Hey Everyone,

So here we are on the day after an infamous holiday designed to remind singles of just how single they are...

Every store, bouquet, heart-spattered aisle, and even the deceivingly charming smiles of seemingly innocent stuffed teddy bears ALL seem to scream out at us, "HEY, YOU LOSER! DID YOU HAVE ANY IDEA YOU'RE SINGLE--AND THE CLOCK IS TICKING???"

Wow. I'm sure none of us had any idea. :rolleyes:

So... Just to check in and make sure everyone survived all the hyper-awareness of our social statuses...

* How was your Valentine's Day and what did you do?

* If you had a Valentine next year, what kind of gift/act of thoughtfulness would you like to give them?

* What would you hope your Valentine would do for you? (Any really unique/budget-friendly ideas out there?

Me... I'm thinking, I would love to give someone (actually, a female friend if I'm still single) a unicorn--because, seriously. WHO DOESN'T WANT A UNICORN???

Just kidding. I suppose some people would rather have a pegasus... :)

And, I have to admit. My National Holiday of Public Shaming, I mean, Singleness, wasn't all too bad--I was able to get 2 free perfume samples at Sephora, PLUS a free chocolate chip cookie at a sandwich shop. :)

AND, I DIDN'T HAVE TO SHARE THE COOKIE WITH ANYONE!

Seriously, maybe singleness isn't all THAT bad.

How about the rest of you?

I try not to make that big of a deal out of it in my own mind so as not to be brought down into any of those tough feelings singleness can sometimes bring about. So given that, I'm usually glad when it is gone and don't care to think about it anymore afterwards.

Singularity may be better than being unequally yoked.
If you apply yourself to scriptural discernment to improve worthiness. But I believe having a helpmeet promotes temporary longevity unless the yoking is unequal....Much caution to warning should be headed and exercised do not yoke yourself to someone with false expectations of changing them....Only God changes people when they confess a willingness to him.
I suggest that fundamental and foundational beliefs in a comprehension of a full prophetical interpretation of the whole truth and nothing but is most desirable to avoid unnecessary and undesirable conflict.

Well counter attack strategy 1 was to plan something for tonight so I'd be looking forward to that instead of focusing on valentines day (now I just need friends to text back about details for game night tonight).

Then I planned a sort of special meal for myself, though I think that discovering I can whip up really yummy single servings of chocolate mousse in my mini blender may have been bad for my waistline (on the other hand I didn't go out and eat super sugary ice cream or chocolates or cakey stuff so that's probably a plus).

Then I got on the computer and pulled up an old online game (well a couple of new ones first) and played games until bedtime.

Oh and someone brought free cookies in to work and I ate a couple of those as well.

As far as I know the only casualty of Valentine's day in my world was Dad's cell phone, it died and now I have to help him dig up one of the old phones I think my parents still have lying around the house when I go visit tomorrow.

Mine was pretty good. A co-worker's wife bought some cookies for our lab. They were some of the best I have ever tasted. They were heavy, too. I went into a coma after, which was fine since no one else seemed to feel like working yesterday.

I guess I missed most of the Valentine's decorations yesterday. I did grocery pickup so I didn't have to go in to the store. They did have some decorations on the parking signs.

I got to chat with some cool people here, and discussed some issues with being single with some other friends elsewhere. Oh, and RLM released a video discussing one of my all time favorite comedies.

Singleness can sting. But that's where friends can come in. It's nice to have friends to fall back on and talk to when you're lonely or hurting.


Personally, I have neither friends or a significant other. Please don't feel sorry for me though. I still manage okay. In cases like mine, you just have to be strong and learn to handle life by yourself. It's not as bad as you would think. I just keep myself occupied so I don't dwell on it, you know?

My day was great ! I expected nothing , but received earrings from my mom, flowers from my sister and a necklace from an old friend from my teenage years. Oh and lots of sugar free chocolate (cause keto)

I gave all 7 of my sweethearts (nieces and nephews) something little. It was just a pleasant day :)

You seem like a very thoughtful person with the posts you write up. Keep living your life for Christ and someday your time will come, Lord willing. It’s all about His timing, not ours :)
 
Valentines is just another working day for me. I just was lucky to get a chocolate rose from someone, which went to my neice. Lol.

I like what Mike said, when you’re in a relationship with someone, Valentines Day should be everyday and that’s so true :)
