I love you, Brother..Tons.
Since reading this, you have been on my mind alot, and I truly, absolutely Love you 😊🙏. I Pray you are having a bright day. I wish I could hang out with you and Pray together.
I guess those prayers didn't work. I spent all day miserably sick yesterday.
Nor do i pray, so i don't foresee that ever happening. But appreciate the intentions.

What faith?
I didn't claim to be right about everything, and I have been praying for him too; but it is the truth that sets us free... he said he has stopped praying a long time ago... what if something happened to him tomorrow? You would probably wish you had said more truth to him....we all face trials but if we don't trust God with the difficult stuff we are floored...I know it's hard but it isn't going to get any easier for us if we stop praying and get so bitter against God that it takes root... God wants him to turn to Him and surrender -he is being deceived
You know what? I really appreciate your concern for him. I think it's born of tragedy and what I mean by that is that I think you understand his potential tragedy of dying tomorrow void of God. But let this ease your heart. I think he is a child of God whose trials are refined by fire.

I work some in metallurgy and for some, like maybe me, a simple iron would suffice as a warrior for God. Maybe I'm fairly expendable, but a decent fighter. Not much refinement is necessary. For others though, a fine Damascus steel requires a full refinement. Several trips to the fire is demanded. Much hammering and removing slag. Impurities wrung out like a mop. But the result is a hardened steel that breaks my iron like china. And I think Sub has... and is... going through that refinement.

And he's so tired. But I don't think he's lost. He's lamenting. Otherwise, I don't think he'd be here and I don't think he's abandoning God. I think he's consumed with Him. Like David. Like Job. Like Jeremiah as Cinder mentioned.

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom....
And erm... what are you still doing on here if you are not a Christian...?

Decide which side you are on-He spews lukewarm out of His mouth if you read in Revelation....
Umm... because i'm allowed to be here? Feel free to report me if you disagree.

I had no intentions of so much discussion to be about me in this thread. So please discontinue and let the thread remain on its intended purpose.

Some days, others not so much. I suppose the right response is to be content regardless for His grace is sufficient. I have to remind myself that on those quiet, not so comfy, lonely days.

Then I'll keep an eye out for you on the days of not so much.

In the meantime, there's sometimes brilliance in this homeless world of ours. Agnus Dei sung by way of Barber's Adagio for Strings.

Interesting that people who believe in presdestination or were indoctrinated into that way of thinking turn out either hopeless or unbearably smug regarding their marital status.

We all have a choice to choose JOY. I thank God I have the option.
Paul said I have learned the secret of being content. Whether he was abounding or when he was lacking. May we all learn it.

Joy of the Lord is our strength 💪🏻

God is the beginning and the end. He knew us before we were born. He knows what we will do from life to death. We have free will and a choice to bear the fruits of the spirit. The choices we make determine the future we experience. The amazing part is God already knows, has done all the work on the cross, and all we have to do is believe and try to follow Him the best we can (He knows the heart)

So it looks like I never actually answered the original OP here. And I think the answer may get complicated so the short version is: I do what I can to make the most of the situations I find myself in in life, change what can be changed for the better, and enjoy it as much as possible. And my life has been one that is very fortunate / blessed so that hasn't been too difficult for me.

The longer version is something along the lines of even as a teen hitting puberty I always saw it as I've always been single and I'm getting along just fine and couldn't understand why I should or would suddenly feel the need to be coupled up with someone (or why so many people seem to think getting that must be your focus in life if you don't have it). As I've moved out on my own and not had the constant companionship of family, fellow students, or teammates that's changed a bit simply because too much time alone without anyone to talk to about personal stuff isn't good for even the most introverted introverts.

Mostly if I think about being single at all, I try to focus on the advantages of it: No one is complaining about my lack of house cleaning; I can make whatever food I want exactly the way I want to; never have to block out someone else's entertainment choices that I'm not interested in; can make plans and decisions quickly, without needing to check with anyone else first etc. Though I have one major frustration with singleness these days and that is it seems so much harder to form and connect with any community as a single than it does for couples and families. Not sure how accurate that perception is, but these days I find lack of community frustrating.

Well, I’ve been a widow for oh so many years now, and I’ve gotten quite accustomed to living the single life.

I can do whatever I want, travel wherever I want, work wherever I want and watch whatever is airing😁.

Only thing is that the obligations of being a grandma is knocking on my door🤗😁.

So I guess I have to settle in old Galveston before the grandkids are getting too old and too many for me to handle😊.

Yeah, everything cinder said.

And no, it's not just your perception. That's how it really is. Or if it's not, we both have the same skewed perception.

My motive for growing, learning, changing used to be out of a desire for a future partner and marriage. Now my motive is to be who God created me to be regardless of single or taken.

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm seeing two CC Singles Members who really shouldn't be single anymore.

And yes.

I realize I'm going to be slapped from both directions for saying that, but hey, some moments are just too good to pass by.
