According to scripture the first day of the year is thirteen days prior to Passover, being the fourteenth day of the first month. Passover falls within March or April, depending on the “new moon” and the ripening of barley. By the year 1752 January 1st finally became New Years day according to the calendar we use today.

Eight days after the yearly reincarnation (rebirth) of Nimrod/Tammuz (same person), his circumcision was celebrated, according to “Ashtaroth/Semiramis,” both being Tammuz/Nimrod’s mother and wife, Queen of Heaven." Ashtaroth gave birth to Nimrod, and then married him also.

The eighth day after this annual reincarnation is January 1st according to the Gregorian calendar. According to Ashtaroth (Mother Earth), Tammuz dies every year just before winter begins. As I understand it, “groundhogs day” celebrates this anticipation of reincarnation in the spring, but obviously this was long before the Gregorian calendar existed. Gregory’s calendar was introduced in 1582, his main purpose was to change the date of Ashtaroth/Ishtar, i.e. Easter, but that’s a different story that I care to not introduce at this time.

“All the kingdom of Og in Bashan, which reigned in Ashtaroth and in Edrei, who remained of the remnant of the giants: for these did Moses smite, and cast them out.” (Joshua 13:12)

“Then he brought me to the door of the gate of the Lord's house which was toward the north; and, behold, there sat women weeping for Tammuz.” (Ezekiel 8:14)

Any other things concerning times, seasons and moons of Pagan practices that we might not be aware of, please share, comparing it with scripture, in order for all of us to know what scripture says in relation to our own religious celebrations that we observe annually. Blessings to you all.

These pagan observances of holidays are covered every year on this site. It's almost time for the Halloween bashing to begin. Then Thanksgiving and Christmas and Easter. Plus the minor observances of Valentine's Day and Sweetest Day. It goes on and on. Oh I forget to mention Super Bowl Sunday. At least it's not on the Sabbath so that's a good thing.

The newer members and guests should be the focus of such posts so they can learn about these very serious things. After all, God is not pleased with having His name attached to pagan practices and calling it okay. I didn't start this thread for the benefit of people who have been here for a long time. Just wanted to share what I had learned because things today are so different from proper, truthful observances.

Romans 14

5 One person esteems one day as better than another, while another esteems all days alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind. 6 The one who observes the day, observes it in honor of the Lord. The one who eats, eats in honor of the Lord, since he gives thanks to God, while the one who abstains, abstains in honor of the Lord and gives thanks to God. 7 For none of us lives to himself, and none of us dies to himself. 8 For if we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord's. 9 For to this end Christ died and lived again, that he might be Lord both of the dead and of the living.

I attempted to bring the issue of paganization of Christmas and Easter to the forum a couple of years ago; and my efforts were not well received by most. I wish you every success; but I fear you will get the same reception.

Your intentions are honorable but not all new members are ignorant of spiritual matters or even those that have been members a long time. It seems to be a tradition on this site to always have these pagan holiday threads with most of the posts amusing. It is always a good thing to share your insights but most members already know that most holidays are pagan in origin.

If we would only refer to scripture rather than the traditions of men. Satan is subtle, and (including myself) we have no understanding of how we are attributing to paganism and calling it Christian. Why do we make light of it, and joke around? What is the spiritual influence? How does our Chreator view these things?
