This is exactly one of the main problems as to why people misinterpret the book of Revelation. I call this symbolitis!
With all due respect whose main problem?
Scripture calls it interpreting parables necessary to reveal the unseen spiritual meaning as a faith principle. The author saw a picture a vision used in parable.
The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and
signified it by his angel unto his servant John:Who bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that
he saw.Rev 1:1 -2

There is no reason to approach the book of Revelation as being symbolic. It should be read in the literal sense until symbolism is obvious. If the literal sense makes perfect sense, then don't seek any other sense.
There is no such prescription it would seem you are turning things upside down we walk by faith according to it prescription. The idea that if the literal sense makes sense, then don't seek any other sense would simply make the parable without effect And we would have no way to understand the historical true parables .
2Co 4:18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
The prescription is without parables that are used to ‘signify’ as a sign, (signs or shadows point to the unseen faith principle) Christ spoke not, therefore hiding, by faith the spiritual meaning from those who do not walk by faith. Not mixing faith the unseen which comes from hearing God found in what they read or hear.
Matthew 13:34 All these things spake Jesus unto the
multitude in parables; and
without a parable spake
he not unto them:
Mark 4:11 And he said unto them, Unto you it is given
to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables:
Mark on head = thinking as the beast wants.
Mark on the head ..Parable to signify the beast wants something?
They shewed
his signs among them, and wonders in the land of Ham. He sent darkness, and made it dark; and
they rebelled not against his word Psa 105:27
They were given the spiritual meaning and therfore did not rebell like thoses who refused to look for it
It supports your interpretation as it seems you are not interested in looking at the spiritual meaning There is no prescription that would represent your theory that we walk by sight. That can be easily seen in the parable found in Revelation 20.

similitude of the LORD shall he behold: wherefore then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?

I will open my mouth in a parable: I will utter

This technology of people from Sweden and her sister countries and now beginning here in the US, is the evolution of what will become the literal mark in the right hand or forehead as a means of electronically crediting and debiting (buying and selling) of an individuals bank account
.
Again the buying and selling is not in respect to the temporal, that seen. But is in respect to the hidden truth of the eternal gospel, not the goods of this world as if we did walk by sight. And men put sanctions on them trying to starve Christians to death or refuse them doctors care .
