It’s a waste of time. He symbolizes everything, meaning he doesn’t take anything literally.
I would offer the other side of the coin.
Taking the signified understanding literally gives us the unseen understanding .
Parables, the mixing of the things seen, the temporal together, with the unseen eternal is called "mixing faith" in Hebrew 4 reckoned as the gospel . No mixing faith no gospel and therefore no sabbath rest .
Hebrews 4:1-5)King James Version (KJV)Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.
I don't think we are literalize the
signified understanding.
Revelation 1 King James Version (KJV)The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John:
Like for instance when looking at the parable in Revelation 20 and applying the metaphors .
When rightly dividing according to the prescription (2 Corinthian 4:18) I find at least 10 different metaphors (the temporal things seen) that literally give us the unseen eternal spiritual understanding. Beginning with the word
angel (they have no form as messages of truth ) and the
key which is the faith that comes from hearing God, the gospel. The gospel as a chain binds the father of lies . e.t.c.
The first 6 verses are loaded with
metaphors used in parable . John was simply shown a vision using the things seen to give the literal spiritual understanding.
And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season. And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.revealtion Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years. Revelation 20:1-6
I would think we are in that thousand year reign it began two thousand literal years ago .
We walk by faith not after the metaphors, the temporal
2 Corinthians 4:18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
