How long have ya'll been here?

Hello everyone! Since the Singles Forum is a popular forum on CC, I thought was best to start this thread here. I was scrolling in the Christian forums and have noticed peeps here who have been here for quite some time (about 5 years or more)....and yet, they're still active and going. Which is awesome!

I also note that CC began in 2009 (correct me if I'm wrong). So, I was curious, how many of you have been here ever since it's founding?

I have some more questions for all of you, but of course, take part in the poll!

These are some interesting questions to answer:

1. For those who have been here for like a year or TWO (like me) do you plan to stay here for as long as it takes?
2. Longtime members..... what is it you have enjoyed the most of CC? Name a few examples
3. If you could remember, how did you find the site and what was your first response?

I guess those are the questions I can come up with for now...

It would be very nice to hear all of your opinions! And please don't be shy to share your experiences...

And, if you have curious questions to ask concerning this, don't hesitate

Actually Christian Chat was founded in '97 or '98. Alayna J is the longest active member (other than the founder) and her join date is in "99. Originally it was just chat rooms and then the forums were added at a later date.

It says I joined in 2009, but I think that might be because the big crash that year kind of reset everything. I know I was here way before the crash happened. I just don't know exactly how long before. My best guess would be a year or two.... so 2008/2007?

The Great CC Crash was late December 2010 or early January 2011 (unless there was another one before then) because I joined early December of 2010. RoboOp hadn't done a backup on the server in a month or two when the server crashed so every new profile, every post and every Admin action that had taken place in those couple of months was wiped out thus my join date showing in Jan of 2011.

No worries.. I think they had some server problems and a lot of records must have been wiped.. That's life..

I joined in 2011. I joined because I wanted to use the chat rooms. But I wasn’t really active in them until late 2013 maybe. Then in 2015 I became active in the forums.

Hey Melita....very interesting...you know, I had no idea CC started out as chatrooms...so, I'm pretty much learning...

I joined in March 2014. I had just lost my late wife and felt lonely and isolated. I did a search for Christian chat rooms and this was the first site listed.

The first couple weeks I just went on the chat rooms but found that the conversation flow was not really very deep or interesting. Someone suggested I give the forums a try. At first I didn't even know the site had forums or how to navigate them. I just started clicking on everything possible and see what happened.

This site has been a tremendous blessing to me as I have met many wonderful people. One former member Willie-T lived a few miles from me and we met for lunch quite a few times but not have not stayed in contact since he left the site. I have talked to Blain on the phone once. Of course, I met my current wife (and last wife) JesusLives on this site as well. She has spoken on the phone to quite a few members and has written cards to many of them, and still does during the Christmas holiday season.

I love Christian Chat and I'm proud to be a member and strive to set a good Christian example. Of course, I fail at times doing this but we are just human after all trying to do the best with what God has provided. And He provides a lot.

I joined in February of 2014. I was having an awful bout of depression, so I decided to try and find an online Christian chat site. Out of all the ones I found, this one was the only one that I could preview and observe before I joined. Tourist and JesusLives were two of the first people who befriended me on here. I haven't met anyone in person, but I do have the addresses of a few people on here.

CC will be a place where I will go to from time to time, I guess. But I have a feeling it will be more poetry and blog entries and less singles.
I started here after being banned from a prayer app. Yes! It is true! I tried the chatrooms and posted a couple of threads. Remember Lynx and Addison from the beginning and also Tourist.
