I live in America.

I want to die in an isolated libertarian micronation. Preferably in a tropical climate, sufficient to maintain a good cash crop and a population of pretty servant girls.

Actually I have a whole list of reasons why southwest Tennessee is the best place in the world to live.

*rummages around... where did I put that piece of paper...AH!*

We're too far north to get Florida summers.
We're too far south to get Wisconsin winters.
We're too far inland to get hurricanes.
We're too far from the east and west coast to get their smog.
We have never seen drought, though we have heard about it from less fortunate friends in other states.
People are downright neighborly here, something we hear is rare in those states north of us.
Aaaaaaaaand... we still have broadband internet almost everywhere.

Life is good here. If it gets above 100 degrees F or below 0 degrees F it's an event worthy of an article in the newspaper.

...Oh, and if we want to make a call direct to God, it's only 50 cents. From here it's a local call. :D I hear some places, the long distance charge for such a call is more than a hundred bucks.

I recommend Johnson City, Tennessee. Nice city, not too big, not too small, lots of farms in the surrounding countryside to provide good fresh food, and a mountain range in the background. Or if you prefer living in a small town, there's lots of small towns around there and you got your mountains.
Interesting, I forgot there are mountains the other direction. They're not quite like the mountains out west, though, right? I'm looking for the tall, snow-capped peaks. :)

Giving some thought to this question since I first posted in the thread, I am reminded that when I went out to Maine for a job interview a few years ago, I really, really, really liked Maine. I think I could live there and be as happy as I am capable.

Born by the Mississippi River, raised in Denver and now living in Las Vegas.

A small town boy that grew up camping and hiking... now trapped in the entertainment capital of the world.
None of it seems to fit me.

l would love to live in Oz but I'd settle for the beaches of Thailand.
Where l can sculpt, draw, read, eat and maybe figure out how to finish a Rubix Cube properly without having to peel the stickers off and cheating.

Born in Kentucky, then moved to South Florida, then to Southern California and now in North Carolina.

I'm not really sure where I would like to live. Where im at now is pretty good. We have all four seasons. We have warm summers and cold summers. We get some snow, but not a lot. We're inland enough that hurricanes have little effect, but could easily do a weekend beach trip.
I live just outside a smaller city. So I'm five minutes away from stores and restaurants, but far enough out that it feels farther. It's a small, friendly neighborhood, cheap and the house is on a half are, so a good sized front and back yard. Lots of trees around us.
There's probably someplace I'd enjoy more, but I've done so little travelling I wouldn't know.

I am currently in Finland studying, I really don't have any place specific that I would want to be rather in my home country Tanzania. However, I have been thinking about some European countries just to make use of the Schengen visa.
Siisti! Minäkin asuin Suomessa :-D

Missä sinä asut?

And I live in Gran, Norway. An hour's drive north of Oslo. I grew up in a village one hour further north. I have also lived in Finland for ten years.

If God heals me I can move anywhere on the planet. If not, I like it here, but am also ready if God calls me to move, I go. I dream to teach Norwegian abroad. Perhaps England, USA, Canada or Spain, but..... I really love my house. (And it has room for a spouse)

Toinena and Nkirah,

I have NO idea what you two were saying to each other a few posts back, but I love watching people communicate in different languages.

Hope to see more of that in the future (and maybe you can teach us a word/phrase or two.)

So glad to have you both here! <3

Thanks Seoulsearch, I am happy to have such a wonderful imaginary friend like you...wait...who is you (I love your signature)

The language we were writing is Finnish (Suomea) which I happen to know a bit of it but Toinena is the expert here :) and we could all benefit from her amazing skills
