tense with present continuing results by verb tense)

No matter how one slices, dices, rejects, denies, embellishes and or flat lies....IF you can LOSE salvation then YOU must do something to keep it, get it or maintain it....<----ALL equal a works based false gospel which is condemned by PAUL in GALATIANS and NOT found anywhere in the bible....

Salvation if a FREE GIFT based upon faith. It cannot be eared, kept and or maintained by works as it is already GIVEN in faith.
ANY work or fruit is the RESULT of the faith and salvation already POSSESSED by the one who has been saved by faith dia grace.
I wonder how many people actually believe God's promises?
