You are new here, so perhaps a little context is required:

If someone started trying to convince you of some theological point based on the fact that the tooth fairy was real - I think you would question that, yes?

What we are doing is very similar.
James37 is basing everything he is saying on a fantasy.
The fantasy is that the KJV is special, so special that it contains revelation from God not found in any other Bible. So special that it contains all these "patterns" and numbers that are clearly from God and somehow have the significance he attaches to them.
None of these claims stand up to any kind of scrutiny, yet James37 persists with his ridiculous claims.

I made the observation early on that he would be better off reading Alice in Wonderland and I stand by that....

If you believe that his claims have any merit then that just makes you a fellow-traveller with him and subject to the same delusion and deception.
Hopefully, you will realise that he really is talking nonsense...

The tools available to me are not as rigorous or extensive as those that James37 is using, but I offer this as evidence of numeric patterns in something other than the KJV. The reality is that if we look hard enough, we will find such numeric patterns in any larger body of text. The existence of such patterns unfortunately "proves" nothing at all, other than their own existence.

You are overlooking one huge difference Dino246. What I have just now posted is specific to Revelation 22:1 and it alone. The point is that they converge on the verse in question. you jumped all over the Bible first off as where I didn't. What I presented is nth occurrence of the word, verse containing a word in Revelation 22:1 and the the nth chapter and book for Revelation 22. You erected a straw man by jumping all around.

As I said in my opening, I don't have access to such rigorous tools, and that was a brief analysis.

"Straw man" is the wrong term, by the way. Nothing that I did was fallacious.

The reason I asked the question previously is that it is very easy to select what numbers you emphasize. We cannot know whether you have done extensive research and merely selected the verses that show a greater convergence of supposedly-important numbers. Try your analysis on Rev. 22:2, Rev. 22:3, etc. Sure, you'll find interesting number occurrences, but you would find such things in any larger body of text and in any translation.

What I'm trying to put across to you is that the number patterns don't "prove" anything at all. If you appreciate them, fine... have at it. I will challenge you on two things though: spend at least as much time studying the plain text as you do the number patterns, and spend at least as much time sharing the plain gospel with unbelievers. Prove to them that Jesus exists... that would be of far greater value.

37 + 100= 137. So, you do make up your rules as you go along, then forget them when it is convenient - like when someone calls you by actually looking at the numbers in the NIV, to show you that any text can be manipulated, exactly as you have done!

So, even when someone shows you point blank that you can manipulate any version to have these number patterns, you are just going to apply different rules, than even you use, and throw it out.

Pretty dishonest coverup!

PS. I trust Dino! I've known him a while, he is consistent and loves Jesus. So, if he wants to add a new rule, I am all for supporting him. Unless it is an old rule. It is a straw man because you comparing apples to oranges! By the way you forgot to subtract out the the footnote for "Throne" contained in Revelation 4:1 of the NIV. Revelation 22:1 is the 40th occurrence of the word "throne" and the 36th verses containing the word "throne" or "thrones." I guess if you want to count the footnote you can say 37. It is the 43rd occurrence of "throne" (throne or thrones) in the book of Revelation in the NIV.

Actually I don't because 137 is a prime number and all I do is factor. You cannot factor the number 137 just as you cannot factor the number 53. A simple rule of mathematics. With your reasoning any number greater than 37 could be counted. 38 = 37 +1; It is meaningless.

I understand that it is difficult to count words and phrases in the NIV using Bible Gateway. It counts all the words in the footnotes as well as the text. The number it does give is a count of verses only on not occurrences. If you search "throne" it will return "throne" or "thrones".

You counted this verse in your count of the "the angel" 154 in the NIV and 28 times in the NIV (all the number you gave were verses and not occurrences) so now you have 153 times in the NIV and 27 times in Revelation of the NIV. The numbers you presented aren't even accurate so you cannot trust anything you posted as far as the NIV is concerned.
