I remind myself that I have been crucified with Christ (Galatians 2:20) and that there is therefore now no condemnation because I am in Him (Romans 8:1), and so I must no longer allow myself to be deceived into thinking that because of my sin I am unworthy, or unloved by God, because I know that God is gracious and merciful and will not turn away His face from me if I return to Him (2 Chronicles 30:9).
I know that I am set free from sin because of Christ, that I am forgiven, and no matter what I have done in the past, God has forgiven my wickedness and will remember my sins no more (Hebrews 8:12). I remind myself that I am a sinner, that only Jesus was without sin, and so when I sin again as I am sure to do, I know that I have an advocate with the Father (1 John 2:1). So I must continue to lay aside every sin which clings to me and set my eyes on Jesus (Hebrews 12:1-2), I must put on the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:11), and take up my cross daily and follow Jesus (Matthew 16:24).
These are verses I often return to for encouragement in my daily walk with Christ. None of our walks are perfect, but Matthew 24:13 tells us that the one who endures to the end, will be saved. Praise the Lord!
