Woman Commit Suicide And Went To Hell and Heaven - Near Death Experience

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uCUzoo_q3yc

Since death means the end of life, near death would only infer that they came close to dying. Wouldn't it?

Since the flesh without the spirit is dead, then only the flesh with the spirit could be near death; so if to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord then as written in Acts 26:28:
Then Agrippa said unto Paul, thou nearly persuadest me to be a Christian.

The Funeral Home moves in and charges an unbelieveable amount of money to plant you in da dirt. The Government moves in to see how much of whatever you leave behind they can steal, and your "loving" relatives begin the WAR to determine who gets what of whatever the Funeral Home and Government don't get.

Fortunately, you will be oblivious to all of this........however..........you better be sure you made the right choice BEFORE you passed over, elsewise I hopes you got a really good fireproof suit........

Jesus is saying to the thief that he will be with him in the earth, in the grave.

Wouldn't the same be true of the unbelieving 2nd thief as well then ? He too would die shortly and be in the grave. Are all who die and go to their graves in this paradise that you speak of ? And if none of them are going to know the difference, why would Jesus say anything at all to the repentant thief ? To comfort and assure him of some future resurrection down the road ? Why wouldn't Jesus just have said that ? Jesus' words as spoken in your understanding offered no hope of comfort (or forgiveness) at all. It doesn't make sense Waggles.

I wonder what Agrippa would say now? Hmmmm......

What happens when you die???

You stinketh. (John 11:39)

Luke 23: 39-43

39 One of the criminals who hung there hurled insults at Him: “Aren’t You the Messiah? Save yourself and us!”
40 But the other criminal rebuked him. “Don’t you fear God,” he said, “since you are under the same sentence? 41 We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong.”
42 Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when You come into Your kingdom.”
43 Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.”

Notice Jesus did NOT say that to the other guy..........

Many deny that Luke's 16:19–31 is a parable, even though there are many chapters full of parables leading up to those verses.
The reason those that say it is not a parable, is because Jesus uses a name in this story, where He does not use names in parables.

Hi plainguy,

Let's take this apart for you. Even if you didn't like Waggles explanation there might be another. There was no punctuation in the original Greek manuscripts of the New Testament. So here is what you had:

43 Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.”

Here is what it could be:
43 Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you today, you will be with me in paradise.”

The same sentence take on another perspective. Think about it.

For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
Philippians 1:21
I do not interpret this and the following verses to mean that Paul is transported up up and away to Heaven immediately to be with Christ.
That is very Roman Catholic rather than scriptural.
It also contradicts the many scriptures that refer to the dead as sleeping in forgetfulness.

Both the OT and the NT clearly describe an awakening from "the grave" so to speak and a person then seeing God - an example that readily comes to mind is
Psalm 17:15
As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness.

confirmed throughout the NT with scriptures such as -
1Corinthians 15:
35 But some man will say, How are the dead raised up? and with what body do they come?
42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:
51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
1Thessalonians 4:16

You are confused, the RCC teaches that some go to heaven and others go to pergatory, but to say that as you put it, "up up and away to heaven to be with Christ" is not Biblical is incorrect. II Corinthians 5:8 “We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.”

So you are not Biblical in your belief system, because at death we are immeditly with the Christ. It does not say that we go to heaven, but I would assume that where the Lord is that would be heaven because that is where He dwells and upon death we that are saved go to be with Him, where ever He is, in what state we will be in is another story, but we will be with Chirst. I think whoever is teaching you these things has heaven and our immortal bodies confused.

Because Psalm 17:15 is what is said in I John 3:2
“Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.”

The idea of being asleep as believers is that we are not spiritually dead and will not expirence the second death, with the resurrection being the awakening that we expirence if we are not asleep at the Lord's coming.

John 11:11-13 “After saying these things, he said to them, “Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep, but I go to awaken him.
12 The disciples said to him, “Lord, if he has fallen asleep, he will recover.”13 Now Jesus had spoken of his death, but they thought that he meant taking rest in sleep.14 Then Jesus told them plainly, “Lazarus has died,”

Jesus explained in these verses that a believer when they are dead, they are asleep, as opposed to being both spiritually and physically daed as sinners are, we as believers are not spiritually dead, we are only physically dead or as Jesus put it, asleep.

All believers will be with the Lord upon death, according to the Bible.

The dead have no hope and die for ever. (Atheist).

It is not only attributed to a atheist, as soon as anyone leaves this realm under the sun it universal Alzheimer's. The former things will not be remembered or ever comes to mind .One having passed from death to eternal life will be raised to new spirit life on the last day the other who has not been given a new spirit that will never die... will not be raised ..

No spirit essence by which he could be raised.

Seen that explanation before. It doesn't wash tho. Truly I tell you today ... in lieu of what ? ... truly I tell you tomorrow ? :o Naw. Jesus would have said ... Truly I tell you <stop> ... one day you will be with me in paradise.

The reason those that say it is not a parable, is because Jesus uses a name in this story, where He does not use names in parables.

I would say he uses many names in parables .Like for instance a few

By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son,Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called: Accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead; from whence also he received him in a figure.(parable) Heb 11:16

Or another parable

By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau concerning things to come. Heb 11:17

3850 parabole {par-ab-ol-ay'}
from 3846; TDNT - 5:744,773; n f
AV - parable 46, figure 2, comparison 1, proverb 1; 50
1) a placing of one thing by the side of another, juxtaposition, as of ships in battle 2) metaph. 2a) a comparing, comparison of one thing with another, likeness, similitude 2b) an example by which a doctrine or precept is illustrated 2c) a narrative, fictitious but agreeable to the laws and usages of human life, by which either the duties of men or the things of God, particularly the nature and history of God's kingdom are figuratively portrayed 2d) a parable: an earthly story with a heavenly meaning 3) a pithy and instructive saying, involving some likeness or comparison and having preceptive or admonitory force 3a) an aphorism, a maxim 4) a proverb 5) an act by which one exposes himself or his possessions to danger, a venture, a risk

Seen that explanation before. It doesn't wash tho. Truly I tell you today ... in lieu of what ? ... truly I tell you tomorrow ? :o Naw. Jesus would have said ... Truly I tell you <stop> ... one day you will be with me in paradise.

To be absent of the body is to be present with the Lord its all in the twinkling of the eye no limbo or holding cell. That holding cell as graves were opened when Christ said it is finished. There was nothing that could hold them back any longer.

When a saint dies today they do enter that first resurrection into the holy city the new heavenly Jerusalem prepared as His one bride the church witnessed by many angels . No waiting or taking a number.

And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.Matthew 27:52

None of this is true according to the New Testament. As already mentioned, those who focus on the afterlife as described in the Old Testament simply go into error, and that is obvious in your statements.

Let's take this erroneous statement and examine it in the light of New Testament truth: The former things will not be remembered or ever comes to mind.

When we turn to Revelation 20:12 this is what we read: And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

So were the former things brought to mind? Very definitely. And were they judged according to the former things? Very definitely. As you can see you simply neglected to study what the New Testament has to say about the afterlife (and beyond) and simply resorted to the OT. And that is why we have this false doctrine of Soul Sleep being promoted in this thread.

so are you saying that soul sleep was true in the old testament and no true in the new testament?

If you go to heaven when you die do you see what is happening on earth?
If you go to heaven in the year 100ad and watch until Jesus come again do you have a body?
Was eternal life given to all the saved at the cross and will the unsaved go to hell at the cross?

No. that is NOT what I am saying. The bodies of the OT saints were in their graves -- giving the appearance of sleep -- but their souls and spirits were in Sheol/Hades separate from the unsaved dead. And they were silent in Sheol since they were awaiting the resurrection of Christ. The full revelation of the afterlife was given by Christ, who also took the souls and spirits of all the OT saints with Him to Heaven, where they were perfected ( presumably by receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit). Thus they are now "the spirits of just [justified] men made perfect".

At the same time the unsaved dead also went (and continue to go) to Sheol/Hades, to a separate region, and we know that they are in torment, awaiting their final judgment at the Great White Throne.

The afterlife is not fully revealed in the OT, and that is why we need to study both Testaments to get the complete picture. We know that after the resurrection of Christ, the souls and spirits of the saints go directly to Heaven, and the best example is the martyrdom and death of Stephen (Acts 7 & 8). He spoke directly to Christ and said "Lord Jesus receive my spirit" and that is what happened. All of this is confirmed in Hebrews 12:22-24.
