I'm not defending this OP, just clarifying a point that is kinda important.
Yes, Christ will never leave or forsake us, however, that does not mean we do not have the free will to turn our backs on Him. Not talking about a believer that stumbles...….because that believer can still rely on the blood of Christ to give him salvation. However, when that believer stumbles, he must repent and ask for forgiveness.
No person (after salvation comes to them) can then live their lives in disobedience to God/Christ and still expect to inherit eternal life.........that's just silly IMO.
Every believer has the duty to strive to live Christ like...….the Apostle Paul spoke of his struggles on more than one occasion. And, if he struggled, all of us can very well expect to. Christ made a simple yet bold statement when He said"

13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
Jesus said that hearts would wax cold and there would be a falling away......
