That is above my pay grade my friend. If you are talking about the compartment theory, I do not agree with that interpretation.
Never heard of that theory, so would not even know what your talking about

Maybe so. But in conjunction with the other passages being discussed. When it comes to ANY children in hell, I'd counsel my brothers to take a cue from Mel Brooks and abstain!

Skip to 1:30 and "Get off the Fat Jokes!"

Here’s the thing my friend, the Bible does not explicitly state one way or the other about their eternal state.

If God commanded babies of the enemy nations to be killed, it appears to me He views them much differently than we do.

Here’s the thing, if babies do not enter the eternal state as babies, then maybe God does not see them as innocent babies as we tend to?

Look at the times God commanded Israel to completely obliterate nations who were their enemies, even the babies. In my opinion, how we see babies is not how He sees them. Just my opinion.
Examine the people groups they were commanded to utterly destroy.

NEPHILLIM DNA!!! The lot of them.

So either we do in fact have a maniacal god or He ordered His people to look a 2 year old little girl or boy in the eye and run a sword through them because they had fallen angel DNA.

I choose to believe the latter.

So....boiled down a man does not need to do anything, no confession of faith, no acknowledging Christ in belief, no need for the word of God being witnessed or proclaimed....just live life because at the end if you are chosen your saved and if not you are bumming right.....so....the following verses need to be removed...

If you believe AND CONFESS <-no need to confess you are elected or not.

Sir what must I do to be saved....NOTHING BECAUSE YOU ARE ALREADY ELECTED...no need to CONFESS Jesus as Lord

Heck....the thief on the cross should have saved his breath...no need to confess Jesus as Lord....he was already elected....

The absurdity of it all........hahahahaha
You are super misrepresenting calvinism here.

Big words dont split the mouth there is a saying in my language.

Man does need to confess, repent, believe, all that. The elect would do those, you know the "P" in TULIP? Perseverence of the saints.

The verses dont need to be removed AND the calvinist teaches that man only DOES THOSE THINGS because of God's grace and God working in them.
The man in the flesh cant please God and do those things pleasing to Him. Thats the whole point of calvinism.

Born not from man's will but God's will, and in the same breath John speaks of those who received Him.

This is just 100% misrepresentation.

This would be good if we were discussing hyper-calvinism (primitive baptists) but not for real calvinists like Preacher or Angela or SackclothnAshes

I have no problem with people critiquing calvinism or disagreeing with it. But I do like things to be FAIR to both sides and thats why I posted this. Representing your opponent accurately is one of the most important parts of having a discussion/debate.

Funny how "all of a sudden" he's come up with this as if all along he never believed they enter the eternal state as babies. I'm not buying it because he never argued it until it was brought up just a little bit ago. Talk about trying to stack the deck and being disingenuous. Not surprised though.

Well, I accept the fallen man view...

Godly men (sons of God) took ungodly wives, and their descendants (Nephilim) followed after the false gods, rejected God, and fell far from God in wickedness

Again my friend, you are appealing to your emotions more than the word of God. God is not maniacal, but is holy, just, pure, immaculate.

How do you know all those nations had Nephillim dna my friend?

Nephilim DNA is your argument? Wow. That's a conspiracy theorist dream. Do you have Scripture that says this, or does Scripture rather argue it's not because of their DNA but due to their extreme sinfulness? Can we save absurd subjectivity for others to use as argumentation?

I'd argue it was their sin nature and that since God commanded them to be wiped out then that's his will. The cattle, sheep, other livestock? Nephilim DNA too?

Are there still nephilim today?

I choose to believe the Potter can do as he will with his clay. I wouldn't even hint at God being maniacal because in your context if it is not the reason why you say they were slaughtered that they were in fact slaughtered then you're calling him that yourself.

I think God had other reasons when he told the jews to kill all when they entered Cainaan, And Israel disobeyed and we see today the results of those decisions (lack of peace in the middle east)

People come up with this because they feel they need to get God off the hook.

Why Did God Command the Children of Israel to Kill Every Man, Woman, and Child in the Promised Land?
FROM R.C. Sproul Jr. Nov 02, 2013 Category: Articles

Among the countless nuggets of wisdom I have received over the years from my father is this bit of gold—when you are reading your Bible and you come across something that makes you uncomfortable, resist the temptation to simply move on to something else. Where the Bible makes us uncomfortable is precisely where we need to slow down. It is compelling evidence of a specific weakness. When our thoughts or feelings bristle under God’s Word, He is right and we wrong.

That said, it is understandable that so many would recoil from God’s command that every living person in Canaan be put to death as His people conquer the land. No mercy for those women and children, no compassion on the aged, God’s instructions were as clear as they were brutal.

Many outside the faith have planted their flag here, arguing that our God is immoral, monstrous. Many on the fringes of the faith perform sundry exegetical gymnastics to wiggle out from under the account. Many faithful believers are simply puzzled and embarrassed. The God we worship, however, the true and living God, did in fact give this command, and rightly so. If we would rightly worship Him, even here we would praise His name.

There are at least two reasons why God did this. The first is evidenced in what came to pass when Israel did not obey God in this command. God wanted the land cleared of all temptations to His people to turn from Him, His worship and His law. The Canaanites were a threat to the purity of God’s people. He had set them apart, consecrated them, adopted them. In giving this order, He was protecting them.

Joshua, for all his faithfulness, left the job unfinished. Once Israel was in the ascendency, once they felt safe, they began to think it might prove helpful to leave some of the Canaanites around, to fetch their water and chop their wood. The book of Judges reveals the results. Those few who were spared became a snare, just as God predicted they would. Soon, everyone did what was right in their own eyes.
Of course one might understand this motive, and still be horrified. These Canaanites were not mere abstractions, but real people. Is it not still rather cruel to kill them all simply for seeking to protect the moral purity of Israel? Perhaps, were that God’s only motive. The second reason God commanded them all to be put to death is because they were all, every man, woman and child of them, sinners. And the wages of sin is death. In short, God did this for the same reason He does all that He does, for the good of His people, and for His own glory.

It is because we are sinners, and because God so often showers us with grace, that we lose sight of the justice of God, and the blackness of sin. When we read about the execution of the Canaanites we ought not to ask, “How could God do this?” but “Why does He not kill us all?” The shocking part of the story of the conquest of Canaan is God’s love for His rebellious people, not His just wrath toward other rebels. From the moment of our conception we are all under God’s just death sentence. Every moment of every day is a momentary stay of execution. When we forget this truth we show ourselves to be the sinners we are. But praise His name, Christ came into the world to save sinners. He who knew no sin became sin for us, and died a sinner’s death that we might live. May we who are called by His name never lose either the amazing, or the grace, in amazing grace.

I think people are forgetting one point. God told abraham his people would have to wait 400 years until they would be given the land. And there was a reason.

Genesis 15:16
But in the fourth generation they shall return here, for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet complete.”

What does this mean, Figure this out, and you will see the major reason God said kill all people, and yet was justified in doing so. Apart from this fact. we just have assumptions..

So, what proof do you have the Amalekites and Jerichoites had Nephillim DNA my friend?

I have heard this claim made too. Im waiting for evidence. While I am eagerly waiting for it, i wont be holding my breath. ;)
I think we all should keep our minds open. And not just shut people out.

I many times in my life thought no one could convince me something, only to later find proof I was wrong.. I just praise God I was open..

Well, I don’t buy the sons of God to be fallen angels, because once fallen they would not be sons of God. Nor would they be considered sons to begin with, imo. So that argument falls flat right out of the gate.
