Hey Everyone,

This thread is a bit of an experiment. In MegMarch's awesome Age Gap thread, we had a couple of CC'ers predicting what another CC'er would say in response, and they were pretty spot-on! In the past, there have been threads based on this entire concept -- members of the forum guessing or imitating what other members of the forum would say.

For instance, one person at the time wrote, "Well Seoulsearch would say... blah blah blah blah blah" (repetitions of the word "blah" for about half a page.) He was a forum friend who was, of course, poking fun at the fact that I never seem to be able to say anything in just a few short words!!! And it was hilarious. :D

Now, the 2 biggest problems we run into when trying to do a thread like this is:

1. Some people might be hurt by what's said, so please be gentle (I myself tend to pick on the same people I've been picking on for years -- because I know they'll pick right back at me!)

2. Some people who are new or don't post as much on the foru might feel left out. (Most times there are tons of people I'd like to include, but don't feel I know them well enough not to offend them. )

And, so, in order to give everyone a chance to participate, here is the scenario -- the CC Singles Forum is a having a Christmas party in this magnificent place:

What would you predict that another CC'er (whose posts you are familiar with) would say or do?

If you are new or don't know anyone here that well yet, please feel free to tell us about what YOU would say or do at the CC Singles Christmas Party. (What would you wear, what would you bring, what foods would hope were there, who would you talk to, etc.) Tell us about how YOU would respond so that we can learn more about you and be the ones to mention you if we try more threads like this one!

If you'll just give me a minute, I'm going to give an example of what I'm picturing in the next post. But this is just MY interpretation. Feel free to come up with your own! :)

And so, we all walk into this beautiful Christmas scene, and... (please see next post for my predictions.)

So... We all walk into this beautiful place for our Christmas party, and here is what I imagine certain CC'ers would say:

Lynx: "What do you mean there isn't any eggnog, I mean REAL eggnog, with REAL eggs and REAL nog and NO cinnamon???!!! Why, this is a (17-syllable word I've never heard of that means something like tragedy, unbelievable, and downright criminal all at once)!!!"

JustEli: "Who in the world chose these decorations... None of them are big enough or reflective enough to show off how pretty I am!"

Pipp: "I brought cakes!" (Someone would ask, "What kinds of cakes?") to which, Pippy would answer, "I brought ALL the cakes," thereby whipping open the doors of her car, revealing at least 24 whimsical cake designs, all in magical flavors."

Melita: "I heard there was going to be food, so I'm here."

Seoulsearch (me!): "As long as I get a slice of all 24 different flavors of those cakes, no one will get hurt - or stampeded."

All the Members from the Southern USA: "What in heaven's name are all those white flakes falling outside the window???!!"

Whew, ok! So these were just a few ideas. Please do NOT feel you have as detailed of a response. If you don't know anyone else well enough to predict what they'd say, just tell us what YOU would say or do. :) Help us get to know you better.

Please feel free to also leave suggestions on how we can improve/shape threads like this in the future if anyone would like to continue. For instance, we could try different scenarios ("What Would These CC'ers Say/Do on a Camping Trip???!!!") in future threads.

Even if this all falls flat, at least we gave it a shot!

I really hope you'll give it a try. :)

God bless, and hope to see you at the "party"! :)

Looks pensively into the distance.

Explains the historical significance the Soviet Union has had on our current Christmas traditions or lack of.

I know there would be a long line of downright decent folks ((MailmanDan, Tourist, PennEd, and a few others....) peeking in from just outside the door, seeing the decorations and the cakes, and asking,

"Well, I'm actually married, but can I join your party anyway?"

All good people and absolutely invited to bring their spouses and join in on the fun.

Shoot, we might even let in a few BDF'ers, too.

After all, it IS Christmas. 🤪

(Please note that this is a joke, seeing that many of our regulars also visit the BDF.) 🥳

Long as it is Jim Beam😁.
Yes! We'll need bourbon for the eggnog. WAY better than rum, IMHO.

And Bailey's or Kahlua for the coffee, and Amaretto for the hot chocolate, and ...

Look, people.

Is this going to be a Christmas party or an AA meeting?

(OH man, please don't be offended, anyone... I've attended AA meetings in support of a friend. Very sorry if I went too far.)

(I myself have no problems with responsible social drinking but understand it's a struggle for many people.)

I will be happy to drink responsibly on behalf of those who cannot do so and must abstain. ;)

Sorry, we’ll just be on our way boozin’ and dozing off in the gutter because we were not allowed to the party😢😁.

"Seoulsearch imagines Susanna will have a few choice words for her along the way, but it will all be in French with that lovely French accent, so as far as Seoulsearch is concerned, Susanna can say whatever she wants!"

Responsible drinking in the swamp land is not getting eaten by an alligator😂.

We will drink responsibly till the bottle is empty.😜

Sorry, I’m really trying to be on my best behavior here, but my true colors can’t be hidden.

There would be no booze at an AA Christmas party or meeting :giggle::giggle::giggle: Not even a "near beer" ;):D
