No one dies just to suffer. That makes no sense. But in any endeavor, there are different parts to be played. That one part is finished and declared to be so doesn’t mean that is all there was.
If a woman is suffering through childbirth or a man has to suffer through having a broken bone set with no pain killer, someone comforting them might say at the right point, “it’s finished.” That doesn’t mean there’s no baby or the bone is not going to heal. It just means their suffering great pain is finished.
