Fallacy of bait and switch. Notice the actual OP topic: "Is it a sin to drink alcohol"

It did not state anything about amount. The OP title does not say, "Is it a sin to be drunk with alcohol". It clearly states "Is it a sin to drink alcohol".
What a foolish and pathetic comment. You're employing the fallacy of equivocation, claiming that Post's comment is a bait and switch to the OP, which it is not. His comment was not made in direct response to the OP. You're grasping at straws.

I'm sure you'll respond with a "Disagree" icon... because you don't have a sound argument to present. When you do, I'll yawn in your general direction.

common sense should convince most when they come to Biblical-maturity', that 'surfeiting'
is the actual (sin)!!!, upon (real), insightful-self-reflection that can only come from Jesus Christ...

Has anybody posted on this in the the thread?

(Rom 14:21 It is good not to eat meat or to drink wine, or to do anything by which your brother stumbles)

(Rom 14:22 The faith which you have, have as your own conviction before God. Happy is he who does not condemn himself in what he approves)

Yes, please see here as I give at least two examples (fasting/feasting and Nazarites)- https://christianchat.com/bible-dis...-to-drink-alcohol.191061/page-35#post-4206234

Oh?

Luk 21:34 And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.

Those who drink alcohol (Jeremiah 51:7; Revelation 18:3), have yet another drink they will drink, yea, even all of it, to the dregs (Revelation 14:10, 16:9, 18:6-8):

Jer_51:7 Babylon hath been a golden cup in the LORD'S hand, that made all the earth drunken: the nations have drunken of her wine; therefore the nations are mad.
Rev 18:3 For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.
Rev_14:10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:
Rev_16:19 And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath.
Rev 18:6 Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double.
Rev 18:7 How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow.
Rev 18:8 Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her.
Yes, there is only one way of escape (Isaiah 51:17,22), and those who refuse to take it, shall drink it all down, for strong is the LORD God which judges them (Psalms 75:8):

Jer_25:28 And it shall be, if they refuse to take the cup at thine hand to drink, then shalt thou say unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Ye shall certainly drink.
Those who teach that alcohol consumption, in any amount, is not sin, not destructive to the body temple, not corruption, and even to teach that the 'wine' (fruit of the vine, pure blood of the grape) of the Lord's supper is alcoholic, bring upon themselves desolation and destruction, for how can they which drink of alcohol which brings forgetting, ever truly remember (as alcohol dulls the mind, and erases the way of God from the heart) what is most needful (as it will even corrupt their doctrine, and practices):
1Co_11:25 After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.
1Co 11:29 For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body.
Pro 31:3 Give not thy strength unto women, nor thy ways to that which destroyeth kings.
Pro 31:4 It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine; nor for princes strong drink:
Pro 31:5 Lest they drink, and forget the law, and pervert the judgment of any of the afflicted.

exactly.

what a ridiculous argument, to say a single sip of wine intoxicates a person and is sin.
Jesus drank wine. Jesus passed wine around saying '
drink' at the last supper.

the implications of accusing of sin anyone who takes a sip are idiotic.

oh - you're going to reply with 8 walls of text literally no one will read, to say, 'twas only mildly flavored grape water' ??

see page 1.
The grape water might be palatable if it were carbonated. Might even catch a buzz. Probably not though.

wonder how many Christians have had a glass or 2 since this op began and with a good conscience too

this shouldn't even be a question unless you are new Christian and then perhaps other instruction would be fitting

people who are all wrapped up in rules and regulations that are not even in scripture just cannot quit insisting and demanding we all follow suit

well don't trip over your robes :whistle:

of course you should stay away from alcohol if that is a problem for you or if with people who think it is a sin. BUT if you are way fat you should stay away from high calorie foods too...but we won't talk about that

much easier to deal with smoking and drinking

outside appearance only really changes from the inside out. these paint jobs never work

Perrier is definitely worth a try. I recommend just a 4 pack, perhaps lemon flavored to see if you like it. When I lived in Maine for 8 years I drank a lot of Polar pop, all varieties. Very refreshing. I don't remember every trying La Croix but it might be worth a try. Maybe a 6 pack of orange flavor to see how it compares to Orange Crush which I consider the gold standard of orange pop. Drank some orange Faygo brand pop when I was growing up. It was a favorite in Detroit. Liked the red pop too.
