you have any more gnats to strain at?
23Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.24Ye blind guides, which strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel.

Those straining at gnats are obsessed with how many sins they turned from and how much better they think they are and worthier of heaven they think they are than others. Yet all they have is filthy rags and no faith.

I guess you're happy throwing out verses and condemning others. When you're interested in an actual discussion, let us know.

How have I condemned anyone? I didn't throw those verses out. Someone else did slandering me. I simply responded with the referenced verses. I love how people always accuse someone of condemnation once context is brought to the table.

What I saw in your post was a verse and then comments on that verse. Those comments sure looked condemnatory.

If they were not intended as such, then I offer my apology.

Numbers 23:19 says God is not man that He should repent. When one repents, one does in fact, turn from sin.
And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not.
Jonah 3:10 KJV

Jonah 3:10 KJV shows that
>turning from sin is works (eph 2:8-9, Romans 3:28, 4:6, Titus 3:5)
>God repents

As for Numbers, when it says "God is not a man that he should lie, nor repent," it is saying that God does not change his mind about his promises to his people. That is the context. It's not saying he never repents (changes his mind). He changed his mind about what he would do to Nineveh. What he doesn't change his mind about is his promises:

"God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good? Behold, I have received commandment to bless: and he hath blessed; and I cannot reverse it" (Numbers 23:19-20).
This is surely a marvellous declaration. It tells us that once God enters into an unconditional covenant with any people He will never call back His words.

We see this also in God's eternal security, that he will not change his mind about what he has given us:

For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.
Romans 11:29 KJV

My friend, God is all-knowing. When someone changes their mind, they learned something that caused them to change their mind. God is not caught off guard by anything anyone does. God does not change His man.

What I see is man trying to do tear God down to exalt themselves or make themselves on His level.

Of course, but that doesn't mean he doesn't change his mind. He did so in Jonah 3:10. He changed his mind (repented) about what he would do to Nineveh because "he sas Nineveh's works that they turned from their evil way".

There's no reason to assume changing your mind means you learn something. Rather, saying God doesn't change his mind takes away God’s free will. And I'll go with scriptures that say God changes his mind:

"And God repented" - Jonah 3:10 KJV.

"And the LORD repetnted of the evil which he thought to do unto his people." - Exodus 32:14

Here's a sample of the Complete Jewish Bible:

Psalms 23:

1 A psalm of David: ADONAI is my shepherd; I lack nothing.

2 He has me lie down in grassy pastures, he leads me by quiet water,

3 he restores my inner person. He guides me in right paths for the sake of his own name.

4 Even if I pass through death-dark ravines, I will fear no disaster; for you are with me; your rod and staff reassure me

5 You prepare a table for me, even as my enemies watch; you anoint my head with oil from an overflowing cup.

6 Goodness and grace will pursue me every day of my life; and I will live in the house of ADONAI for years and years to come.

I often read it when I read my KJV just to see how they compare..... You can download it FREE from here:

Again, if you change your mind, you learned something that caused you to change it. God is not capricious, and we get falsely accused of believing in a capricious God. If God changes His mind, then He is capricious,
