Have you ever noticed that sometimes Christians, so called brothers and sisters, are more guarded? Why do you suppose that is? Am I seeing it wrong, just not focusing on the right enough? Maybe because we all define love differently. I think if we seek to ooze out His love wherever we go, with whomever we meet, it isnt always welcomed. I get it. But are we not called to be warm and welcoming in thought and in deed, especially to our Christian family? How can we be a vessel for him, if we are so consumed in suspicion? I am not suggesting that we are sappy and needy, though from time to time I can be both. I just wish sisters were nicer, more tender hearted with each other. I say sisters because I know we have to be careful about sending the wrong kind of signal to the opposite sex. On that note though, warmth and kindness, brother and sisterly love, shouldn't be misunderstood so easily. As I get older, guys don't look at me that way as much anymore anyways, lol. I suppose that is good, Hahaha, bless my heart.

Seriously though, to all of us, that are one in Him, without gender or anything else, let's make sure those we encounter never doubt that we see their value and worth. Treating folks, every last one of them, with dignity should be our norm, our first go to. Together, let's extend a little more love, forgiveness and appreciation, try a little harder; let every cashier, every waitress, every worker, every child we meet, every older person alone in the corner, and yes to eachother, let's open the eyes of our hearts and see how much healthy love we can give. He finds us all worthy to be His, so why don't we seek to see His loves through the eyes of unyielding mercy? How can we point to him when our minds and hearts are closed?

We are all a part of the portion He gives, to our loves, to one another, to all who cross our paths.

Ok, enough of that...clearly I have issues and need a hug, hahahaha.

I love you all... God Bless you and yours.

Big hugs to you, CharliRenee.

I'm not always able to read all your threads but I do try to catch them when I can.

It seems that maybe you've been struggling in your season of singleness lately--we can certainly all relate to that--and, we are here to listen to you and help cheer you on. We're all in this together!

Here's another one for the road! (HUG.)

Blessings to you.

P.S. By the way, I'm also very jealous of your hair. :D I'm guessing all those beautiful, beachy waves are natural? Grr. That is one blessing I definitely envy. :)

You are so precious and delightful. Your presence a blessing. Oh please don't think that I am referring to here in the forums. Oh my, I see so much warmth and kindness here, given to me and to each other. Sorry for giving that impression and being negative. Tsk tsk @Me. I guess I'm bleeding all over my font here because of something outside of here. Hahaha, I am doing better with my singleness. He has delivered me for the time being. Holy Moly, I must be dealing with unmet expectations, shame on me. We should love without any expected return, none whatsoever. But u sure blessed me. Thank you. Huggers Sis...♡♡♡

It is said that a dog who has once been bitten by a snake will be afraid of even a rope. In other words if you have been hurt in a situation you will then be naturally afraid of anything that even looks like the situation that hurt you. This I believe is why many people keep themselves closed off and don't reach out.

Also the effect seems to be more pronounced with age. Has anybody else ever noticed this? A child reacts to any given circumstance normally, but it seems the older a person gets the more ingrained a person's viewpoints and set reactions are. Where a child is happy in happy times and grumpy in bad times, an elderly person seems either happy in good and bad times or grumpy no matter what the situation is.

I feel like people start their lives as new experiences, but each experience and each of their reactions to experiences starts laying a foundation. The longer people live it seems, the more concrete their opinion of the world as a good or bad place to live. But happy and grumpy people are living in the same world, and neither happy nor grumpy people have all-good or all-bad experiences.

Whatever happens today, choose carefully how you will react to it. You are building the person you will be tomorrow.

I tend to see 2 extremes a lot. Either people completely lwt all guard down because someone is in a church. Or people are extra cautious.
I try to keep the balance and decern people

So true. I def notice it happens more with age, although some are so damaged and hurt early on, it is has changed them for good it seems. Lynx your last sentence was so good...

That's a dangerous thing. Being too cautious makes people who need help run away. Being too soft and unwatchful can bring people to you to destroy. And dismantel your armour etc.
Be careful sis

I receive your advice, thank you ♡ :). Can we be watchful, Sis, and still be soft? I suppose that is the balance, huh? I think for me, I'll need His help to achieve that balance.

It's cuz we have trust issues duhhhhh. Seriously though I tend not to trust people when it comes to "opening up" or whatevs. With Christians I'm pretty open, at least more open then i am with my family. I do struggle with my family and expressing love cuz I'm not sure how to, my sister says i tend to give things to people i care about but maybe they don't see it that way. I have a serious problem with showing any type of emotions to anyone that isn't Christian, and even then I only show so much. Also i have like serious problems with older men, men in general really, so yea that could be why people like me just don't like to be vulnerable cuz then we can be hurt so we hide how we feel under something stronger to protect ourselves. Of course that means we rarely get express those emotions so we can look very cold on the surface. My family is also split so i have no idea what a group of different people would do together or how they would talk. I can't go to my grandma and talk about like anime, or working out i doubt she'd care lol. That causes problems cuz then i just don't know what to talk about and don't say anything. I say this cuz the body of Christ could have similar problems the only thing is we all have common ground in Christ so that's what connects us. I don't have to like cats to hang out with blue, we can talk about Christ at the very least and that helps bring us together. Even then though I don't fully express myself to anyone really, God and wifey( if i ever get one) are probably the only people who I'll trust enough to even think about expressing myself to.
