What if someone is a piece of you know what their entire life then says oops I'm sorry God on their deathbed?
Many who were last will be first.

And in the parable, those who only worked a portion of the day received the same wage as the men who worked all day.

Ok, but isn't that the motivation of born again Christians? To avoid eternal damnation?
A Christian has avoided eternal damnation by conversion through the hearing of and belief in the Gospel message; "Repent, and believe the Gospel" - Mark 1:15.

"There is therefore no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus" - Romans 8:1.

Why are a lot of people saying God is Love but leave out the weightier truths about God, just sayin', you have a half of a gospel and not the whole, Kumbaya
AMEN...not only is he the God of love he is also the God of judgment and sometimes he gets highly peeved off.......and in anger responds unto humanity.....

It's no longer unbelievable. He most certainly preaches a works gospel.

And doing it, he wants to bring Christ a little lower.

Imagine that: "Let's take some exaltation away from Christ and His Work, and place some emphasis on, well, me."

Doesn't that attitude sound all too familiar?
AMEN....I about fell out when I seen that quote about me placing too much emphasis upon Christ and not enough on myself.....to be honest....One of the main tenants of Satanism is to worship self and lift self up....I WILL, I WILL, I WILL etc.......I cannot imagine a saved child of God saying that one puts too much emphasis upon Christ and not enough on self......

What is meant by works?
What Blue said in post 37355...

Salvation is by faith dia grace and is eternal......any work or fruit is the result of the faith and salvation one already possesses in Christ and is direct result of a period of maturity and growth.

I want to put this out there to counter the lies being propagated by others upon those who believe in the imputed righteousness of Christ, eternal security, and that all stages of salvation are already complete in us who are trusting in Christ alone, though these are not yet realized fully, i.e. glorification.

1) We do not believe that since we trust Christ we do nothing as we are falsely accused.

2) We do not love sin, want to sin, or look to find an excuse to sin, as we are falsely accused.

3) We do not shun good works nor do we believe them not to be a part of a true converts walk, as falsely accused as if we do no good works whatsoever. We simply know they add nothing nor gain a thing in our salvation.

4) We do believe in evidence of conversion that stems from sanctification.
Let me put this simply.
If you are washed clean, there is not dirt on you, you are clean.
Yet you still need someone elses cleanliness to be taken into account because
yours in not good enough.

So the cleansing you have received is faulty and still dirt remains.
But if the cleansing is false and needs to be improved, as it does not deliver
cleansing and is not acceptable.

So whatever your defence, it is clear you are in unbelief and do not think Christ
has done enough to make you righteous, you still need His righteousness to be
taken.

I hope you see you are taking doube the portion, one is not enough.
When Jesus said to those he healed, "Your sins are forgiven" do you think at that
point they were not forgiven, and He was lying?
He warned them to sin no more, which implies they were clean, pure, holy, undefiled,
but they were capable of defiling themselves again.

Now let this sink in. Jesus cleans those who believe Him. They can be defiled again
if they sin again, it is a choice.

These two principles you deny.

It is hidden in your substitution of us by Christ in everything theology.
But it just hides unbelief, not believing Christ has done enough to cleanse us.

Ironic the very crime you accuse me of, you are guilty of yourself. The enemy is always good
at this deception, so many fall for it, but in the court of the Lord it makes you empty and
powerless.

NO...eternal judgment is avoided by confessing Jesus as Lord and Savior biblically by faith = saved, justified (rendered innocent), sanctified and sealed in Christ eternally by the Holy Spirit....born again of incorruptible seed, saved to the uttermost and kept by the power of GOD....works do not help facilitate our eternal standing before GOD

Paul said....

FAITH plus WORKS to gain, keep, facilitate or finish salvation is a false gospel of a different kind with no power to save, double cursed and all who believe it are foolish and deceived.....Galatians 1 and 3

O foolish Galatians, who has bewitched you, having begun in the spirit are you now made complete by the flesh (works)

What you are saying, no means nothing. People regret lots of things, feeling sorry for it is not
repenting, it is just accepting it was not a good idea.

True repentance is accepting Gods justice on our lives and seeing Christs love and forgiveness
is redemption from the judgement that justly should follow. Few on the death bed admit this or
see it, because they made their minds up long ago to live how they liked.
If you accept Jesus was right, and trust Him to forgive and pull you through, then truly you are
saved.

Sin in its origins is from separation and rebellion against God and life, and taking what you can
get no questions asked. It is blind deaf and dumb and does not understand the options or
consequences. If any lost person wakes up from this and sees Christ, they have real hope.

And he had only a few MOMENTS of faith and repentance before he died..and landed in paradise with God.. :)
Exactly....being put to death for thievery and murder......and valid proof of death bed conversions....with NO works, baptism, church affiliation, sacraments, Lord's supper, back flipping down the isle, speaking in tongues, pot luck dinners, tithing etc......

FAITH while acknowledging JESUS as innocent and LORD......

I realised part of your error, is exalting God so He does everything and you are a passive
participant. It is just passing the buck and not taking the free gift you have been given.

You would be a lousy friend if I opened up to you and you just said, whatever you want
and decide, you do it, I can do nothing. That is not friendship, that is just fear and
abdication of anything of value. But maybe you have never had any friendships that
work and you only know being a background push over.

Jesus tells us what He expects.
1. Love your brother and sisters like He loves us
2. Love our neighbours as we love ourselves
3. Love God with all our heart strength and might
4. Serve where there is need and give as things arise

Then there is praise and worship, daily, constantly, in everything we do.
Then our hearts desire is to work for the Kingdom.

Now does any of this sound like God is doing it and we are doing nothing?
No it sounds like an active partnership, were we are one with Him in heart mind and soul.

This is so far beyond your sharing, it is a wonder you can actually string any words together.
But I do no expect anything more from you. God bless you.

The problem of sectarian belief

You will notice the enemy as they like to call their opponents, are straw men who believe
things they do not believe and do things for reasons they do not do them.

This is needed to make the enemy more evil than just their statements, so everything they
share can be rejected and ridiculed.

Now in true love, it is just a trick of making enemies, because for whatever reason they need
to make them to justify who they are and what they believe. All extreme groups do it, because
it creates a sense of belonging and puts all their problems on their enemies who they blame for
all the rubbish that has happened in their lives. So once you become this enemy, it is very hard
for them to recognise you as a real person like them, who actually is just sharing their life.

That is why we need to love our enemies, because they are just like us, victims of belief and
circumstance, and in need of Gods grace just like us. And some will eventually open up and
become true followers of the Lord, so remember we do not judge people, we only share the
grace of our King with all, Amen.

you just contradicted yourself, since we all who have accepted Christ as saviour, are under his grace we are his "Forever" so your idea of there being some greater cleansing is rather non sense,to put things simply we are saved through Jesus not works, and we since we are not perfect as Jesus was and is we will sin again at some point despite being saved, the point is not that we must desperately keep from sin,we must do what we can for Jesus as "Evidence" of our faith,as well as trust in his promise of salvation, for if we could be without sin, then what did Jesus die for?
Why did Jesus obtain and give to simon peter the keys of hell?
Why did Jesus ascend instead of stay?
why did we receive the comforter the holy spirit?
Because we cannot keep from sin on our own nor is it as "easy" as you proclaim to "Endure" sin,we are not just cleansed completely and told something so trivial and preposterous as "ok you are cleansed now don't sin "ever" again or you will lose your salvation or be cut off from God,to act as if one "cannot" sin somehow is ludicrous,we are to keep from sin but to do so we trust in Jesus's promise of eternal life and that "his grace is sufficient for us" sufficient to keep us going forward for him,yes many sins leave us as we go,because we keep our minds and hearts upon serving God,but there is no way that we will not be afflicted by sin nor that we will not succumb to sim at times, particularly in my case lust or others perhaps pride,it's realizing that we need God that saves us and though we sin we are to understand that so long as we are remorseful when in sin and ask forgiveness then God is forgiving and merciful, willful malicious sin is different but even in such sim we can still ask forgiveness, remember Jesus came not to condemn the world but to save man from their sins, sin whether we like it or not is our nature no matter how we fight against it,that's when we have to ask for Jesus's help to bring us out from sin when we are in need, sin is of man it always lingers with us in the background, all the more reason to turn to God when we feel we will sin, asking for strength to keep from sin, when we are tempted for it is not of ourselves that we keep from sin is from serving and trusting God and trusting his word,I too wish I were free of sin completely but I know that I'll have to endureth until the end for Jesus,so though I be a sinner,I am glad to suffer in service to my lord and my Father God,and I shall trust his Word for I have given my life to him,I can only hope that others believe the same.
