I am not a Calvinist by any stretch but I do believe in eternal security. Calvinists, though, break it down like high exalted members of the Raccoon Lodge, only their members need apply.
.
If we do not share Jesus and the Gospel He brought to us, we are not believers at all....thanks...

BaptistBibleBeliever Peter Ruckman say this when asked if he is calvinist or arminian: he said: "Im arminian until I come to the cross, then after the cross im a calvinist"
The people that asked him if he were a Calvinist responded with, "That not a very good answer." To which Ruckman replied, "Well, that's not a very good question!"

Basically I don't like any doctrine that would steal any person's zeal to want to witness to others. Calvinism quashes that desire as being totally unnecessary.

I don't have any problems with Christians -- just those that play one on the internet.
I have a problem with your lying about Calvinists and calvinism. For example that "A true Calvinist doesn't believe a person even needs to be saved."

They believe they were chosen before the foundation of the world . . . they are already saved, so, that is why they don't need to be saved (again).

I mean, if you are already chosen . . . by . . . God, then you are in. I am not even aware that folks in Calvinism are even taught about any kind of a 'sinner's prayer.'

You can think and speculate all the way long, but thats you, not calvinism, not calvinists, not "true calvinists".

If they were chosen by God before the foundation of the world, then there would never had been a time where they were objects of God's wrath as stated in Ephesians 2.

1And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; (not so if I were chosen by God before the foundation of the world."
2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world (false), according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. False

Somehow, God chose them before the foundation of the world, then they fell out of Christ and into Adam, then upon believing the gospel, they got back into Christ. Bizarre.

More like they were chosen in Christ and then unchosen and then chosen again . . . slinky, slinky, wonderful wonderful toy!

I don't claim that the Calvinists are consistent . . . they use whatever verse suits their views. Ephesians 2:1 is moreso used to teach TOTAL DEPRAVITY. And their explanation of how that applies to salvation is as skewed as can be.

If the Holy Spirit quickens that fellow, and He gives him life, then he repents. And then he believes on Christ. He could not repent until God quickened him, and he couldn’t believe until God quickened him. So you have a backwards salvation. The fellow is saved, then he repents. Then he believes, and he receives. That has some interesting overtones.

"For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren" (Romans 8:29).

I'll just go with the English . . .
Right. (y)

I wonder what they do with "G4276 - proēlpikotas" - "fore-hoped"

"From pro and elpizo; to hope in advance of other confirmation" [per Bible Hub; Strong's Exhaustive Concordance]

["the [ones] having fore-hoped [G4276] in Christ" - Eph1:12... certainly THIS didn't occur in "eternity past"... but some DO suggest we were (literally) there! lol]

Foreknowledge would insist that we were all in God's thoughts before he ever uttered, "Let there be light!" In a sense, we could say 'literally', nor not 'physically.'

God already knows the number of saved, and the number of lost. I believe that when that last person gets saved . . . the Lord will come for His church.

How many billions of people have set foot on this planet? Countless. Yet Scripture tells us that even the hair on our heads has been counted by Him.

Like the song says, "Our God in an AWESOME God."

Beautiful! As a child I had a waking vision, and thought I was a little bit young to know such things I felt I understood what I saw. All souls that ever were or will be (in this age that is) were all billowing on the edge of a precipice in darkness. There seemed to be no bottom to the place where it dropped off. Across this "pit or bottomless vally there was land and a very small light.

The light seemed to be beckoning ALL with the message, belive me and you will be able to come across with no harm. Of course I was there and I understood, while many souls just kind of billowed hovering a bit and looking at each other bewildered…….do not ask me how, but I knew this.

I never mentioned this again until I was given to believe, and it told me more, but the more part may be my own thinking over the yers, it has been 67 of them things since.

It gave me the tendency to believe we were made in the spirit long before we came to be put into bodies of flesh…..

On that last part, whether it is correct or not has little bearing on Salvation by the Blood of the Lamb of God…...this is my only true eternal faith and will be always.

...and I believe that when He comes for "the Church which is His body" (at our Rapture) more people will come to faith AFTER THAT

... and that this is the distinction between "chosen IN Him BEFORE [pro] the foundation of the world" (said regarding "the Church which is His body" [completed at Rapture]), and what He says to those [saved persons] entering the promised and prophesied earthly Millennial Kingdom upon His "RETURN" to the earth (i.e. those who come to faith WITHIN the future tribulation period), which is, "come, ye blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom having been PREPARED FOR YOU *FROM [apo] [not BEFORE, as is used of others elsewhere] the foundation of the world" [Matt22:9-14 (FOR the earthly MK) "called[invited] / chosen"]

I wasn't suggesting that we pre-existed in eternity with God, only that God knew everything about us though we were not yet born. Now Mormons do teach this, saying that we were all angels and were the 2/3rds that rebelled and left heaven. Now those disembodied spirits are being born into this world with a chance to become Mormons. I hate to say that I even believed it for a spell until God saved me and showed me His Word.

I'm thrilled that you are trusting in the Blood of the Lamb! That's what it is all about!

Yes, people will become saints of God after the rapture, only not those that had already heard, and previously rejected, the Gospel. This is what Paul is talking about in Thessalonians.

"For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness" (II Thessalonians 2:7-12).

The impression I always had is that God created all that is as a kind of refining element, like He says in Isaiah, which I read much later. "Behold I refine you, but not like gold or silver. Fo my own sake I do it that you be not cut off." That is in quotes but it is a paraphrase from Isaiah. It does say what He says though.

I have the understanding that we are being given the opportunity to choose while also being refined like the gold that is our faith. Sorry if I am not perfectly clear in my verbal rendition but it is not important to know at all, it jsut always comforted me until the Holy Spirit actually entered into me, my heart, much later in life, 25. Sorry to bend your ear so.

All blessing in Jesus Christ…, amen.

The refining which is not meant to destroy is akin to the branches of John 15 that the cultist is trying so hard to confuse everyone with.

The refining to which I refer is the refining of our souls in the furnace of affliction that we not be cut off. The Father does this for our own sake. I know my own walk is filled with affliction from birth, but after coming to Jesus as my King and Salvation, it is all like nothing, and does not even hold a flicker in front of the affliction our Savior endured for each of us.

Praise Jesus Christ for paying the price, a price no mortal could afford.......amen.
