I am personally not afraid of demons or anything like that because I know that I can not be demon posessed. I am fearful for the unsaved. There is an app that I believe is demonic, called Blue Whale that tries to get kids to kill themselves. This is supernatural and evil, I believe. I know I could not be influenced by this, but kids could be.

Dear friend I was not talking specifically of the occult, though that is a part of the package. I've noticed a large percentage of Christians run away from ANYTHING supernatural. That includes the good stuff too, unfortunately. We do want to stay out of the occult. We are to shut it down when the occult side comes up. But we run. The part I was thinking of was not the bad side though. Its so easy to look around us and we see lovely green trees, blue sky, our pretty car in the driveway.....All those lovely people walking around, shopping, working, whatever, and we think that is the real deal...Only the people are the real deal....All the other things we see are the illusion of reality. While all the things we do not see, cannot see with our eyes are the real thing. And that scares the largest percentage of Christians....I'm wondering why. I'm not accusing, judging or pointing the finger....I'm wondering why.

I know that there are several interesting people in this forum, like you and Zen, and a few others we could both name, who don't seem to join the group to contribute but to cause chaos, slam others, in general, be what people on the web call haters...Don't you think that kind of behavior is beneath you Bluto? The sooner you stop that, the sooner you and I can have intelligent conversations....I think I would like that. Wouldn't you?

Some things are for the exclusive use of God. I believe that in the same spirit that we don't our young children playing with matches or knives; so The Lord keeps us from things that will ultimately harm us, as they are beyond our ability or comprehension. You would not likely let your child have a gun or a bomb even though you might explain to him that he must always act responsible with it.

Its even more dangerous to turn your back on it...All of the armor you have protects your front and there is no armor covering your back...So run. And catch an arrow in your butt. Or learn about what you face, learn the enemy's tactics and actively resist (come against) the enemy and make HIM run away. You say you are a warrior for Christ? Act like it. Unless you figure to talk him to death?

I had to try it without my glasses. Nope. Could see it was doctored without them too. (And I can't read "Gateway" on my computer tower from two feet away. With glasses on, it looks like an 18 size font.)

Sooo, lets not blame bad eyes on that amount of malarkey/free advertising. :)

However there really must be discernment especially when your calling something supernatural, anyone call something bad happening to them as a spiritual attack but for the most part it's cause and effect it's mainly the results of our own actions or the actions of others. Believe me we don't need the devils help for things to happen to us we are plenty good at causing them to happen to ourselves.

I honestly cannot stress this enough discernment is greatly needed, it's like with bible prophecy not just anyone can handle meat as thick as bible prophecy and in the same way not everyone can handle discerning the supernatural. there is a balance that is needed in discerning the supernatural, one must look at things logically as well as spiritually because if you only look at things with one or the other alone then you have either a spiritual nutcase who thinks everything is supernatural and gives into their own imaginations or you have a person who completely discards anything supernatural at all.

I experience the supernatural all the time but i also have learned that we have to look at things logically as well i mean God is the creator of logic is he not? For instance I have dreams from God sometimes and people who have dreams from god could easily begin to think any dream they have is from him I have seen many make this mistake but I also know how the human brain works especially with dreams. Certain foods can make one have bizarre dreams and certain medicine can give one some very trippy dreams as well that doesn't mean it's from God.

Also what we think about and watch can greatly alter our dreams as well, if you watch a horror movie about demons and you go to sleep you are likely to have a dream about such, if you are constantly thinking of the supernatural it's likely that your mind will dream about the supernatural.

Interesting question! It's kind of like you can't see the mountain you are standing on. Although people fear the supernatural, that fear could be closer to their belief in the supernatural rather than unbelief. Hope that makes sense!
For example, I'm not fearful of dinosaurs, because they don't exist. But I fear the supernatural, just because of the uncertainty it brings. See, people like being "aware" all the time. We like being "at the top of our game". So I think one reason why people can be afraid if just because it is something they cannot predict or understand. It may not necessarily be unbelief that the enemy can do something. But it could be fearful denial of a reality they believe in.

Word?

How can folks who have been saved and then follow THE Supernatural be scared of THE Supernatural? That's like saying Philadelphia Eagle players are afraid of green! It makes absolutely no sense!!!

(And, for the younger folks, who probably know the word "Word" is no longer a thing, I really want to know -- did I use it in context properly? I'm not into modern words, but I was just beginning to understand that word... I think. lol)
