I say this prayer every morning before I start my work day. I also have conversation all day long with God. I see absolutely nothing spiritually wrong with saying this prayer to my heavenly father as Jesus taught us to do.

Here is a post from another member of CC talking about the Lord's Prayer. It should be called the disciples prayer during the transitional time before the church age came. and I agree with this statement.
Ok, so you have another CC member from the 21st century...
The problem is, that the first Church prayed the prayer, the very first, almost apostolic one.
It also continues so in the RCC, reformation churches and in the Orthodox church. Its very strange to "discover" something they all could not see, you know.
I never went to a church that recited it - well I went to a Catholic church one time and I think they did it. Not sure. I have not recited it since the early 80's myself.
I have no qualms if people want to pray it or recite it 100 times a day - that's between them and their Father how they interact with each other.

No epistle ever also mentions Mary Magdalene and hundreds of other facts from Gospels... its not a proof of anything, IMHO.
Yeah, you can check for example in Didaché (written in the 1st century):
"And do not pray as the hypocrites, but as the Lord commanded in his Gospel, pray thus:
Our Father, who art in Heaven,
hallowed be thy Name,
thy Kingdom come,
thy will be done, as in Heaven so also upon earth;
give us today our daily bread,
and forgive us our debt as we forgive our debtors,
and lead us not into trial, but deliver us from the Evil One,
for thine is the power and the glory for ever.
Anyway...we are all free in Christ to speak to our loving Father as we desire. Never allow anyone to "lord it over your faith".
I'm off to do some "juicing". It's great stuff for being healthy!
Side note: Actually there is a lady called "The Juice Lady" who has written about juicing that is a Christian and she ahs a fabulous story about how Jesus came and took her out of a house after she was almost beaten to death by a thug.
All of us can do that. The flesh is deceiving! But we forgive and walk on in the love of the Lord.
That's why I am not interacting with those that continue to deceitfully say things that have not been said even after knowing the difference and of course the same applies with those that slander others in the body of Christ.
1 Cor. 5:11 and Rom. 16:17 will help to guard our hearts.
I also wanted to publicly acknowledge and thank trophimus for his respectful behavior while on this thread. Even though we had some differences of opinions in some areas - we still were respectful in our posts and interaction together.
So, it is possible to not agree on some subjects and yet still maintain a Christ-like behavior towards one another in the body of Christ. This glorifies our Lord and Father.

I found it recited in the Lutheran church, they also recited the Apostolic creed of faith after that.
Calvin made many chapters about this prayer in his Institutes, so I suppose calvinists have also no problem with it.
RCC and the Orthodox surely do it too.
So I think it makes a vast majority of Christians.
When I was going to pentecostal churches, I met the opinion that we should not pray it, because the kingdom already came... practically the same reasoning you use, so I suppose this is the source...
I always ask for the Father to give me eyes to see and ears to hear what the Spirit is saying to me and that He would reveal Jesus to me. I do this about 6 or 7 times a day.
I have often said that we are just as dependent on the Holy Spirit to reveal Christ in the scriptures to us as Mary was dependent on the Holy Spirit to conceive Jesus in her womb.

Grace... why not use the Lord's Prayer... you have not recited it since the 80's which is your decision.. but how about you believe and use the prayer given by Our Lord and Saviour? I know you are seeking the Truth by your own admission... oh May you fall in love by coming back from all those people that teach you not the Truth that will set you free.
