Uhh..
What exactly are they symbolic of, if thats the case?
For one, a snake is not a beast, it is a creeping thing.
Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made.
Gen 3:1
And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and
creeping thing, and
beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so. Gen 1:24
Whatsoever goeth upon the belly, and whatsoever goeth upon all four, or whatsoever hath more feet among all creeping things that creep upon the earth, them ye shall not eat; for they are an abomination Lev 11:42
One of themselves, even a prophet of their own, said, The Cretians are alway liars, evil beasts, slow bellies. Titus 1:12
As far as what they symbolic for is liken to the symbolic language used in Matthew 7:6 wherein it is written, "Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you."
