My birthday is coming up, and a student asked me what would be the best present to receive from a boyfriend or of a spouse. I was not really thinking about it, because I have neither. And my ex husband always forgot my birthday. I was lucky if he managed to give me a present before Christmas.

But, although not a materialistic type of girl, I started thinking what would be the ultimate present from the ultimate guy. He has to know me well enough and love me highly enough to know.

And my answer, after a couple of days thinking was:

A baroque bassoon. I have wanted that for years! And I would love playing in a baroque ensemble on an original instrument. (Or replica). No diamonds, flowers or even a car. This would be the ultimate token of his love.

Hopefully, if you are ever remarried your husband would be as musically inclined as you are. I am also sure that your husband would be sensitive to your needs and would do his best to make this request happen because he loves you.

Prove their love. Hmmm. They don't have to. A roll in the hay does say a lot to me though.

At almost $7,000 USD, I would certainly hope so.

I immediately thought of something non material ...what would prove his love for me is faithfulness. I think that's the best thing someone can give their spouse...faithfulness till death.

But an object? Hmm...I would want a diamond wedding ring. Not that I'm materialistic...but I will wear this ring for the rest of my life, hopefully. So yeah I want a decent looking one...a white gold diamond ring of decent size. :D

Philosophically, an immaterial object is still considered an object.

On the other hand, I've never dated a girl who was willing to accept a bouquet of philosophy.

For me the love of my life would be a "she" first off,and well when I think in depth I suppose items aren't all that important to me though I have had many possessions over time.
The way to know she's the love of my life would be "love" it may sound odd in today's time but I'd like her to be someone that could love me and I her,I've often listened to the song "ordinary miracles" in the movie "hunch back of notredame 2" a movie depicting a physically deformed 30 year old man still longing to find someone to love him because he's watched so many couples and wonders "maybe someone could love me".
To be honest I have lacked that sensation over the years in family love but after seeing both my younger brothers(one's 2 years younger and the other's slightly younger than him) now married to women they love I can't help but still ponder that question especially with the subject of couples and love brought up so many times here,I know my mother loves me and that God/Jesus loves me and that friends love me but I still am moving forward wondering if I'll ever experience love that joins the mind and soul.
I mean to be totally honest I am not totally honest with anyone here or in family,I'm an introverted wreck still "hoping" for things that may come to pass I don't know if there is anyone who could understand me let alone stand me because I've lived by habit and living in constant emotional defense that I don't even know if I have it in me to sincerely love outside the window of the internet it's such a foreign emotion that I often feel guilty for not caring more, not to mention that letting someone "nearly entirely" in to my life is such a sort of "scary" thing because just with family alone I have "let them in" so many times into my heart and mind just to get used and have my "hopes" demolished or delayed because of their "agendas".
Sorry to pretty much be such a "downer" on this typical subject,I just simply can't help but be brought to sorrow and expounding my feelings because well I have been hurting emotionally and spiritually for so long that though I get a glimpse of possible happiness and love in my future it's practically unbearable to keep trudging on "speculating" and then brought to sorrow because of how long I've waited and "endured" to find both in someone besides God/Jesus.

Well, if she was truly the LOVE of my life, that would really mean that she is who I choose to love as my partner in life. That being the case, she has already done what she needed to do...nothing. She is herself, and that is the reason I love her. I have learned the purer and more powerful the love is, the fewer conditions and expectations are unified with it. I believe Love is the most powerful entity in existence. I believe it exists even when no one is there to experience it. I believe it is of the spiritual realm, and I believe it manifests itself when and where and in whom it chooses
I don't believe TRUE love can be conjured, made, or willed into the heart of at individual. I believe TRUE LOVE is perfect, with characteristics we can only remotely begin to fathom. I believe when love blesses someone with its manifestation in their heart and soul, it is felt to be nothing less than divine.
But, when you take something so powerful, pure, and perfect, and you channel it through a marred, imperfect being who is full of character defects, shortcomings, and expectations, it can feel perfect, by be portrayed as marred and imperfect.
Love is something I look to possess to give it away. I find less flaw and vulnerability to get emotionally hurt if I focus on perfecting the delivery, not on what I SHOULD be receiving.
God Bless, and I hope you discover a singlebact or deed that fills you with unwavering doubt they love you. I myself don't believe that proceed forth out of the realm of wisdom. But hey, who am I right? Pesce..
Love you all!
