So a word of knowledge can only be something from Scripture?

Two kinds of circular reasonings. One that comes from the spiritual words... faith to faith as it is written as the unseen knowledge of God hid in parables. The law of the faith of Christ. And the other kind of circular reasonings after the things seen of the philosophies of men as the knowledge of the wisdom of this world, after the god of this world (no law)

The question becomes which master will a person serve? The things of men seen or the things of God not seen? One offends the, other protect like a flaming sword, the armor of God

Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee. But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men. Mathew 16:22-23

Again The word "unknown" was added all six times (I Cor. 14:2, 4, 13, 14, 19, & 27,) for those who seek to edify their own selves as a false evidence they are being filled with the Holy Spirit . No outward sign gifts .8
‘Unknown’ was NOT added for those who “seek to edify their own selves”. Your reasoning is still circular... the bad kind.

You really aren’t understanding the concept of circular reasoning. Once again, there aren’t two kinds, but only one, and it is flawed thinking. Much as you like to make things up, your fantastic inventions aren’t the subject of my criticism. You are employing the fallacy of circular reasoning. It’s bad reasoning on your part.

what tongues are talked about in the bible ?
The the tongues in which God inspired as new revelations in all the languages of the world With stammering of mocking lips he brought new prophecy in other languages other that Hebrew alone. It was a sign to the unbelieving Jew (no faith) who were mocking the word of God in their own language refusing to hear what the Holy Spirit said . You could say they mocked God be refusing to hear the word of God but rather built their (no faith) on rather the imaginations of their own hearts as oral traditions of men called fathers.
The kind of fathers that Christ called a brood of vipers.

Whose circular reasoning? That which come by comparing the spiritual understanding of God's spiritual words as a law of faith to the same work of faith . God's wisdom hid from natural man, that natural unconverted man rejects? and neither can he know them seeing they are spiritually understood by the Spirit of Christ who dwell in those that are new born again creatures

Or comparing the philosophical opinions as theories of natural man to the philosophical opinions of men as vain oral traditions? The wisdom of this world

Colossians 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

Once again, you don't understand what circular reasoning is. I see no willingness on your part to learn what the term means or to understand why it is unsound thinking.

Sure I do if a person violates the law they pay the wage .If they pay the wage it proves the violated the law . What goes up must come down, spinning wheels spinning round .

Teach me.

How do you define the law of God if not by comparing scripture to scripture(faith to faith) ? Scripture defines scripture. Not Webster's dictionary

that is not all correct. The did mock and they did say they were drunk . BUT 3000 were saved too. The end result of what happened is 3000 were saved. This is what Jesus said would happen after the empowering of the Holy Spirit , " you shall be a witness". Acts 1:8.
no need to allergorize it with other verses.

Yes but it was Peter preaching Christ and Him crucified that produced the salvation of 3000 souls. The Holy Spirit bringing conviction in the hearts of those who heard the gospel preaching.

What you describe is the law of sowing and reaping. It has nothing to do with circular reasoning. The two are completely unrelated.

I posted three web links for you to read for yourself; apparently you did not look them up.

Circular reasoning is using your starting premise as proof of your conclusion, which is itself your starting premise, as follows:

Premise 1: Self-edification is bad.
Premise 2: Building up of self instead of building up the church is selfish, self-focused, and contrary to the use of gifts for the common good.
Conclusion: Self-edification is bad.

That, while a simple example, illustrates what you've been doing. No matter what other information you put in between your first premise and your conclusion, if they are essentially the same thought, your reasoning is circular.

How do you define the law of God if not by comparing scripture to scripture(faith to faith) ? Scripture defines scripture. Not Webster's dictionary
True, but we are talking about the definition of a term ("circular reasoning") that doesn't appear in Scripture so you cannot use Scripture to define it.

As for edification, which does appear in Scripture, neither you nor Roger has admitted (I suspect you haven't even investigated) that in every other case where the word is used, it is clearly positive. Since edification is a good thing generally, it cannot automatically become bad when applied reflexively, that is, to oneself. In other words, self-edification is not a bad thing, but a good thing. As long as you start with the premise that self-edification is bad, your conclusion that it is bad is circular and invalid as a basis for further argumentation.

what tongues are talked about in the bible ?
Two kinds...

The first, a public tongue with interpretation, aka prophecy. No interpreter, keep quiet.

The second, an in-private tongue between you and God.

I've color coded the differences here:
https://christianchat.com/blogs/prophecy-and-tongues-differentiated-part-1.174929/
https://christianchat.com/blogs/prophecy-and-tongues-differentiated-part-2.174930/
(And let me know if you need an interpreter to read it. My computer and this website are at odds about font sizing).

I assume the private tongue is the one you spoke about, saying it was a different language every time and that you had no understanding. Most, not all but most I've known have a regular 'language', it could be you are new and haven't 'learned' yours yet? But together with not having understanding, it raises a yellow flag for me.

Paul said he didn't understand at first, then asked for understanding and received it. I followed the same pattern and got the same results. What I found is to pray like Paul ultimately did ... pray what you can for something in english (or whatever your native language is), which you understand; Then if you are praying sincerely your heart and mind will continue on with that 'subject' while your lips then speak to things you don't know about ... but God does. I pray for danja in english, then I pray for danja in a tongue. And together I understand that the Holy Spirit and I have prayed for danja over both the known, and the mysteries, that surround you :)

Test the spirits. It is only by the Holy Spirit that one can say "Jesus is Lord". At times when I feel like something might be interfering with my prayers, I start repeating "Jesus is Lord" "Jesus is Lord" "Jesus is Lord"... If you're ever unsure about where a language is coming from, start saying that. It'll help ensure that your lips are the Lord's, and not affected by some outside influence.

God Bless you

The power to be witnesses allowed them to proclaim the word of God. The Holy Spirit made the word of God powerful unto the saving of souls just as it does today. The gospel is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth. Romans 1:16
