Im not reading anything into the text. I even bolded the text and gave you other sources that see the same conclusion.
Ok but thats peoples misinterpretstion because they dont read that noah and his wife and his sons wives all went in the ark with him. They just read it a different way and assume they did not go with him, even when scripture says clearly they went WITH him, so...there doesnt seem to be any basis for their assertion they went in seperately.

Can we agree to disagree about their conclusion that noah and his wife were sepaerated.

I'm not understanding this "outnumbered" thing at all.

;)
Well, there were 100 or so women and only three men there.
The ratio was decidedly unbalanced. Lol

I don't think I am understanding your objection to the existence of women's groups.

The fact that they exist does not in any way detract from the fact that there are plenty of mixed groups and social situations within the Body of Christ where it is open to all. Historically it has been the men who made women outsiders and shuffled them off to the side, treating us as less than equals.

The text says they went WITH him into the ark.

Could it simply be underscoring the pairings of mates?

Male and female He made them.

Yea thats what I thought.

I think the issue I have with women only gatherings is that they exclude men and often women have no option but to go with women only when..there doesnt seem to be any basis for them. Its an Unnecessary division in the body of Christ, and makes the body less effective. Its saying, within the body 'I dont need you. '

The same with men only gatherings. Why seperate what GOd has joined together, I dont get it. I think its segregation and showing that something in the church is dysfunctional.

Of course people dont have to go to them, but the thing is, that they are there and it brings division.

It is Biblical for women to teach women, for those with experience to teach and guide those younger, of the same sex. Historically, in the world at large, it seems to have been largely men's groups that shut women out. Those walls have been being knocked down for some time now. Still, men and women are different from each other. Having a space that is exclusive to one sex or another seems healthy to me. For instance, if and when I joined a gym, it was always women only.

Hmm ive been to both women only gym and an open gym and got to say the open gym was much better, the women only gym ripped me off.

I am wary of those types of gyms now.

How they ripped me off...and other women, first they targeted me just cos i was female, and then said it was only $1 to join, and then claimed i had signed up for 12 months when I hadnt, and took all my money, I went to complain to the head office and they wouldnt have a bar of it. I had to get my dad to say something cos they wouldnt listen to me since i was just a female and they just thought i was easy target. I had to stop the bank account cos they were draining my finances. And the classes weerent even very good. And because only women went, they didnt have the full equipment and range of services so it was pretty useless.

The open gym did not rip anyone off, and if you wanted to stop going it was fine they didnt continue charging you.

I wonder if 1 corinthians 11:3-15 is referencing just head coverings or its really meaning men and women ought to pray and prophesy together, esp verses 11-12
It always about the two made as one creation(man and woman) when gathering to together. A picture to the world of Christ and his church or bride. .. The time periods when there was separation between man and woman served as a parable till the time of reformation and the beginning of a new ceremonial law we are one in Christ represented by two walking in agreement to one God.

Two or three gathering together under the authority of His living word , He is there in fellowship. Two or three, a family ,husband wife child represent the church made up of many lively stones that does form the spiritual house of God as his eternal bride.

I am sorry to hear of your bad experiences related to that women's only gym. I do not think I could be comfortable in a unisex gym as an overweight woman knowing everyone is eyeballing everybody else. People watching is a natural enough pass time, but a line has to be drawn somewhere :) Even as a woman of reasonable weight, I would rather exercise with women only if I was going to be doing that. There are plenty of other health-conscious ways to improve ourselves that lend themselves more naturally to being mixed. Having a choice is important.

The gym I had joined a couple of times was very well equipped. I went mostly for the cardio dance type exercise programs, but did use the stationary bikes occasionally, and also availed myself of the strength building machines that you went through in sequence to build up muscle. It was nice that they had showers and a sauna also :)

they dont read that because the text does not say that. now if they worded it like you just did, Noah, his wife, his sons and their wives. your view would make perfect sense, but thats not how its written.

They just read it a different way and assume they did not go with him,
no one thinks they didnt all go in the ark, it has to do with them being divided into Noah and His sons, Noahs wife and the sons wives.

even when scripture says clearly they went WITH him,
but does not say they went in as one group

so...there doesnt seem to be any basis for their assertion they went in seperately.
other than the text saying Noah and His sons, Noahs wife and the sons wives.

i studied this a while back so i dont remember everything i found. what i was studying had nothing to do with this anyway but this subject came up and i thought it was interesting being as it was something i had never heard before. there were many that believed this years ago, so its hard for me to believe they all misinterpreted it when there is no motive to do so, a conspiracy to make men and women sit separate in church sounds pretty far fetched, and if there was, why go to such extremes when one could just as easily establish a community rule for that church.

Can we agree to disagree about their conclusion that noah and his wife were sepaerated.
no problem

Aw ok, I guess theres a rationale behind it but..honestly most people arent eyeballing everyone else when they exercise they concentrating on improving their own bodies. They not there to people watch, if they are I seriously wonder if they got nothing better to do! Gym memberships arent cheap. And I know of some women who are weight concious but they all went to unisex gyms. I think maybe its an issue with ones own body image or perception.

I would say if you have any concerns about stalkers or whatver take it up with management, not condemn the entire opposite sex.

I was thinking there used to be YMCAs and then maybe cos the women missed out, they had YWCAs as well, but really what they should have done was just have YCAs and not made an issure of gender. Young christians have energy to burn so why making it exclusively male thing i dont understand.

Its like boy scouts and girl guides. Then you get the whole issue of homosexuality creeping in when you constantly separate out the sexes too.

Apparently the YWCA has turned into a feminist organsiation far from its christian origins.

I remember a catholic girl once told me she wanted to be a nun. I'm like why?

Maybe she had issues with men, I dont know. But hanging round with people of your own sex all day everyday doesnt sound like much of a life to me. And whos to say that more bullying doesnt go on in convents? Women can be the worst bullies to each other.

Anyway I just find it suss. I can understand maybe you are female and you born into a family with only brothers and maybe you want to hang round some more sisters. Or you have only boys in your household, and it can be too rough and tumble and you need a bit of relief from that. But to completely separate and cut yourself off from your christian brothers renders you less effective.

On the converse, whats with the men disregarding their women? Not allowing them to participate in ministries, education, sports, whatever. Are we not one in Christ?

This is rooted in a narrow interpretation of certain passages in Scripture, and a convenient ignorance of other passages. :)

The interesting thing I found is Paul says the women ought to keep silence in church, but i find in classrooms, its mostly the boys who have the reputation of being the noisy ones.

There are even rules for this that we need to enforce, like 'when you want to speak, raise your hand' 'nows the time to sit still and listen' 'interrupting is not a good idea' and the last one is 'space invaders no way'

However these rules dont mean we seat the girls and the boys separately. Or only teach bible to the girls.

With regard to that verse, I suggest you check out the video series with Donna Howell on the SkyWatch TV YouTube channel.

To the rest, I find both genders about equal. Boys might be more rambunctious, but girls are more chatty... at least in the youth ministry.

Correction>>>>>> Negros are the direct descendants of Cain/Satan. Jews are the offspring of the EDOMITES. Esau, the brother of Jacob left his heritage/religion/race of peoples and married into the Canaanite tribe a woman who was a Canaanite. Hence>>>we have the ANTI-CHRIST UnBiblical jews who like their fellow negro Canaanites belong to the same democRAT baby killing, Anti-white, Anti-Christ ungodly regime. Now you know....Bless
Wow!

I was about to offer a welcome, but I think I'll just say, The Exit is that way. Your racist rant will be reported to the Moderators.
