Besides, I don't have any money, I don't own a McDonalds, and I get woozy when people talk 'medical' so medical school is out. I also don't run for fun or own a TV, so no National Geographic channel.
Well, if she hates cleaning tile grout? At least we now both have an excuse. I can blame the filthy bathroom on her when I talk to my friends, and she can blame it on me when she talks to hers. Neither of us have to clean the bathroom, and neither of us are at fault. Problem solved.
I have pretty much always been single. I like being single...I like to spend a lot of time alone.
Why? One reason is that I have much more freedom than I would if I was in a relationship. This is important to me.......What do you despise about being single?
NOTE: Please don't just say 'I hate being lonely'..
Has anyone mentioned anything about toilet seats and drinking straight from the container?
So, NOT ONLY is he non-materialistic... (Are we sure he doesn't actually live in a cave... maybe I shouldn't ask that...) And in addition...
He apparently doesn't clean bathrooms either... except for special occasions, such as, moving across the country.![]()
Nuke, you sure know how to sell yourself!!Actually... I saw a nameplate on a house and thought of you--it said, "Jim's Man Cave." Mmm... I'm thinking... "Nuke Pooch's Lair 'O'Macho..." (or maybe nachos...)
I do clean bathrooms, but my 'clean' isn't good enough for a germophobe...that said, I'm just trying to make the place sparkle so's I can get my deposit back.
This officially confirms my suspicion that most men will never actually "clean" a bathroom (throwing away your own Kleenex doesn't count) unless cold hard cash is involved... (the temptation of cash with which to pay for more manly things, like video games and tools, is just too great, apparently...) Scary thought.![]()
...so I take it that you're a germophobe? I've known a LOT of women who don't clean as much as I do...
While alone time is great and I'm okay with not being in a relationship right now..there are those moments in life that just don't seem complete unless they are shared with someone special. Once you've known that, it's a tough thing to live without.
P.S. I'm one of those wierdos who loves to clean and I don't like anyone in my way while I'm doing it..just my music cranked as loudly as possible.
I totally dig a man who cleans!!!
Sorry this is off-topic a bit, but I think I would classify myself as a semi-germophobe. My Mom has such a clean house that it borders on OCD. I just visited them recently and part of our agenda one day was dusting the floors--she has a special type of duster for each type of flooring (i.e., carpet, tile, wood, etc.) and a set time each week for each "stage" of cleaning--dust, vacuum, mop, etc. And those are just the floors.
One of my brothers would be exactly like her if he had the time--he yelled at me once for not sweeping all my hair off his bathroom floor when I came for a visit.
My other brother is the exact opposite--I went to check on him once in college--every inch of counter space was filled with something dirty, and he hadn't changed his cat box (two cats) in a month (or more). I couldn't stand it. Even though I was only there one night, I washed all his dishes, hosed down his counter, and (GULP) changed the cat litter (which was about as close to nuclear waste as you can get.)
Afterward, I promptly hosed down my feet and ankles with Lysol (it was THAT bad), then washed again with soap and water as hot as I could stand (twice).
I consider myself to be somewhere comfortably in the middle... I like to have things clean, organized, and yes, sanitary (as you can tell, I have a penchant for Lysol,) but they don't have to be absolutely sterile. (You could seriously perform major surgery on my Mom's kitchen counter... and her toilets are probably cleaner than most restaurant sinks--she cleans them 2-3 times a week, again, with special tools, cleansers, and accessories for each "stage" of cleaning.)
I guess this will loop around to being back on-topic after all--one plus about being single is not having to clean up after anyone (or be yelled at if I have any strands of hair on the floor.)
Warning - the following is a venting session. If you don't like when others vent or when someone else is having a bad day please do not read.
I think what I despise about being single is doing everything by yourself. Yes there is the loneliness factor but the actual physical daily life tasks that take a lot of time and energy that you have to do alone like running errands, all the chores in the house, and everything falling on you financially as well.
Men and women are supposed to help each other and I feel like I have no help. You know that song by the Museum "My Help Comes From the Lord" thats a nice song and everything but God has never cleaned my bathroom.
Life isn't about ME ME ME and I don't want it to be, but its certainly ME ME ME who has to do everything.

I totally understand. So I don't wanna get political or anything cause I'm not a political person, but on the last Presidential Election Night, as millions watched the results come in, I was sitting alone. No matter what you think of our Pres. you have to admit that was a historical event as the first Black President was elected. So as the votes poured in I was all alone. As many screamed and yelled on TV and others cried in dismay, I just kind of set there thinking "this is one of those times that would be better shared with a family, especially children cause its a great teachable moment."
